Playing this game in 2024 for the first time. It still holds up

Thanks a lot. I have a few other game lined up at the moment, but I won't completely write off the idea of a SS1 or SSRemake video. Both would definitely be worth a look.
Enhanced Edition is going to suck. It won't change any of the bad gameplay, it will only update the graphics. You're much better off using mods. It's not hard to download and install them.

If I were to describe System Shock to a newer gamer, I would describe it as Bioshock with a bit of Fallout 1 and Morrowind mixed into the gameplay.
As far as I know, the creators had to rush the last levels' development. That is why they feel... rushed, and are ultimately underwhelming. Nevertheless, brilliant game overall!
