Ever since I watched this movie a decade ago, I don't know how many times I've wathced this accordion afterwards. But for some reason the original video was removed from RUclips and I badly missed it to watch and listen. When I found it again, though not in original form as before, I'm overwhelmed. The tunes, the movements, the atmosphere, the leader-follower musical parade have so fascinating impact upon my mind and body. This fills up new energy everytime I do it. Thanks for sharing. I watched 'Holy Motors' when it was released. I am watching 'Satantango' in 2020. Four hours into the film. WOOOW! Guess I need to rewatch 'Holy Motors' now. But wooooooow!!! Never in my life have I seen such an amazing connection between so independent films.
@@elgrenudocascarrabias6936 One of the most important scenese in 'Satantango" uses this 'song'. Actually, one could say it's the scene that explains the title (could be argued though).
Holy Motors is a fantastic film and saw a comment by someone claiming that it wasn't a film because it didn't entertain them. Film is art and HM is a masterpiece. Breaking boundaries of film is important for the industry and it's such a disappointment that more films aren't like this. Luckily we have things like the Cannes Film Festival. Leos Carax, you're a genius. Continue with your unknown journeys.
Whilst i agree that the film is a series of surreal events and may even accept there isn't much of a narrative. They are linked strongly by their theme, themes about the power of cinema, the notion of character, the job of actors. Im not sure i'd proclaim this "great art" but its not a "mess" its interesting and at times stunning and it has stayed with me more than i expected.
Interpol: Lavant!!! We know you’re in that church!!! Come out with your hands up!! (Sticks head in) “What did he say?” Paris policeman (smiling): He says he’s going to French the fuck out of all of us.
You are not meant to understand the whole movie. It's cinema. Some things just escape rationality , and I found the movie to be a good aude to cinema back in cannes , with a lot of irony , I can't wait to re watch it.
It's music from a scene in the film Holy Motors. Don't know if there is more music related to this film project, but you might want to search for that movie title if you want to find more.
Ever seen Paris Je t'aime? That's not surreal, but a series of short scenes with the only interconnecting thing being the city of Paris, and that's a great movie. Holy Motors has more of a narrative than that- just think of it as one man who's forgot his identity- the only thing that's constant in his life is this woman he barely knows. Every scene adds something to his character, even if it's not completely necessary- some establish a love interest; some, the lengths he'll go to for his craft.
Not a perfect film, certainly. But interesting and Denis Lavant is amazing! innovation in cinema is always underratted. So so important. Do try and catch Holy Motors
I feel the same but the film is about history of cinematography from different continents. But I must admit trailer is so deceiving.Impression I got was that it was about assassin who changes looks to get closer to his victims or to his loved ones he can't be with no more(due to his profession),how wrong was I ha?See Lore, far better film.
I like my films to have a plot, a thread of a storyline. Surrealism is fine and wouldn't put me off a film, but this film was just a series of surreal events with nothing to link them, each scene could be seen in isolation, bits could have been left out and it would make no difference to the viewer's overall impression. There will always be those who embrace everything strange and proclaim it as great art, but I disagree, this film shambles along without a purpose, that isn't art, it's messy.

Still not sure how 1 dozen hommes playing accordion in a sewer played something that absolutely whips SO HARD

Je crois qu'il s'agit d'"How are you getting home?" des Sparks.
in the movie someone is singing on this.i want that one.any idea where i can get that?i mean in the trailer.

Do someone knows what song is played at the end of the movie (with the piano)?
Thanks!
Cheers from Brazil!
The song is " who were we " by Kylie minogue and you can find it for piano in google
Search Holy Motors in IMDb dot com and find soundtrack. Maybe "Revivre"?
the hole wasn't meant to make any native sense. I don't understand it but I enjoyed.
Are you going to have more than one?
I'm the atevet
oh si,.
I'd prefer it if this scene was repeated over and over again instead of the Kylie Minogue scene which dragged the movie to halt.
are you jesus? have you come back, lord?
At least nine.
no-one is singing over this in the movie
Where can I download this?

French cinema as always on top!
But communism then you went too ...
to me it was the only good moment in this otherwise so weird and abstract film!
Only good part of the movie(if it can be called that at all).
Poor film, too much oddity for oddity's sake, but that's a great scene.
