The Tourbillon looks amazing and would be a fantastic asset at the park. I think you’re spot on with more covered areas having experienced the moaning from children after getting wet or having not enough shaded areas during a long day at the park. Some great ideas, loved the video.

Good point, I personally agree that these areas are needed by a number of family and people who come to the parks.

I am SO pumped for this! This is exactly what I've been hoping Merlin would do with Thorpe Park for quite a while now! As a life long fan of Thorpe Park it's honestly made me feel really sad how unloved it's felt in recent years. Felt like Merlin were rather neglecting it while the other UK parks got investment and upgrades. A couple of years of spending the necessary budget on operations and presentation and Thorpe could really be on top again

    • @themeparkperspective

Most definitely. It really is incredible to see Thorpe getting some much needed love and attention.

Things I’d love to see at the park which would also be a good fit:
Rumba Rapids get a full refurbishment with lots of improvements.
Storm Surge getting removed as it’s ugly af and not even a good ride, replace it with lots of trees, flowers , fountains, and just a nice garden type area with lots of shade and places to chill.
Walking Dead to be rethemed back to X so there’s an actual family coaster at the park which makes way more sense for that rides layout.
Add a modern Huss breakdance in front of X which would fit with the lightning, music and overall atmosphere of that area. The removal of storm surge would help fit this ride in.
The park is also in desperate need of a new modern family coaster so I’d add a Mack family multi launch coaster similar to Manta at sea world San Diego, this type of ride would be like nothing else at the park, be a great ride, have a low height requirement , and also be made by Mack who Merlin is now working with. I’d have the station where slammer is as that’s quite a big area if you remove black mirror labyrinth aswell, and I’d have the track going all around that area, going around the pathway where saw alive used to be (big open space now) and also have it weave in and out of the trees in the area that storm surge used to be.
And finally an RMC / massive GCI on the island next to the swarm and connect all the pathways

    • @themeparkperspective
      @themeparkperspective  10 месяцев назад

I definitely agree, Rumba rapids needs some love, and I think you are bang on the money with Storm Surge. I think they could do with you as an advisor.

I think an RMC on swarms island would be insane. And not any RMC something like Hakugei and something of that calabre. Hyperia will be amazing but the UK needs something that can be seen as top 10 or even top 5 in the world. It would Massively put Thorpe Park on the map along side Hyperia. Also 3 coasters over 200 ft would be insane.

I think if Universal GB gets the green light it’ll force Thorpe Park and Alton Towers to invest in lots of new rides and entertainment because they’ll have Universal compete with, which will be epic for both Universal and Thope Park, or tho it could be years until we find out about Universal GB 😢

I believe They are adding more shelters the park and queues as I think they mentioned it at the start of Project Sparkle as one of their plans.
I've been saying for ages that Ghost Train, Slammer, TWD, Black Mirror and Storm Surge are all mediocre experiences and would provide an INSANELY LARGE plot of land for the to work on.
The only issue with them having a MACK Extreme Spinner is it requires a LOT of maintenance, and quite frankly I wouldn't trust Merlin with that one little bit...

    • @themeparkperspective

The shelter info is great, and is something which I can see myself being extremely grateful for when the summer hits. And good point for the slammer area of the park, and to be honest I think at this point any new ride at all will be a darn site better than one ride which is SBNO and another which I am not a big fan of 😂
