Profit is the main goal of ANY professional detailer. Anyone who says different is a liar or idiot. You need to keep the cost of tools and products at a reasonable level. $100 a gallon soap is all nicely colored and smells good and probably cleans great too, but it’s eating in to your bottom line. Especially when you’re first starting out in this profession. I started detailing professionally in 1986 and have had enormous support through mentors and apprenticeships throughout the years. I have been fortunate to learn what to do and (probably more importantly) what not to do as a detailer. Cheap versus expensive … is there relevant comparisons? The short answer is no. Most detailing products available are going to perform on a level that doesn’t care about pricing. APC’s, degreasers, soaps, polish, wax, coatings, glass cleaners, etc., are all going to perform fairly similar. If someone argues over that, they’re just splitting hairs or have bought into the latest hype. That doesn’t mean the quality is the same as the costs go up. Generally speaking, you get what you pay for. Do you “need” 20 times the lubricity of something that’s already well lubricated? Do you “need” an aggressive degreaser more than just a regular one? You can get all those things, but I would argue that “need” factor. 😊😊😊
I’m a DIY detailer and only maintain my personal vehicles. The price of the products certainly matters to me but more so the value. Which, to me, is the price as compared to performance. I like a balance between those. Thanks for the content.
For maintenance jobs, cheap products will usually get the job done. However, the more expensive ones will typically be both easier to use and more effective, thus saving time.
It doesn’t matter because the Customer just wants results. My affordable Turtle Wax line of products proved that for me 4 years ago👀👍. Customers were pleased and The exterior turned heads and that’s the proof I latched onto👍

awesome vid…my favs are p&s brake busta and adams, but on my regularly maintained vehicles a gentle apc all day urvyday, all clean and stjaranagloss forst when i want that beautiful citrus scent! … lol “i don’t care who you are” 😆🐿️💨
@@SF.Automotive right on, i feel the exact same about flag tipped wheel brushes 🐿️💨 wheel mitts and and microfiber towels for rims over here. maybe that’s why brake busta works so well for me 😜
Brake Buster is overrated, it's okish. Adams easily takes the cake here. For maintenance wash, even Super Klean / Simple Green trumps BB for price and performance.
When you have heavily hammered wheels like that it's always better to spray them down before applying any cleaner to prevent any damage. You might try to put some laquer thinner on a microfiber towel & wipe it before trying anything else then just wash it with whatever you're washing the car with it should work out
Great comparison - sometimes cheap is fine, but as you demonstrated, sometimes it ends up costing in the long run! Eddie got me on Maniac W&T (and it was in a GloveBox!) and that has been amazing! But as just an enthusiast, I don't have to think about cost per use as much as a business owner would have to.
9 times out of 10, TECHNIQUE will trump product. A good detailer can make (just about) any product work, but as you mentioned, can it be done in one pass, or will it take multiples passes (sometimes product makes a difference, but it's the exception in many cases). That being said, it is usually considered 'Best Practice' to start gentle and get more aggressive if it's called for, so maybe the product that does take more than one pass is the better choice, since maybe it's not so strong that it causes damage ... another reason I don't like "Disaster Details," they come in so bad, that you're tempted or moved to try the more aggressive product 1st, instead of starting off slower. All in all though, good video and content.
Really?? Wow thank you!!! I will definitely check! Maybe it’s clogged-I actually did think the consistency was off but was more focused on recording I guess lol thanks again 🙏
I thought about that after lol I usually do…I was just trying to show the chemicals ability without being diluted at all…but it would’ve helped for sure!
@@DetailsNMe I like to see the comparisons between products because I get to know where to spend my money at the end of the day so thank you for doing this
Wilson auto detailing has an interesting short called ''Clean tires & wheels FAST'' I highly suggest you watch it relating to his tyre cleaning process.

Kristi might I suggest Meguiar’s liquid Cleaner wax for those stains and blemishes left on that wheel from that wheel cleaner
Really??? Yes!!! Thank you for the suggestion!!! Do you just hand apply??
@@DetailsNMe hand or machine because it comes in16oz bottle. Don’t get the paste form. I got mine from Amazon 🤗🤗🤗

Would you pre rinse the wheels before applying the wheel cleaner for future reference?
I usually pretreat/prerinse..yes!!!!.. for this video I was really just trying to see what the chemical itself could do….

Exactly me too…but this was a great lesson…and I take total accountability-I never think to do test spots…now I will!!
From my experience that Bleach White may be the best White Wall cleaner ever period!
I was surprised at how well it worked!!

Your Retyre should be foamier check your spray nozzle.

Yes one of the best things from retyre is the actual foam does half the job pulling up the dirt. Still better then Any product foam or not.
They are apc with iron remover
You forgot to rinse your wheels before spraying on Adams. It would do a better job trust me.
