Stress, anger, depression, and other distractions are intuitive blocks. Intuition is a whisper that you need to quietly listen for.

Biggest block to infj intuition is the INFJ personality itself!

How many times do I hear “you don’t know everything” or “you’re not always right” and I do not claim that I know all and am always right. But when you so clearly know what’s going on and see how a problem could be solved it’s so very hard to be quiet. But in order to be accepted it’s a must.

Fear screams loudly in the front of my head when it panics. But sometimes it disguises itself as what's "sensible."
Intuition whispers to me to encourage exploration.
Oh yeah, also I'm 10k words into my book!

This was great clarification about our INFJ (P) "superpower". I really nodded along as you were talking about how fear (our fear center) is the reason we want to be able to harness our intuition but fear is at the same time a big blocker of our intuition. Since I have become aware of being an "intuitive" I have started to see how that quiet little voice works and you are exactly right about how it guides us to make changes and stretch ourselves. But it does so on its own timetable and not by our prodding. I was brought up to believe that this was the still small voice of God, and maybe it could still be attributed to God by a person of faith, but its more helpful now to see it as within me and ready to help me as I need guidance to make choices...if I will just settle down and listen. Thank you Lauren!

I recently started doing a lot of shadow work and found a huge passion for it. During meditation I asked for a sign in what my next step should be. The next day a guy came knocking on my door looking for donations for a local sobriety center. I gave him a donation and threw away the pamphlet. Then went rifling through my garbage because everything in my being was screaming at me to call the number to volunteer. I kept overthinking everything about it (if i was seeing things because I wanted to or if this was actually the sign I was looking for.) not to mention the full body anxiety that I'm feeling about it. Needless to say your video highly resonates and giving me the proverbial kick in the ass that I apparently needed.

When you listen to your inner voice, you might find yourself facing choices. For example, you might be planning to go left, but your inner voice nudges you to go right. If you trust that voice and turn right, sometimes you’ll find out right away why that decision was a good one. Other times, the reason might become clear later on.
To start this process, it helps to consciously ask your higher power-whether you call it God, the Universe, or your inner strength-something like, “How can I…?” This way, you’re opening yourself up to guidance. Once you let that question go, your subconscious mind starts working on it.
You might receive answers in unexpected ways: maybe you’ll hear something on TV, or a friend will say something that triggers an insight. Your inner voice is powerful and can guide you in many ways; you just need to learn to recognize it.
Take time to reflect and listen closely to the tone of your inner voice. You already know it well, and you can’t deny its presence. The more you practice this, the easier it will become to hear and trust that voice.
I hope this helps you understand how to connect with your inner guidance!

My intuition doesn't really act as a motivator like that, it acts more as a warning than anything else. It tends to serve me best by assessing integrity in others. Even when I have no evidence of dishonesty, I will still get a sense that someone feels unsafe to me.
I used to ignore it because I didn't know it was intuition, I thought it was just underlying anxiety or insecurity or something, but that landed me in a relationship with a narcissist!. Once I started heeding that sense of danger, I was actually able to let go of the mistrust and fear I was carrying with me and I stopped having to maintain an exhausting hypervigilance to protect myself.

When my narcissistic parent wanted me to become a narc as well, he encouraged me to talk to people. So when my intuition is telling me to do something, it is like this big inside anxiety like the one before one big exam. Before executing it, I say to myself if it gets bizarre, at least I will be able to say some funny past stories of myself, to my grandchildren (if one day I have kids by myself. If not to neighbours children) kids love those unusual stories.
Of course when I finally lived the situation, my intuition put me through; I analyse it. After all I'm an INFJ.

Thanks Lauren. I'm going through a very challenging time right now and this video helped me remember how to reconnect to my intuition and distinguish it from the anxiety and trauma voices that are so much louder.
One thing I can add, and that is often missing with these kinds of talks, is to emphasize that a risk really is a risk. There is no guarantee that it will work out. I've taken a number of risks in my life - some guided by intuition, and some not. Most of them have not worked out well, and while I have learned something each time, I can't say that the learning has paid off or made my next decision a better one. It's important to know that if you take risks you may well fail repeatedly, even as you are learning and growing, and that it is imperative to find a way to make peace with that.

  • @ricardogarza-f6b

It's a lack of trust. I believe that my intuition comes from God. So, I do things that nurture my relationship with him. Prayer, meditation, attending church services regularly are things that I've found to help impede that fear of "what if it's not right!" Allowing me to trust.

I guess I kind of assumed all INFJs recognize and depended on their intuition or "gut feeling". Mine seems to be in overdrive most of the time, and tends to help warn or steer me away from something negative or not the best choice, as apposed to providing me with the perfect answer, decision or magic combination of numbers.

Is intuition the voice of God?
I'm very intuitive but, I've CLEARLY heard words loud and clear that told me what decision to make and I just knew it was right.
After criticism from everyone around me about the choice I made, doubt seeped in so I prayed again.
This time I asked for an answer that couldn't be mistaken and obvious. Immediately after I stopped praying I instantly got an answer. Out was elegant, beautiful, and simple!! Yet, I didn't think of it...
Anyway, do you differentiate? Because I knew those two examples were from God.
The answers I was given are against logic and not what I would want to do but, I have a certainty that's the right choice.
@Lauren can you speak to this?

Sorry but I don’t really agree. Connecting with your intuition is not about looking at a crystal ball. It’s about connecting with that still voice that guides you through life. If someone is connecting to their intuition to see the future or to feel safe they’re doing it for the wrong reasons. I’m not sure most people are doing it for that reason.
