Kinda a shame, since that was the most exciting announcement for me. But I think the reason it was kinda unceremonious is cause they don't have any English footage ready to show off. So they just put a few seconds in to let us know that yes, we're getting the game outside Japan.

The Trails remake announcement sliding into a sizzle reel is WILD. Show stealer for me by far Heard the Japan version has a little more to go off of, will be keeping an eye out for more details for sure
not much really, a bit more combat footage, a shot of the brights with shera, that's about it really. It's set to whereabouts of light instead of the sizzle reel music though, which is a huge plus.
It's nice that it's in the Kuro engine with the action gameplay, but hopefully it preserves the original orbment system. I like the older system far more than the newer style introduced with Cold Steel.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 was the most exciting announcement for me as someone who only got into the Dreamcast in 2015. I've been wanting to try Power Stone since I got my Dreamcast but it's so expensive. So yeah now it's finally time for me to try it out
TRAILS IN THE SKY REMAKE IN A DANG SIZZLE REEL. Couldnt believe my eyes. That sky trilogy are my favorite games. Also atelier and tales of! Plus capcom vs snk1&2 and powerstone 1&2. Legend of Heroes is a series of JRPGs that dates back to 1989, with roots that go back even further than that. Trails in the Sky is the sixth game in the wider LOH series but the first game in the current “Trails” storyline. The first piece of that storyline-the Trails in the Sky trilogy-was previously localized into English but is now the only part of the Trails series that is not available on modern consoles (PS4, PS5, and/or Switch). Later entries include the Crossbell duology (Trails From Zero & Trails to Azure), Trails of Cold Steel 1-4, Trails Through Daybreak 1 & 2, and the spin-off Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails.
Castlevania, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Trails Remake, Suikoden 1 & 2, Yakuza and Tales of Graces Remastered…10/10. What was that Stalker trilogy? C’mon…for an almost eight year old console…that was great.
I actually LOVED this one, I went in with low expectations and there were some nice surprises, the Castlevania DS Collection, YAKUZA ON SWITCH I LEGIT LOST MY MIND and the Pizza Tower Switch port were my favourites

Lots of great games here including some 'Finally!' ones, the shrugged off Trials in the Sky remake and a lot more games I'm interested. The highlight for me in the Indi World was Morsels, that art style is just great! and my Partner Showcase highlight is for sure the DS Castlevania collection, was really worried they wouldn't remaster it due to the dual screens and how long has it been since the last collection, but finally, FINALLY!!! Now I want the Rebirth one (Wii), the Symphony of the Night/Bloodlines and the 3d ones.

A lot of stuff that has been playable for over a decade or more. Sure it makes it more convenient for new people to access but it’s not something that can excite as much as the new shiny unknown for most people
I'm getting a remake of one of the best JRPGs of all time Trails in the Sky so the event was a 10 out of 10 I love me some niche gaming getting remakes
The Castlevania Ds Collection is a huge win. Those were some of my first castlevania games and I always loved them. Glad they found a way to make them work on newer hardware.
If this was the swan song direct for the original Switch platform, it was a great showing. My hope is that my whole library will be playable on the next platform and it will just be better for it.
Licensing yet this 2nd collection includes Capcom x SNK titles mixed in with Capcom only titles. They can make the economics work if they wanted to. I would even be happy if it was released on its own.
The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 games are almost all SEGA Naomi Hardware game. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom ran on different hardware. It will come eventually, but it will be a while, along with all the PS1-based Capcom fighters.
It's easier to speak to SNK than to do the same to Tatsunoko/Disney (because some of the rights in the west have to go through Disney for those that don't know)
It was a decent Indie Direct and Partner showcase for me. Throes of the Watchmaker, Coffee Talk Tokyo, Star Overdrive and Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma were the highlights for me. Intrigued by the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster too as I never played anything from that series. Dragon Quest III 2D-HD continues to look great as well.
I screamed so loudly when MySims showed up in the direct! I thought EA abandoned those games forever because they couldn't milk those games for all the money in the world! There are actually 4 more games in the series: a kart racer, a party games collection, a detective/secret agent adventure (which is basically Kingdom but better), and a dogfighting plane game. I hope the other 4 make it to Switch (and maybe even other platforms) at some point.
Trails on the sky. Wow. My jaw dropped. I had no idea it was being remade. Finally. Another game im ACTUALLY excited for. Like, im waiting for the day it releases and i might take off work type excited.
The fact that Lego Horizon Adventures still just says, “Holiday 2024” is getting ridiculous. They said it at Summer Game Feast, at the last Nintendo Direct, and now this Partner Presentation. I don’t know if the voice actor strike has anything to do with it. Yakuza finally coming to the Switch is awesome 😎
Power Stone 1 & 2 is my highlight for the week. Definitely looking forward to that. I hope it gets some quality of life updates. I have never purchased one of these combo titles before.
I am excited to play those Castlevania games! I know I have them all in the collection, but I have not finished them. I knew this Direct wasn’t going to be the best, but it had a few gems I’m interested to play even if it’s for nostalgic reasons.
For me the only game in the direct I cared about was Tales of Graces F Remastered. I traded a friend for that game back in school and I played the shit out of that game on PS3 and is the game that made me a fan of the franchise and JRPGs in general.
I was expecting Xillia, but got Graces f instead. Xillia was actually _leaked_ but Graces was announced first. That said, it seems like they're making a big deal out of doing remasters for the 30th anniversary, so we're probably getting a lot in short succession. Xillia Remastered probably be in State of Play I'm guessing.

I will probably never play a majority of the Indie games, but when you can make me laugh with Date Everything!, I'll at least give credit for creativity. While no future hardware was mentioned, I'm thinking that at least one of the games we saw will have a dedicated update for it.

Peglin, Shovel Knight & Pizza Tower from the Indie, Tetris Forever + the NSO content, STALKER, Capcom fighting collection 2 and Marvel VS Capcom, The Castlevania Dominus Collection and Yakuza Kiwami are the things I'm considering from this direct... mostly retro content and retro styled content. It's what I'm into currently. So this was my kind of announcement. And probably not for the other 98% of gamers...
I also always loved peggle, there is just something about it. Peglin was also one of the few things in this one that peaked my interest. Honestly this felt like it wasn't even worth being a direct mostly as we either knew about its already, some are already on steam, or just a bit odd.
If you’re of a particular age and grew up in the 90s then a lot of the stuff at the Nintendo partner showcase/indy world was definitely for me. Capcom VS SNK fighting connection is gonna be great. I remember playing Capcom VS SNK 2 on PS2 and I absolutely loved it. In fact I used to own it back in the day fantastic beat him up just was a bit difficult to play with a PS2 controller. Can’t wait to play again on my switch. Also Tetris forever definitely is on my day one list as I’m a big fan of Tetris had it on my GameBoy back in the day and got it with my GameBoy as a birthday present back in the day absolutely the goat that game is can’t wait.
It's pretty good, better than the previous direct. There's dragon quest, suikoden, rune factory Azuma, Atelier yumiya, tales of graces, trials in the sky remake and Yakuza
The last partner showcase direct or the last direct as in the one in June? Because if it's the latter you trippin (unless you are a JRPG fan then I get it)
I’m still convinced that they packed two presentations together to clear out shop to focus more on Switch 2. Partner Showcases in general seem to crop up when Nintendo has nothing to announce but still has PR stuff to fulfill with other companies. They could’ve easily spread presentations out across the rest of the year but the way they didn’t seems to suggest that they’re up to something.
Castlevania Collection is superb, runs great on Steamdeck. The Capcom Collection looks brilliant, shame there is no Tech Romancer but its a good value package none the less. Plucky Squire is my most wanted original game.
Dawn Of Sorrow is my favourite Castlevania... I haven't played it since my DS got nicked 20 years ago but I still find myself humming the tunes from it! I EVEN liked the (divisive) touchscreen spells... I wonder how they'll be implemented?
Did you know that Kensuke Tanabe said that we shouldn't expect any more details About MP4 during this year, he didn't even know the game was still in development! I mean, wth? isn't he the Producer?
that castlevania collection could have had a vertical orientation of the dual screens for those who have a grip that turns the switch 90 degrees. would have been better imo.

A Trails of the Sky Remake...announced in 5 seconds of footage in a sizzle reel. (Japanese Direct got 55 seconds).

Trails in the Sky Remake and Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster is real!
I've been wanting Tale of Grace and Xilla remake. I'm giddy I can get Grace.
Yeah it makes no sense to lump these two together. They really like to spread them out more. That's why usually they're two separate presentations.
Worms, Castlevania, and the SpongeBob game were all I needed to call the presentation a win.
1:41 If Nintendo did start producing some custom card decks then that would be kind of poetic given how they started. Even if they are just digital.
How did you not mention Star Overdrive? That was one of the few interesting new games they showed off.
I’m so glad they figured out how to get the DS Castlevanias on other systems.
Come on guys.... Not every direct is going to be Metroid 4 event
Civilization VII is a new title, but most RUclips commentators seem to forget it when assessing the Direct.
people yakuza is a gem of game dont miss on that one
Just ignored trails in the sky the 1st remake. Come spawn what are you doing?
This direct is there just to get all of these smaller titles out of the way. Their next showcase is indubitably going to be of the Switch successor.
I think watching the recap videos is more fun than the actual direct.
Castlevania Collection is superb, runs great on Steamdeck. The Capcom Collection looks brilliant, shame there is no Tech Romancer but its a good value package none the less. Plucky Squire is my most wanted original game.
A whole lot of great old games coming out... Which is cool and all, but it's hard to get too excited about games I already have
Capcom keeps stealing my money in exchange for nostalgia. They need to be stopped!
This was S Tier for sure.
S as in above A.
Dawn Of Sorrow is my favourite Castlevania... I haven't played it since my DS got nicked 20 years ago but I still find myself humming the tunes from it! I EVEN liked the (divisive) touchscreen spells...
I wonder how they'll be implemented?
probably button prompts, but the switch DOES have a touch screen, so who knows.
Wow the Castlevania collection too 🤯
Did you know that Kensuke Tanabe said that we shouldn't expect any more details About MP4 during this year, he didn't even know the game was still in development! I mean, wth? isn't he the Producer?
that castlevania collection could have had a vertical orientation of the dual screens for those who have a grip that turns the switch 90 degrees. would have been better imo.
Capcom vs SNK 2 was a pretty sweet to see
Yakuza 1 is finally on switch, perhaps we’ll get the rest of the series onto the Nintendo’s next console/handheld.
Never thought i would see Yakuza on the Switch. Sounds like RGG and Sega are testing the waters to see if Yakuza will sell on Nintendo.
Best way to rerelease DS/3DS collections would be a Switch 2 with 2 way Joycons that you can play landscape and portrait in handheld mode.
Joycon rails on all four sides. Play in both tate and yoko mode. I like it.
