Sandman is probably one of the 'nicest' villains Spider-Man has. Former Avenger, regularly steps up to help people, best friends with Ben Grimm... he deserved some compassion in the end.

I always liked how Spider-Man, unlike other heroes, would always do his best to maintain an open dialogue with his villains, talking with them and asking about why they're doing what they are. Spider-Man villains are almost always given an easy path for de-escalation, if a villain said, "We don't have to fight, can we talk?", Spider-Man would be like, "I'd love to!"
Sandman deserves the Venom treatment. He's been shown to be a 'some-what' good natured guy, when he had a heart-to-heart with The Thing and sacraficed himself to stop Hydro-man, in Spectacular Spider-man when he stopped the Oil Tanker from exploding, in Spider-man 3 where he was a father just looking out for his daughter. I wish they let him be an anti-hero, still masking it with his gruff, tough guy persona but genuinely trying to make a change for the better. But they keep bringing him back to his supervillian ways.
In the Transformers comic Stormbringer, there's a scene where a Decepticon named Iguanus is dying in a base. The next panel is Optimus Prime putting down his gun to take his hand so he wouldn't die alone. It's just one picture but it really reflects on the noble compassion of Optimus during a war. Just one of those little touches that show you who the good guys really are in comics.

Hated how even after he'd been an Avenger(!), they reverted him back for a reunited Sinister Six, even w/ several viable substitutes around. Now after the Six is broke up again, he's gone for good? Hope not.
This writing for sandman is on par with the depiction of him in Spectacular Spider-Man. He dies in that show too. Okay, not really, due to the show's age rating but he would've died if they'd allow it
I've hated Spider-Man for as long as I could remember. Kraven's Last Hunt has always been my favorite Spidey comic for the simple fact that Spidey dies (plus it's incredibly well written). But man, this single video has me not only rethinking that position, but doing so with tears in my eyes.
That is such a sad story this some guys have turned into super-villains because of some event where they have bern hurt and say "screw it" theyve hurt me now I'm gonna return the favor but even though the super-hero may have to stop the villain, they can show compassion for them too theyve even saved their lives: Superman saved Lex Luthor, Batman saved the Joker, Spider-man saved the Green Giblin ect the point is theres good in everyone, but not everyone choose to be good its the choices we make that make us good or evil there is good in everyone even super-villains.
Spidey didn't treat the Sandman like a human being, right? Like, he did...but more important, he treated him like a friend. He respected him despite their differences and conflicts. Hes the friendly neighborhood Spider-man after all. It's just nice how heroes like Spider-Man, Batman, the Flash, they can have these somber moments with some of their foes or otherwise misunderstood people, have these heart to hearts, and... yeah. Especially in their most dire moments. It's inspiring. Makes me want to be a better person.
My video buffered and it sounded like you said “the reason we all love Spider-Man is his indomitable ability to suck”! Some times the bad WiFi is funny.
The Sandman is my favorite character. Nothing he does is ever selfish, and most of the time is either misguided (Spectacular) or for his daughter (Toby Maguire continuity). Such a heartwarming person.
He once joined up w/ a group of Spider-Man's ex-enemies to help him out. And as an Avenger he was ready to throw down on (the 2nd) Swordsman for badmouthing Spidey.
This is why i love both spider man and flash, there the only heros who regularly sympathize with there villains, treating them like people not monsters (and yes i know there not the only ones as we seen batman be sympathetic with some of his villains, it's just rare with him and most other heros, but spidey and flash do it the most often)
Never read that one. But unless it was Harry instead of Norman; I don't know if I'd want to. I mean, EVEN w/ him apparently "de-Goblinized"; HTF can Peter ever be so comfortable w/ Norman f-ing Osborn?
That's the thing about Spider-Man. His villians aren't just villians to him and he does genuinely want to help them if he can even though many of them hate him and constantly try to kill him.
The reason people love Spider-Man is because unlike a lot of Heroes he's human despite having inhuman abilities he has the biggest heart he's the most down-to-earth he is for lack thereof a better connection Justice League Unlimited flash of the Marvel Universe
I feel like this is what's missing with the current super hero movies. Humanity. I don't know how to explain it. This level of sympathy. I feel like it's been missing lately.
So ...Sandman reforms, becomes a hero and gets accepted into the Avegers. Which is very credible since Flint Marko was never really about wanting to hurt people, so much as just trying to use his powers to make a quick, if illeagle, buck. Then in order to reunite the Sinister Six, Sandman is reverted back to being a villain; despite there being three(3) suitable substitutes (Hydroman, Quicksand, or Sandstorm); and how it made the Avengers look gulible. And now that the Sinister Six is broken uo again, he's what? Apparently disposable? I hope not. Maybe thus was just to make him sympathetic enough to get another shot at redemption?
actually now that you mentioned it, those are my favorite moments in comic books, one of my favorite scenes is the end of the killing joke, where batman and joker just have a chat, does anyone have a list of comics with these scenes? and can mullet man bring us more like these?
Almost reminds me of the way the Flash would take time to have a heart-to-heart with some of his enemies, like in the Justice League cartoon where he sat down with the Trickster at a bar and just kinda talked for a minute. It was refreshing in a way.

Bro.. that Ace ep in JL Animated is one of the best ep for JL and shows the humanity of batman one of my fav ep in tv
sandman probably felt like a make-a-wish kid waking up to spider man
For a second, I thought the title read “Spider-Man sits on a dying villain”
😂
Poor Sandman. I remember when he reformed and joined Silver Sable. I had hoped he'd stay good but the writers couldn't let him be happy.
Hated how even after he'd been an Avenger(!), they reverted him back for a reunited Sinister Six, even w/ several viable substitutes around. Now after the Six is broke up again, he's gone for good? Hope not.
Your breakdown of comics are by far my favorite of the youtube folk doing things similar. Keep it up!
Jesus, this one hit the feels as hard as the poor homeless girl who froze to death. Or the Cancer guy that Mr Fantastic couldn't cure...
This writing for sandman is on par with the depiction of him in Spectacular Spider-Man. He dies in that show too. Okay, not really, due to the show's age rating but he would've died if they'd allow it
It’s beautiful enough to make a grown man cry, and that’s okay.
these wholesome comics make me cry
This is how spiderman comic should be! Not the crap we get today
I've hated Spider-Man for as long as I could remember. Kraven's Last Hunt has always been my favorite Spidey comic for the simple fact that Spidey dies (plus it's incredibly well written). But man, this single video has me not only rethinking that position, but doing so with tears in my eyes.
Why you hated spiderman that much?
That is such a sad story this some guys have turned into super-villains because of some event where they have bern hurt and say "screw it" theyve hurt me now I'm gonna return the favor but even though the super-hero may have to stop the villain, they can show compassion for them too theyve even saved their lives: Superman saved Lex Luthor, Batman saved the Joker, Spider-man saved the Green Giblin ect the point is theres good in everyone, but not everyone choose to be good its the choices we make that make us good or evil there is good in everyone even super-villains.
I feel like one writer always seems to crop up when mentioning great or the best Spider-Man stories… Chip Zdarsky. Dude just seems to get Spider-Man
I really like how he put the wave sound just to get the feel out of this comic😊😊
This is amazing.
But I find it funny that Chris Evens is canon.
Makes me want to be a better person.
....Did anyone else get a sad deja vu from Odin and Infinity War's Snapping?
My video buffered and it sounded like you said “the reason we all love Spider-Man is his indomitable ability to suck”! Some times the bad WiFi is funny.
i wonder what stan lee would think of how they are torturing his favorite child right now
One of the reasons Spider-Man is the embodiment of a hero
I’m not crying… I just have sand in my eyes…
Those who suffer and grieve often are most empathetic towards others.
The Sandman is my favorite character. Nothing he does is ever selfish, and most of the time is either misguided (Spectacular) or for his daughter (Toby Maguire continuity).
Such a heartwarming person.
Spider-Man While Talking to His Foe The Sandman is one of the reasons why hes so Underated in one of Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery!❤️🩹
Befriends Spider-Man immediately dies
He once joined up w/ a group of Spider-Man's ex-enemies to help him out. And as an Avenger he was ready to throw down on (the 2nd) Swordsman for badmouthing Spidey.
This guy seems like Caylus from a different channel
Spider-Man: Hello Batman from DC
Batman: Hello Spider-Man from Marvel
*Comforting a Person as They're About to Die*
This is why i love both spider man and flash, there the only heros who regularly sympathize with there villains, treating them like people not monsters (and yes i know there not the only ones as we seen batman be sympathetic with some of his villains, it's just rare with him and most other heros, but spidey and flash do it the most often)
You have improved so much in your storytelling, fantastic job!
ok, now I GOTTA know what story that is, where the green goblin and spiderman just sit and joke around
Never read that one. But unless it was Harry instead of Norman; I don't know if I'd want to. I mean, EVEN w/ him apparently "de-Goblinized"; HTF can Peter ever be so comfortable w/ Norman f-ing Osborn?
Best enemy a supervillain can wish for.
And so castles made of sand
Slips into the sea
Eventually
I wonder how Spiderman is able to keep it all together when he witnesses and experiences so many tragedies in his life.
Reminds me of the Flash from Justice League TAS
Him and the trickster he sits and talks!
0:04 I hope you go over this comic moment some time, with Spidey and Goblin
I feel like this is what's missing with the current super hero movies. Humanity. I don't know how to explain it. This level of sympathy. I feel like it's been missing lately.
It bugs me that in Spider-Man ps4 Peter abandoned Sand man in a small vial in a lost backpack.
Spider man truly is a good person i feel like he and goku would be good friends
this shit tugged on my heartstrings, spider-man sitting next to a dying sandman hits different
Remember when batman was a kinda like spiderman just a little bit darker i miss that batman
I can see the song Mr. Sandman playing at his funeral
At the end of the day
Sandman was still a human at his core
And spider man did the right thing
By treating him as a human
i love how jj and spiderman got friends
Imagine this with Tobey Maguire and Thomas Haden Church
So ...Sandman reforms, becomes a hero and gets accepted into the Avegers. Which is very credible since Flint Marko was never really about wanting to hurt people, so much as just trying to use his powers to make a quick, if illeagle, buck.
Then in order to reunite the Sinister Six, Sandman is reverted back to being a villain; despite there being three(3) suitable substitutes (Hydroman, Quicksand, or Sandstorm); and how it made the Avengers look gulible.
And now that the Sinister Six is broken uo again, he's what? Apparently disposable?
I hope not. Maybe thus was just to make him sympathetic enough to get another shot at redemption?
actually now that you mentioned it, those are my favorite moments in comic books, one of my favorite scenes is the end of the killing joke, where batman and joker just have a chat, does anyone have a list of comics with these scenes? and can mullet man bring us more like these?
literally every demonslayer episode
😭 I'm not crying. There's just sand in my eyes. 😢
Not a surprise that Superheroes are good people, most of the time, and Spiderman is probably one of the best of them.
as emotional as this is, Sandman wearing a transparent image makes me smile a lot.
I never expected to be talking about a sentimental spiderman comic with the Postal Dude
Almost reminds me of the way the Flash would take time to have a heart-to-heart with some of his enemies, like in the Justice League cartoon where he sat down with the Trickster at a bar and just kinda talked for a minute. It was refreshing in a way.
This reminds me of a quote from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "I know I'm a monster, but you treat me like a man. And I thank you for that."
