      That’s great Max. To be honest I was actually going to do this video silently and not talk as I’ve had people commenting that I talk too much and should do more bonsai. In the end I decided against that in the end due to the overwhelming number of people including yourself who comment that the explanations help. So thank you for watching and commenting.

      Any help Info would be amazing. Thanks

    • @TerryErasmusbonsai
      @TerryErasmusbonsai  Год назад

      @@haydendavies7172 that’s great! Keep in bright shade for sure not full sun for the first couple weeks then more to more sun slowly. At the moment the biggest no no is wind. Keep it out of the wind as much as possible. Don’t overwater and then also use Kelpak a few times spaced a couple weeks apart to help with transplanting stress and to re establish a new root system. Good luck. 👍🏻

    So bud swell is the best time Terry? And I presume hosing the roots with water to remove old soil would be satisfactory also? Thanks again.

    • @TerryErasmusbonsai
      @TerryErasmusbonsai  2 года назад +1

      Bud swell is the best time yes or there about’s. It’s generally accepted that you can wash the roots of deciduous trees, however not of course of conifers.

    Hi Terry, when we have to fertilize the Chinese elm bonsai and how to care it for better grow and watering ? I live in France depending on the weather. Thank you

    • @TerryErasmusbonsai
      @TerryErasmusbonsai  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your question. I cannot answer in detail here but essentially water when the medium is drying but not yet dry. Feeding throughout the growing season with balanced fertilizer (not too high in nitrogen) unless you are still in development. In that case feed heavily.

  • @BASSCHALLENGESA

    Thanks Terry, wow...your Elms are already budding...still a bit early for us here in Gauteng, I'm assuming?

    • @TerryErasmusbonsai
      @TerryErasmusbonsai  Год назад +1

      Some are budding quite a lot but others are not, this does not mean you cannot repot yet though. I have a lot of my own and even more customer's trees to repot so I need to get cracking. If you get freezing temps then you might need to be careful, we dont so its fine.

    Is the top dressing essential?

    • @TerryErasmusbonsai
      @TerryErasmusbonsai  Год назад

      Not essential no but it certainly helps with keeping the top layer moist to encourage surface rooting. It also helps to stabilise the soil.

    Can you bonsai a guava tree?

    • @TerryErasmusbonsai
      @TerryErasmusbonsai  Год назад

      Sure! The guava just won’t be any smaller and it will deplete the energy of the tree tremendously.

    Repoting with consideration of the condition of the growing media & accumulation of the root,,most of them be late because their business or have too many collections.
    Maybe we need to write down the repoting date 😂📝

    • @TerryErasmusbonsai
      @TerryErasmusbonsai  2 года назад

      Yes, it can get really busy around repotting time and if you have a large collection of trees it’s easy to fall behind.
