    Just curious. I wonder if it would be possible to compress the spring just enough to get it in and release it. Maybe with straps or some type of metal bands or a actual spring compressor or ratchet straps. Then maybe you wouldn’t have to drop so much stuff to get the axle to come down.

    Did the ride height change ?
    I think I need new coils on my 03 but I don’t want it to ride higher .

    • @mdzautomotive
      @mdzautomotive  3 месяца назад

      It did for me because I upgraded to the z71 coils as well as 1/2" spacers. If you get the same coils and no spacers you will maintain the same ride height..

    hey buddy thanks for the video. i amost have same kinda setup on my Yukon. Do you consider to upgrade your track bar in future? and did you notice any kind of weight shiftinh after install coils with spacerS?

    • @mdzautomotive

      Hey bro, I dont have the Tahoe anymore, this video was 2 years ago. But yes, I did install a new rear track bar and I did a video on it also. I didn't notice any kind of weight shift after the install. I did the front shocks too and it kind of just leveled everything out.

    doing this on my escalade rn but how will i get my 3" coil spacer to fit ? do i need too compress the coil spring

    • @mdzautomotive
      @mdzautomotive  3 года назад

      Your spacer will fit if you drop the axle low enough to be able to fit it in there, if you are using a shop lift this shouldn't be a problem. If you are on the ground the rear end should be lifted high enough at the frame on both sides to be able to drop the axle low enough for your spacers. 3" is quite a stretch so its possible you may have to disconnect the rear brake lines (also called drop lines) that are above the rear diff to avoid damaging or breaking them. Hope this helps!

    • @mdzautomotive
      @mdzautomotive  3 года назад +1

      I did a video on putting on new coil springs and spacers if you have a minute to check it out. That might help give you a better visual...

    How high were jack stands?...duno if my set up high enough

    • @mdzautomotive
      @mdzautomotive  3 года назад +1

      Not 100% sure how high, I'd say about 2/3 of the way extended...but its going to mainly depend on your tahoe, some sit lower than others so you may need to raise it less. A general rule of thumb would be to raise it high enough to be able to lower the axle down enough to be able to remove the coil springs. I hope this helps!
