I'm in ontario, Canada and they still sell salt and vinegar ruffles everyehere where I live. Was discontinued for a long time but has been back for the last 2-3 years now.
I had no idea that barbecue Fritos has been discontinued? I feel like I just had some a couple of months ago. Why would they discontinue it? That doesn't even make sense. BBQ flavored chips are one of the most popular chip flavors ever
I missed out on the revival of sour cream and onion Doritos, and I hate that I did because they look awesome. So do Cajun Spice Ruffles. Another Dorito I miss is the Taco flavor, which I can never seem to find anywhere these days even though they currently exist. I used to eat Sun Chips all the time thinking they were "healthy" because they were multigrain.
about 10 years ago in Australia we had what was called Smith's Vegemite flavoured chips! Vegemite is an Australian spread that is made from yeast I think, I absolutely love them unfortunately they've disappeared never to be seen again :-(
I miss the Pizzarias chips that Keebler made in the early 90's. They were So good! I also miss Crunch Tators Jalapeno flavor. They were some of the first kettle cooked chips and had an alligator on the bag. I also miss the Salsa Rio flavoured Doritos, from when I was a kid. There was a brand of chips that I can't remember the name of, (the bags were solid colours and had silver stars on them) that had a vinegar & salt flavour that was different, it was actually very tart. Another more recent snack I loved were the Synder's Buttermilk Ranch Pieces but I can't find them anywhere now. All I can find are plain, Honey Mustard and Buffalo Wing.
My absolute favorite chips were Crunch Tators!! I loved the BBQ. Miss them soooooo much; if you watch closely in the movie Home Alone, Kevin is eating a bag 😢
They gave out free bags of crunch tators at the 89 gator bowl. We got a bunch of them but never saw them again living in West Virginia which Clemson beat that year.
I did wonder what happened to hostess. Growing up through the 80s they were ubiqitous. Still love those hickory sticks. Oh 1 item on discontinued snacks, around 98 to 99 and I don't think much beyond that planters took on Reece's with their own peanut butter cups. They were good. But did not last. Reece's still around. Thanks for the fun video answers to old questions and the memories of my childhood. I'm in the over 40 crowd so 70s/80s was my childhood.
I have literally never heard of Humpty Dumpty Chips! Also, wait a minute, you're telling me, that in Canada, in the 80s, there was a chip company, also known as Hostess?? Surprised the American snack cake company Hostess didn't sue, lol!
I miss Taco flavored Doritos from the 70's. They had a hit of citric acid that made them taste like a real taco. This was before they changed the formula of Doritos to a thinner, cheaper chip.
No other chip will ever compare to O'Grady's & the Au Gratin flavor was absolutely to die for. I gave a like to this video ONLY because O'Grady's Au Gratin was listed among those featured.

I came here searching for the brand Thunder crunch. It brought me to your video, but you don't mention that brand at all. And there don't seem to be any videos on RUclips anywhere that have anything to do with the brand. I can't even find to the old commercials, and you can find RUclips videos of old commercials for everything! I remember Hostess, and that their salt and vinegar flavour always tasted like it had a lot of butter in it for some reason. It's why we always bought Old Dutch instead.
I was in Ohio a few years ago and they had all dressed ruffles. Those are amazing. I work at fritolay and I want our factory to make them. Even if for a day for a special occasion I would not stop eating them 😂😂

Bacos are bacon bits that came in bits (crumbled) form or larger bits they called chips. Not actual chips like Lay's or Doritios.
