Also it is fantastic that JCC have gone the extra mile and provide a list of all the joist types that their lights are compatible with. Providing this information to the installer and the customer can only help to reassure that they are a good safe choice
I think it'd be ironic if an LED-only GU10 fitting eliminates the can holes because LEDs are more prone to overheating if used in a totally enclosed luminaire. However in fact the holes seem to be relocated to the sides where the spring slips are - might they dissipate heat any better than top holes? What do you think?
You guys have done a few vids with with electricians bringing new products and solutions to the market. If other electricians have other new ideas, is there a company or agency you guys would recommend to help get there?
If these have a push fit cable connection, does it have external test points without having to remove the cables for testing? I know that it's quick and easy to remove cables but it would be even better if you didn't have to.
We will have a closer look at the connectors and report back - you could also test via the GU10 lamp holder - www.screwfix.com/p/kewtech-lightmates-lighting-circuit-test-adaptors/3440g
I mainly use the V50, and they are great, I did fit some of these, and to be honest JCC missed a trick with the connections, they should have been the same as the V50 so much easier to terminate. It's not so much getting the fitting in the ceiling, it's getting the things out without damage to the ceiling, and these will be the same.
Thank you for your feedback, great that you like to fit the V50™. We spoke to many contractors and the preference between V50™ style terminals and Fireguard® Next generation was evenly split. We chose to offer this in Fireguard® to ensure that we had both options. But we are always interested to hear customer feedback and if the V50™ style is the option that more contractors would prefer, we will be happy to include this in future developments.
Thanks guys. Great improvements there by JCC and nice that someone is listening to the Electrician.
