Really interesting hearing about the American story. I love your stories and little trip round! There are literally pumpkins everywhere! Love it. I fancy pumpkin soup now! It’s one really cold here in Cornwall. 🥶😍💖 Love and hugs my friends ❤❤❤

Interesting topic Brit Girls! the history of pumpkins with Native Americans to the modern pumpkin spice obsession, this was such a fun video! 🍂 The way you break down the cultural differences between the UK and the U.S. on this fall favorite is really cool, especially the bit on Starbucks’ PSL takeover! The variety of pumpkins you found are so unique and full of character, who knew there were so many? 🎃 Plus, I loved hearing that pumpkins were once a ‘cure’ for freckles and snake bites; a true multi-purpose veggie! What do we “overdo” in the USA? You’ll probably say “everything “ but if you’re referring specifically to the pumpkin craze, I for one have never been a fan of it. I was born and raised in the USA.
We are certainly more understated in the UK - unless it is a royal occasion, lol! We really enjoy filming our store tours - we're glad you enjoy them too! 🤗❤️
Sorry I missed your premier. I was out exploring. Crazy to think how pumpkin is used in so many things. Didn't realise there is so many available good video, The Brit Girls 🎃
Hey there gorgeous girls, Lookin all festive! Aw the pink pumpkins were really cute.. Lily and Layla look adorable! That’s fascinating how all the pumpkin craze began.. Wow so much food made with pumpkin. That’s a hella lot of $ on pumpkin… Lol what should be simple often becomes difficult.. I can’t even imagine if I’d like pumpkin spice, as I’ve said before, we have it savoury here… I did not know pumpkin was a fruit. Wow what a clever way to recycle pumpkin shells… Woah that’s one big pumpkin that was grown in New York.. Unbelievable how many pumpkins and varieties there are. Fascinating that pumpkin seeds can help men with prostate problems.. I hope Lucy enjoyed ‘The smashing pumpkins’ Fabulous and fun to watch as always you spectacular beings. Have a wonderful safe day, keep shining in your fabulousness ❤️🌸💕💜🌸
Thanks so much for watching, and for all your wonderful comments! ❤️ We appreciate you coming on this pumpkin spice journey with us! 🧡🤗 You are so kind with your generous support of our channel. Have a fabulous week, gorgeous girl! ❤️💐🌟🪻🧡
Great video girls. And yessss... Why are they obsessed with pumpkin spice? Personally, I can't stand it, haha.... (Pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks, I avoid it at all cost. But gingerbread latte... yes please Sir Mam) Great upload girls, it was fun to watch. 🙂 Happy Sunday from Shanghai.... Thomas
Thanks for watching and for leaving a great comment, Thomas! We need to try the gingerbread latte! We really appreciate you coming to our premiere. Wishing you a lovely week ahead 🤗❤️

I have to say, I am also obsessed with pumpkin 😂🎃 I looove pumpkin seeds, my PSL hahaha!! And any pumpkin dessert! I love the home goods stuff too 🤣 oh and followed by a visit to Starbucks, love it!! A perfect pumpkin day! Greg’s favorite Halloween treat is those Reese pumpkins lol. Wow a remedy for snake bites? Fantastic video as always ladies! 😊💕
Hi Meg, sounds like you are a true pumpkin enthusiast! 🎃 It certainly was a perfect pumpkin day! 😄 Many thanks for watching and for your kind message 🧡
So much pumpkin stuff 😂 I don’t like the pumpkin spiced coffees but regular pumpkin things like seeds are cool 😂 Love the clip of you mimicking the pumpkin guy 😂
Great overview of all the different applications of pumpkin and a little history. I think it’s pretty simple that we have Halloween and Thanksgiving all in a month of each other and I’m sure that is why pumpkins are so popular and fall and also that’s when they become ripe.
All American Dogs!😂 Pumpkin is my favorite flavor!! I’m obsessed with it!🤣 Halloween is my favorite holiday so it only makes sense.🎃 The Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew at Starbucks is also delicious! Thanks for the video. Happy Pumpkin Season!!🎃🎃🎃
Oh, those pumpkin spice cold brews are so delicious! 🧡😋 Haha, glad to hear you're one of those Americans obsessed with pumpkin spice, lol! 😂 Many thanks for your fun comments! 🤗❤️
I never thought of our love for pumpkin before, but I think you have a point. I think there is definitely a nostalgic factor. I know when I smell pumpkin flavoring I automatically think of the fall. Plus, I am a big fan of pumpkin fan. The funny part is I am not really a starbucks person so I have never had a pumpkin spice drink LOL.
Hi John, thanks very much for sharing your thoughts on the subject. As soon as Fall begins, my American husband goes out and buys lots of pumpkin-scented candles! I must admit, the house smells wonderful!
Hello my lovely Lucy and Julie 👋. I really love ❤️ pumpkins soup, and the Hokkaido just put some salt and pepper with olive oil then in oven hmmm yummy 😋. That’s why I’m happy during this seasons. It took back me first I came here in Germany 🇩🇪. I saw a huge and different sizes and colors. It’s really fun and even they decorated. Just came home today from our 2 weeks vacation from Africa. Thank you 🙏🏻 for sharing. Have a great day. ❤️👍😘
I'm not that fond on Pumpkin spice and it pains me that Starbucks, Greggs even the supermarkets are pumpkin spiced obsessed! I'm much more a toffee apple kinda gal! Interesting to hear about it's history and origins, can see why it's so popular there! Ahhh, always so fun and engaging to watch and enjoy! Thank you Julie and Lucy, you always entertain! xx
Well I won't make the 'squashed a lot into that video' pun again but that was a nicely themed video. Having enjoyed some Thanksgivings in the US, I'm a big fan of pumpkin pie! Thanks for the video.
LOL, it was a good pun - worth repeating! 👍😂 Ah, you've experienced some Thanksgivings in the US? We love the Thanksgiving celebrations over here. Oh yes, pumpkin pie is delicious! Many thanks for coming along to our premiere and for your fun and interesting comments.
Look at the cool pumpkin decorations and pumpkins with attractive colors Nice to see everything This is really a great review that you delivered until the end of the show Bravo See you around
Never carved a pumpkin or had pumpkin soup so it is even less with me, never been in Starbucks either - I need to get out more! Cannot believe the fascination with pumpkins over there but if it good for you, I suppose I should give it a go. OMG I have never even heard of The Smashing Pumpkins, never mind seeing them live - I defiantly need to get out more, cheers Alan
You definitely need to get out more, Mr. Metalman! 😅😂 Btw, my favourite coffee chains in the UK are Pret a Manger and Costa. Many thanks, Alan. Happy Sunday! 🤗❤️

Woof watching premiere besties Julie and Lucy ❤ I am impressed how this is . It’s not that much here . But I will look for this here and think of you and this video ❤😂 We love you so much ❤pumpkin pie 🥧 pumkin jam 🎃 so cool ! You order too 😂 So awesome 🤩 Love from Hendo and Rita
Gee whiz you guys across the pond have pumpkin overload with everything pumpkin! We are seeing a lot more appearing in 🇬🇧 so think we are following suit! Loved hearing the history! Can’t believe they can weave the skin to make mats! This was so interesting and really fun, thanks ladies 👍❤️
Ooh, interesting you're seeing that the UK is following suit with the pumpkin craziness! Many thanks for your interesting comments. Hope your week is off to a great start! ❤️🤗
A lawyer went into court carrying a heavy briefcase. He won. Afterwards, he said to the defendant ‘I rest my case’! I made that up- sorry! 😊 Uncle Dicky.
I've always wondered this myself. Makes sense that the Native Americans used them! Ahh yeah and the Starbucks branding 😅 Pumpkin Patches are big now in the UK and it seems all kids are going to them to pick up a pumpkin at about 5 times the supermarket price. When I was a kid, rather than pick up a pumpkin, it was p-p-p-pick up a penguin! Loved the cream confusion 😅 Also did not know pumpkin was a fruit! Wow, so many companies have jumped on the pumpkin spice bandwagon 😅 hope you enjoyed the Smashing Pumpkins concert Lucy! 🎸🎃🤘
Hi Matt, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the subject! Haha, I remember going to p-p-p-pick up a penguin too! 😂 I had a great time at the Smashing Pumpkins concert-they were brilliant! 🤘🧡🎸🎵
Yes it's definitely spreading in the UK now, I saw lots of pumpkin themed things in the shops here this year - and the coffee shops too. Interestingly there was a feature on the radio this week about how bonfire night is declining as Halloween grows. I think that process will continue. Warmest wishes from Millionaire Paul 👋
Hi Paul, you were one of several Brits who have commented on the American pumpkin craze spreading to the UK. It's sad to hear that our Bonfire night is declining. A friend commented that he heard more fireworks around Halloween than on November 5th. Best wishes for a lovely week ahead 😊👍
OOOOH I wanted to be there..but we have table guests - yes, again. Friends coming for dinner. I /we gave them a double dinner voucher for their birthday recently. So I'll have to wait till Monday to watch. Have a ball during the premier. 🇳🇱🙋♀🥝🎃
Hello Julie and Lucy, enjoyed your pumpkin adventure, there were lots of nobbily ones weren't there. We have never tried pumpkin anything, not sure I fancy it in a coffee, great video, take care of yourselves x Julie and Tony x
It is true about the obsession. Some love it and others just don’t get it. I do like it at this time of year, but wouldn’t want it the rest of the year.
Julie I remember you enjoying pumpkin bread. I made some already sans pecans but with mini dark chocolate chips. Not bad. About pumpkin spice - Unless a recipe actually calls for real pumpkin most products out today have none. Its all about the spices used to make to make pumpkin pie so distinct by taste & smell. Just open your spice cabinet & bring out the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves & ginger & there is your 'Spice'! Wishing you , Rog, Lucy & Ryne a Happy Thanksgiving
Hi Georgianna, I certainly do remember that delicious pumpkin bread! Yum! Thank you for explaining that it is the spices which give the foods that distinctive pumpkin taste and that most products today have no real pumpkin in them! I didn't realize that! We really appreciate your kind support. Happy Thanksgiving to you too ❤️😊
Good question! I am one of the pumpkin flavor enthusiast but normally only in the fall season - perhaps limited time makes it better The nostalgia is likely true I did have a pumpkin spice latte today.... Cheers 👍
Good afternoon ❤❤! Its crazy all the thing they are coming up with. I actually fell for it yesterday...Pumpkin Pie turnovers at Arbys! Lol. They Were pretty good. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.
Pumpkin everything seems to have exploded hasn’t it! I’m not really a pumpkin spice drink person but it I do like pumpkin soup! I love all the decor you showed and learning all about pumpkins! I do have some pumpkin/fall items I like to put out for fall and it’s fun to carve them. 👍😊🇨🇦
Well, without going into too much US history, most Americans grew up with pumpkin everything! It reminds us of autumn, which reminds us of US Thanksgiving. And Thanksgiving is the unofficial start of the US Christmas season. Christmas is the ultimate feel-good winter celebration. Autumn and pumpkin go together. Pumpkin to us is always a precursor to Christmas Day.
I was born and raised in the US. Pumpkin pie and pumpkin seeds are the only pumpkin related foods I grew up with (never cared for it though) and the same is true for most Americans (unless maybe you grew up on a farm lmao). Besides that, pumpkin carving for Halloween was the only pumpkin related activity most American kids took part in.
That makes perfect sense, thanks for explaining, Perry 😊 We really appreciate you attending our premiere and for your continued support for our channel. Thank you so much ❤️😊
I am not a fan of pumpkin anything. Not the latte or the pie. But it is supposed to be really good for your pets health. But I love your video. It’s so informative.
Because it's AWESOME! Okay, we'll wait and actually watch. Hmm... never heard of this "Starbucks" but it sounds like they might be onto something 😁 Hope y'all are having an awesome holiday - that one (lovely!) photo reminded us that we have leftover Reese's Pumpkins to eat. Better get to it 🎃
Lucy- you dirty stopout, staying out late to watch a pumpkin by band- I hope you didn’t get too smashed! ( another terrible joke , I’m afraid!) Uncle Dicky. 😍
My then wife and I were performing a Mozart operatic duet for my teacher in my lesson. We were about 2/3rds of the way into it, and she said-‘I’m not feeling it between you both at all! My wife suddenly blurted out ‘ that’s because I’m having someone else at the moment!!- shall bring him in… (Charming- I divorced her soon after!!) Uncle Dicky. 😢
Hiya Julie and Lucy, I've found another 2 historical channels, its called the house of Lechmere and Jack The Ripper tour, there both really good, just to let you know, this is Choppy
Speaking as an American we are NOT ALL “COMPLETELY OBSESSED” with Pumpkin Spice and as you observed in your video yes it has a lot to do with Starbucks regarding why it became such a fad but I am old enough to remember when it wasn’t a fad and before the mid to late 1990s (when Starbucks got big) the only pumpkin related things that were indeed popular as foods were pumpkin pie (which I never liked not even a little bit) and pumpkin seeds (which aren’t all that great in my opinion either). Oh and the whole pumpkin craze thing is only a seasonal phenomenon that starts around Halloween time and tends to fade after the Holiday Season (Thanksgiving and Christmas) is over. I couldn’t tell from watching this video whether or not you embraced the pumpkin craze but the title kinda suggests maybe you don’t? If so I wouldn’t blame you. Jack-o-lanterns are cool though. I had fun carving them as a kid.
Thank you for your interesting and insightful feedback. Some of our British viewers commented that the pumpkin craze is creeping into the UK now, following the lead of the United States. We were surprised to find that we actually enjoyed the taste of the famous Pumpkin Spice Latte when we taste-tasted it for the first time in September. Maybe living in America for a number of years has gradually changed our taste buds? Haha! Have a great week!
I too was curious about the 'pumpkin craze' and still am really. Why? 🤣🎃! I love pumpkin too, a much used vegetable in New Zealand and Australia. Wasn't that popular here till early 2000s. When I arrived back in the Netherlands pumpkin was hard to find. Now it is like in USA, a rage. I had a pumpkin spiced latte and wondered what the fuss was about. I bake with it, cook with it and enjoy eating it. I wonder if all those 'pumpkin products' actually have pumpkin in them or are artificially flavoured with pumpkin? Did you check that? I love your research videos. Have a lovely Tuesday. 🎃🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
Hi Anita, thank you for sharing your thoughts about the pumpkin craze!🎃🧡 Good question, most of these products don't have actual pumpkin in them. They use various spices to achieve the taste such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. I wish we had clarified that! 🙄😂 Happy Tuesday to you too! 🤗🧡🍂
The title of your video is provocative (probably by design to get more clicks and views) but it makes it sound like all of us Americans are mindless drones that will happily consume anything labeled “pumpkin spice” when in reality it’s mostly Starbucks customers who are obsessed with the pumpkin spice. This wholesale stereotyping of Americans does remind me though of how the Obamas, democrats, and leftwing people generally promote the idea that white people are inherently racist. I find it puzzling how a white person could support politicians who promote such hateful rhetoric toward their own ethnicity. I guess one would have to be a liberal/feminist to support such rhetoric . At least your thumbnail is cute though, lol :)
Yes, our thumbnail is deliberately provocative but we are genuinely amazed and baffled by the obsession with pumpkin spice over here! We hope you enjoy the video 😊
Around where I live, there seems to be loads of rotting pumpkins (oooogh!) Shame. Uncle Dicky.’ Norfolk folks have no sense of humour. We were supposed to enter something in the allotment competition, so I found a rotting raspberry to show… The adjudicator said’it’s too small to qualify. What a dumpling! 😂

Hi ladies 👋 I like pumpkins as a decoration, but I don't like the taste of pumpkin 😅 It does seem like the pumpkin craze has worsened over the years, lol
Thanks for your feedback! We love pumpkins for decorating too 😊🧡If you don't like the taste of pumpkin the season must be a bit of a nightmare, lol! Hope you're having a great week! 🤗
I cannot wait to hear your analysis. But to speed up your research a little bit, we grew up with it. Much like mashed potatoes and turkey at Thanksgiving.
You're right, pumpkin spice is such a seasonal staple for Americans! We're always curious to learn more about these kinds of things! Thanks, Perry. Happy Wednesday!
I have been critised for sending cringy jokes to you! ( the cheek of it?!) As for jokes of a sexual nature, I sincerely apologise to you both, and they won’t happen again. Sorry if I have offended you. Uncle Dicky.
Ahh, we just seen the message you received. Please do not worry, Richard. We enjoy reading your comments and are so happy you enjoy our channel so much xx
Hello Richard. I’ve been reading your comments and normally I wouldn’t care so much or say anything but despite the fact that I didn’t vote for Trump (I didn’t vote for any candidate in this election) I wonder why you would apologize about Trump when the comments you write on the Brit Girls channel make Trump’s remarks look tame by comparison. For example, your comments on the Brit Girls video where they give advice to those who are interested in dating British women; your comments are extremely sexually suggestive, inappropriately so, and your cringey jokes are in bad taste to say the least. Since I believe in freedom of speech I won’t demand that the Brit Girls cancel you (not that they would) because first and foremost I don’t believe in censorship (and I like to believe the Brit Girls don’t either, fingers crossed) but also I believe they tolerate your comments because the more comments they receive, the better it is for the algorithm that makes their channel more visible to potential subscribers. Anyway I hope you’re not crying to hard about the results of this election and I wish you a pleasant evening.
@@toni6379thankyou for your comments. I love cringy jokes, so I will continue to send them! As for sexually suggestive comments, I take your point, and will refrain from posting them in the future.

Hi August, thanks for your fun feedback 😀👍Hope you're having a great week! 🧡🍂
Great overview of all the different applications of pumpkin and a little history. I think it’s pretty simple that we have Halloween and Thanksgiving all in a month of each other and I’m sure that is why pumpkins are so popular and fall and also that’s when they become ripe.
Thanks for your insightful comments 🧡😊 Best wishes for a great week ahead.
Awesome ladies, keep it coming
We're so glad you enjoyed the video! 😊Thanks, Lee!
That was fun in the drive- thru!

Pumpkin patch pasta, marshmallows, candles wow there is so much variety there. Pumpkin lattes seem pretty popular now 😊
Yes, so much pumpkin variety! 😀🎃 It's hard to escape it, lol. Several people commented that the craze is starting to appear in the UK too!
Hello dear Kenn, thank you for all of your wonderful comments. We hope you had a fabulous vacation. Best wishes ~ Lucy & Julie 🤗❤️🤗
Thank you Julie and Lucy, you always entertain! xx
Hi Alessa, thanks for your fun feedback! Ooh, so Greggs has jumped on the pumpkin spice bandwagon too? Wow. Wishing you and Brett a brilliant week xx

Never carved a pumpkin or had pumpkin soup so it is even less with me, never been in Starbucks either - I need to get out more! Cannot believe the fascination with pumpkins over there but if it good for you, I suppose I should give it a go. Uncle Dicky.
It made me chuckle, Uncle Dicky! 😂 Thank you! 😍
Nicely done ladies love watching your video and I have to say pumpkin spice is amazing! 🥰😍☺

It is true about the obsession. Some love it and others just don’t get it. I do like it at this time of year, but wouldn’t want it the rest of the year.
Thank you for your feedback. I think we appreciate things more when we don't have them all the time. Pumpkin is perfect for the Fall season 🧡
Your dogs look so smart and cool!
R.
Aw, thank you, Richard 🥰

A good question!! 🤣😂
What do you mean US Thanksgiving? What other Thanksgiving is there? 😅
@@Hola-ro6yv
Canada has its own Thanksgiving.
@@Hola-ro6yv
I said most Americans love it.
That makes perfect sense, thanks for explaining, Perry 😊 We really appreciate you attending our premiere and for your continued support for our channel. Thank you so much ❤️😊

What a coincidence! That sounds nutritious and delicious! 🧡🤗
@@The_Brit_Girls yes, and very autumnal 😉

I am not a fan of pumpkin anything. Not the latte or the pie. But it is supposed to be really good for your pets health. But I love your video. It’s so informative.
Hi Pattie, thank you for sharing your thoughts about pumpkin-flavored products and for your kind words about the video 🧡🤗

You should! It's really delicious! Many thanks for watching, Cara. Have a great week ahead! 😊❤️
Hi 👋 I may have to catch up a little later in the week as I’ve got family over this week 😁
No worries, Yasmin. It's kind of you to let us know. Have a lovely time with your family x

@The_Brit_Girls 👍👍
@ 🤣🤣🤣 new subject for next year 🎃
Pumpkin bananas? For dogs? How weird. Oh, and you now have a president who looks like a pumpkin!
“oRaNgE MaN BaD” LMFAO! TDS detected 😂😂😂
LOL!! 🤣😂😂 So true!! 🤭😆
Is a pumpkin spice junkie an arrestable offence?!
😊
Uncle Dicky.
Haha, it should be!!! 😂😆
I don’t know why you bother to watch the Brit Girls when they obviously irritate you!
Yes, our thumbnail is deliberately provocative but we are genuinely amazed and baffled by the obsession with pumpkin spice over here! We hope you enjoy the video 😊
Around where I live, there seems to be loads of rotting pumpkins (oooogh!)
Shame.
Uncle Dicky.’ Norfolk folks have no sense of humour.

So sorry about Trump.
For the USA, this is a complete disaster.
Thank you for your commiserations, Richard ❤️
