Love the night crossing, as after 10 pm the boat is totally deserted except for the couch sleepers on the top deck. Being a passenger without a car is a totally unique experience.

We did the sprite of Tasmania 3 years in a row we always do a night crossing so we arrive bright and bushy tailed as we do have a caravan but our 3 Tasmania adventure have always been on two motorcycles. We don’t want to waste a day getting there from Melbourne, shame they moved to Geelong as it’s a track from Melbourne so we normally ride to Sorrento and catch that ferry first.if the crossing is rough I would prefer to be in my cabin resting.

What a fabulous & informative trip! I’m in 🇨🇦, and looking at maps all these years I’ve never realized that Tasmania is 12 hours or more away from Australia itself, from Melbourne. I’m definitely going to have to get a physical map like Mr. B I like mapping the way.. I also use close captioning and I was looking for Jalong 😂 as that is how the CC translates Geelong.😂
I wish I had taken a trip to Australia many years ago. I just absolutely love the country and the people. ❤

Thought you had to dump all your fresh fruit/veg and salad yet you've brought it onboard the ferry, or did quarantine not check as comprehensively as they usually do

Thanks for watching 🤗 we didn’t have to discard anything, however coming into Tassie is very strict to leaving.

Extremely disappointing that you ignored biosecurity rules. These are in place to protect jobs, plants and animals - the very environments you enjoy on your travels you have put at risk. Even if you are not checked any ethical person who values the environment would not knowingly and deliberately ignore biosecurity. Sad really given your experience.

      Hello carol…
I think you need to go and check your information on Bio Security on items FROM Tasmania to
Victoria…even though Mrs B said Shhhh. I checked with Bio Security officer when van was being checked and he said all good no problems.
Carol I would be very careful making accusation and statements in future that could land you in legal trouble (slander)…
I personally think people who make these narcissistic and unwarranted comments…
Need to shut their pie hole…

      Thanks for your comments,
we followed bio security regulations on leaving Tasmania to return to the mainland.
