I have noticed that very few people go to concerts dressed up nowadays. I used to like to look smart when I went out, but I feel out of place sometimes. I used to perform in a DJ, but it‘s hanging in a cupboard now!🥲
37, Another great interesting content dear Julie & Lucy ♥️🌹♥️ Enjoyed watching all those experience & your wonderful discussion, also agree with you on those points ♥️ Thank you for sharing with us. Wishing you have a fabulous week ahead & summer time xx🎉🌞🏖️
Haha! This was so much fun to watch! 💖 As for number 16, I love the fact that in England you can walk to various stores and find what you need, rather than in the US, where you have to drive to the parking lots of each specific store! We buy our toilet paper and kitchen towels from Costco too, but they're definitely smaller than the ones you have! I just checked their website and it's 40 rolls in a pack, but only 240 sheets per roll! Number 22 was just weird! Haha! There are adverts in the UK for intimate shaving products, but they're waaaaay more professional and better executed! 😹
Hi Dani & Chris, thanks for your feedback ❤️ Interesting comparison on the loo rolls and kitchen rolls! Number 22 was beyond weird, wasn't it?!! Hope you're both well and are enjoying the sunny weather ☀️❤️🌻🏖️
I completely understand, Richard. It's difficult and embarrassing to complain and to not leave a tip. Hopefully, you only left a small amount! Many thanks for watching our video. We really do appreciate it ❤️😊

That was awesome ladies...so many things have just got out of hand here...and it's just the past few years that it's just way out of order, such as the tipping....years ago, waiters were paid less then minimum wage so yes, they should have been paid a decent tip because they were only getting a few dollars an hour so the tip was basically their salaries...now they at least get minimum wage, which still isn't a lot but better then before! The drug commercials are totally out of hand, and I still don't understand why they advertise the way they do...for me, I dvr most of what I watch so I click right past them...this was a great subject...great job! Loved it!
Thank you so much, lovely Donna ❤️ I'm glad they are at least paid the minimum wage now. It's so annoying that everyone now expects a tip. We never watch the ads either. We mostly watch Netlix, Prime etc etc. Have a wonderful week. All the best from us both xx
Hi guys, their channel sounds so interesting, love that they moved to Equador for 3 yrs but it seems like so much changed in the shirt time they were away. Haha love that its freezing and windy there with the air conditioning on in your homes and malls, I never thought that would be the case. Alcohol sounds a good price over there and Lucys bottles were bigger than the doggies haha and those toilet and kitchen rolls were massive ! Good if there is another lockdown 😄 The tipping does confuse me that you have to always tip and even tip vending machines ? 😯 We only tip if we are happy with the service. Ooo so fruit and milk there last longer ? But ooo preservatives? Weight gain is happening everywhere and easy to occur with lots of goodies and lack of excercise. I like relaxed ( sloppy ) clothes though I've got to say 🤭 This was very interesting and fun :) Have a great week both ~ Anna ❤❤
Hi Anna, thanks for your fun and interesting feedback! 🤗 Haha, the alcohol was defintely bigger than the poodles! 🤣 It's certainly nice to dress for comfort. We hope your week's off to a great start! Best wishes from us both xx
I live in the American West and the heat is dreadful. Plus the smoke from wildfires! And I just Googled tip jars and there are actually sites to help restaurants "get more" from using tip jars!
Hi Ginny, yes the heat is intense and we've also experienced smoke from the wildfires. Oh my, I'm shocked there are sites specifically helping restaurants get more from tip jars - wow! Many thanks for your interesting comments. We appreciate you watching our video. Have a great week!

I wonder what I would find weird about the UK or London if I lived away for a while! Public transport or lack of, and lack of footways is one thing I've noticed about the US (outside of big cities/towns). In a Vermont town, the only local buses were provided by the Red Cross which was surprising.
Oh, that is strange that the only local buses in Vermont were provided by the Red Cross. I guess they saw it as a necessary public service 🤔 Thanks very much for your interesting comments. Have a great week!
110F it unbelievable to me, I could not cope with heat like that and I know everyone has air con over there but what happens if that breaks down....I hate driving, so many impatient and unforgiving people there on the roads now, if I can avoid driving I will do. Listening that couple makes you wonder why they moved there, especially with the poor quality food but when I go abroad I would expect a culture shock, if it was the same as the UK (sun apart), it would be pointless going, cheers Alan
Hi Alan, thanks for your feedback! When our air con broke down we stayed in a hotel until it was mended! 😂😅 Yes, drivers are so rude and impatient on both sides of the pond. Hope you're enjoying the sunny weather. Take care ~ Julie & Lucy

Lots of valid points. I think it is very interesting that any time I travel abroad I actually lose weight even though I eat a lot on vacation. I have seen a lot of ads for razors and pharmacuticals.
Hi John, thanks for your feedback! Maybe you are not only eating healthier but walking more on vacation? We've seen far too many of those ads too - so much so we try to avoid watching regular TV!

22!! Wow! It’s supposed to be in high 90’s here in Ohio next week. Not good.🥵 Our public transportation is horrible. If Walt Disney had lived longer maybe we would all be riding Monorails.🤔🚝 Alcohol is cheap unless you’re in Walt Disney World.😂 Love Ketel One!! Fruit with no flavor is the worst!! Americans used to dress nice. Not any more.🤣 Loved this video!! Have a wonderful weekend!😄
Haha, there are no words for number 22! 🤣 I won't go to Walt Disney World for a cocktail then, lol! 🍸🤑 Thanks for all your fun comments and kind words. Have a brilliant weekend! ❤️
Oh, I have a lot to say. I hope the world is going to read what I have to say. It will explain how things came to be in the USA. I saw this video and will wait until Lucy and Julie comment on this. I will be polite but will be very direct and accurate. I have been watching these videos and reading articles from travelers and expatriates for the past 30 years.
@@The_Brit_Girls Just to let you know, I know a lot about the USA in terms of basic history, infrastructure, manufacturing, basic laws, climate, consumerism, and cultural do's and don'ts. And traveled do at least 40 states - including Arizona.
Temperatures: Well I have never been able to get into the Hot Christmas Vibe. And in New Zealand Christmas is in the summer. Coming back to the Netherlands I hoped for snow and winter- 3 months each season in the year. It is almost BBQ time in my part of Europe of late. What a disappointment. I love walking into air-conditioned shops and supermarket when it's hot outside. Time to cool the body down. No cardis for me. Just bare arms. Lovely. We don't have airco in our apartment. I do have a upright fan- more than enough fresh air. Medical commercials. Here in NL🇳🇱! "Ladies do you suffer from that irritating ITCH? Then a cartoon like image appears with the female anatomy with a red glowing area quite obvious what it's about!!!! with the solution to use a cream to 'Alleviate' the itch. NOOOOOO! 3. I've driven in most countries I've visited, both left hand and right. There are roadway pirates everywhere. Yes there are differences in manners. Country temperament related I feel. Impatience being a BIG issue. Push show I want to get there first attitude. How to educate on healthy eating- make the food expensive and alcohol cheap. Then throw millions against a re-educate programme to get people off the alcohol. Size MATTERS ladies. We tip when very happy with the service and food. Last night we had dinner out. We tipped minimally by rounding off the amount. Food was "mwa" ok- service "mwa" ok. For 👍food and 👍service we would have tipped more. Fruit plucked too early- stored in cool cells. Gone flavour. I have the notion Americans cook less and eat out or take aways more. Nothing like home cooed meals. Dress code in UK, New Zealand, Australia Netherlands France Germany...people have lost the art of dressing up. Jeans tacky t-shirt, feet in scruffy sandals. I agree. I am generalising- as there are those who still uphold the classy dress style- but generally it's less flash than used to be. I blame cheap production clothing amongst other issues. 22 WHAT.....NOOOOOOO Really??? I hope I never see that on screen. Well, I thought I comment on all items. I don't know about the medical adds in NZ. I can't recall seeing any to be honest and I did watch a wee bit of tv. That's it from me. Have a great week. 😀😱🙋♀🥝
Hi Anita, I really enjoyed reading all your interesting and fun comments ❤️Even though Christmas falls in our AZ winter, It is still very warm - and doesn't feel so much like Christmases spent in the UK. We wish we could brace the aircon like you! Sadly, we really feel the cold - and the draughts. The pressure to tip is intense in the US. Agree, homecooked meals are the best. Yes, people everywhere dress more casually nowadays. Good point about the availability of cheap clothing. Oh my, the "irritating itch" advert!!! Nooooo!!! 😱 Thanks again - and sending you best wishes from us both ❤️🤗☀️🌻
Funnily enough I feel AC can be well overdone. I’ve been to the states a number of times and it’s on constantly. As you say there’s always noise and wind, whereas I just like to open the windows and feel the breeze 👍😁
Certainly lots on your list that sounds very different to the UK. I think I find the tipping so much a strange thing as I think businesses should pay a proper lovable wage and not rely on us as customers to pay. Tipping should be reserved for exceptional service and I find it a shame people have to rely on tipping just to get by. Great video 😊
Hey there gorgeous girls It would be hard to fully comprehend what you’ve never yourself experienced. Aaargh I hate the heat, it gets so hot here. The humidity is the worst. We don’t have aircon. That wind feeling over my head all the time would drive me nuts 😂 We get vitamin adverts but not much more really. I don’t watch tv either, I can’t tolerate the rot.. RUclips is getting as bad! Some people throw them in too frequently. The roads look so confusing! A lot of idiots on the roads here too. lol I’m a disaster too, I have zero sense of direction. I haven’t been on a bus for 30 years 😂 That’s great you are living close to the town. Foods ridiculously expensive here too. Couldn’t really tell you about alcohol. If I drink I make Scott get it. 😂it’s expensive if you go out though. Costco isn’t conveniently close to us.. Let’s go to Lucy’s to party 😅 Wow alcohol is cheap! I like finding places with diversity. I rarely buy anything in malls here as you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all. The big Costco rolls of toilet paper are the best. It’s rare I get there.. but when I do! We don’t really tip here, unless we choose to obviously. Yeah now you order through a blasted app in most restaurants. I don’t like that. Even when donating to charity in the shops, if they won’t accept my change and have a minimum of $20 it will be a one off from me. You can’t give every charity $20 every-time you go to the shops. Fresh produce here lately is hit or miss. Yeah that’s a bit sus! If I’m out I tend to grab food that is convenient. But I rarely eat out or have takeaway. My daughter and I were only commenting the other day how it’s rare to see anyone dress up anymore and when someone does they really pleasantly stand out. I love dressing up if I go out. If I’m just grocery shopping I’m more casual. Lol oh no! Dancing pubes! Can’t say I’ve seen that here! 😂 Loved this video sunshine’s …Very entertaining. You are both amazing. Keep kicking up stardust and have a beautiful safe week.. ❤️💕🌸🧿✨
Hiya gorgeous girl! Thanks a million for all of your fun and thoughtful comments ❤️ I'm surprised you don't have aircon when it must get really hot where you are.We don't really have it much in the UK either. For the few days a year when it is hot and humid it's really hard to cope and get to sleep. We couldn't survive without it in AZ but it is horrible when it's ramped up - like sitting in a wind tunnel. It's soooo excessive. I hate apps in restaurants. They have them here - and still expect a big tip for the "service" 🙄 Have to admit, we do love eating out. Cannot afford to do it all the time though. It's nice to cook, watch Netflix, and chill. We haven't seen the dancing pubes ad ourselves. We try to avoid regular TV as much as possible due to all the annoying ads. Thanks again, lovely. Hope you're having a fabulous week. Take care ❤️☀️🌻🌼💕
Omg - I've literally just one of their videos now. They've recently been in London! Some interesting observations there. I can't believe food is that expensive in the USA. Those two were saying how cheap it was in the U.K., yet half the population are struggling to find money to eat here!! I'm so glad we don't have compulsory tipping here! Number 22 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh my goodness, what a coincidence you've just watched one of their videos! 😲 😂 We'll have to check out their London video. Thanks for watching, take care, and enjoy the sunshine! ☀️❤️
Yes, glad that the loo rolls shortage has been sorted out! 😅 You are right, familiararity can be quite comforting. So sad we lost good old Woollies. Keep cool - thanks for watching!
Hmm…I have a lot to say about this since I did live abroad for one year in Germany. So I do have some understanding in where they are coming from. So let us begin. 1. They are not used to Texas and Kansas being over 100°F (37.8°C). Hmm…well, New York City had had several days in the summer that was at least 100°F every year from 1960 to 2024. I definitely experienced it every year. I experienced 107°F in Arizona, in May 2007. They call it winter. And I experienced below 75°F in Arizona, in December 2003. They call it arctic conditions. Air conditioning? You just need it in the USA, especially when it is hot and humid. 2. Drug advertisement is true and it is very annoying. It may cause death just by watching them. 3. Interstate Highways. They are designed that way for a special reason. Thank the Germans. General Eisenhower in WWII was impressed by the German Autobahn highways. When Eisenhower became president, he initiated the Interstate Highway system to be built. Its main purpose, like the Autobahn, was to transport troops, large military vehicles, and large commercial vehicles (trucks and buses) for interstate commerce. That is why the lanes are wide and overpasses are high. It is needed for military and modern interstate purposes. Also, the Interstate Highway system connects all major cities, all state capitals, and the national capital. All on one roadway system. 4. Expatriates and visitors to the USA do not understand the true layout of the USA. Small towns are spaced apart by many miles (15 plus miles), public transportation within these small towns and between them cannot be economically justified. There is just not enough people traffic to support such a system. Small and large cities with surrounding suburbs can faithfully support public transportation. 5. Food prices are relatively high but it has to also with to do with inflation, distribution costs, etc. So it is true. 6. Homogeneous layout of malls, shopping centers, homes, and office building has a purpose. Yes, it is there for convenience and efficiency but we do want a little diversity. “And each town looks the same to me The movies and the factories” - from the song Homeward Bound 7. Tipping is a problem. It should be relegated to restaurants and other unique services. So I do agree. It is also a culture shock for Americans who never lived abroad. 8. The quality and tastes of produce does vary but we do have very tasty produce on the average. Buying strawberries in December are from Mexico and do not taste sweet but buying strawberries in June are from the Northeast and are very tasty. 9. Overweight is a problem and it is being addressed starting in the school system. We have a long way to go and yes, we need to stop snacking on the chips and crisps. 10. American men dress sloppy! That is VERY TRUE! These men look like zombies coming to work in pyjamas. They should listen to the Brit Girls for fashion advice. 11. I never saw these pubic hair commercials. They must show them in conservative areas like south or out west. My only real experience that I notice in the USA, after living in Germany and coming back, was a lot of Americans were not as worldly as they should be. Even among immigrants, they tend to be very provincial. They seem to not explore the world around them. Not even other parts of the same state or another state. Not even on the internet. Well, that is it for now. If there is anyone who wants to respond to my comments then please do. I am going back to writing my second novel; a realistic romance story of an English nurse and an American pilot.
Hi Perry, thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I love what you say about the drug ads..."It may cause death just by watching them." 😂 Thanks for explaining why Interstate Highways are designed the way they are. Those lyrics from the song Homeward Bound were very apt at describing why each town can look the same. Tipping is a pain in America! It was interesting that you noticed that after living in Germany for a year Americans sometimes tended to be more provincial and unaware of the World around them. Thanks again for all of the points you made. Very insightful and fascinating to read ❤️😊
@@The_Brit_Girls Wow, it was 6:46 AM EST when I viewed your comments. Either your comments were delayed by many hours, or you got up very early to respond. It is 4:46 AM MST where you live right now. Yes, a lot of Americans are very provincial. They really embarrass my country. And a lot of them are young college students.
Tipping culture bugs the life out of me especially as everything is so bloody expensive as it is 😅 totally agree on the buses/public transport/crazy amount of roads. OMG yes the fruit and veg, I noticed as soon as I came over the border how much fresher and healthier it all is! I'm surprised Ecuadorians dress better than the Americans! I'll be in Ecuador next year and I'm literally sat here in a t-shirt and baseball cap 😬 wow, I'm not sure what's worse, advertising 'drugs' (meds) or pubes on your telly 😂
Hi Matt, thanks for your feedback! ❤️ The ads are so bad on regular TV that we rarely watch it anymore. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on Ecuador. Haha, better update your wardrobe! 😅

Loved this video!!

Ooh, can't wait to hear what you have to say, Perry! This will be very interesting to say the least! 👍😀

Just to let you know, I know a lot about the USA in terms of basic history, infrastructure, manufacturing, basic laws, climate, consumerism, and cultural do's and don'ts.
We totally agree! Many thanks for backing us up on that! 😅👍
Well said, Yasmin. Thanks for coming along to our premiere. Hope your week is off to a great start! 😊
Hey there gorgeous girls
It would be hard to fully comprehend what you’ve never yourself experienced.
Aaargh I hate the heat, it gets so hot here.
The humidity is the worst.
We don’t have aircon.
That wind feeling over my head all the time would drive me nuts 😂
We get vitamin adverts but not much more really.
I don’t watch tv either, I can’t tolerate the rot..
RUclips is getting as bad!
Some people throw them in too frequently.
The roads look so confusing! A lot of idiots on the roads here too.
lol I’m a disaster too, I have zero sense of direction.
I haven’t been on a bus for 30 years 😂
That’s great you are living close to the town.
Foods ridiculously expensive here too. Couldn’t really tell you about alcohol. If I drink I make Scott get it. 😂it’s expensive if you go out though.
Costco isn’t conveniently close to us..
Let’s go to Lucy’s to party 😅
Wow alcohol is cheap!
Loved this video sunshine’s …Very entertaining.
Very interesting. Familiarity can be quite comforting. I miss Woolworths! Glad there's no longer a shortage of loo rolls.
Yes, glad that the loo rolls shortage has been sorted out! 😅 You are right, familiararity can be quite comforting. So sad we lost good old Woollies. Keep cool - thanks for watching!
Julie we talk about over air conditioning all the time! It's TERRIBLE in Texas just like Arizona.
I'm glad it's not just we Brits who complain about the excessive air con. Interesting that you find the same problem in Texas.
Oh that was so interesting. Not something I had experienced myself. 👍🏻
Thanks very much, Cara. Kind of you to say. Have a great week - enjoy all the sunshine! 😊☀️
“And each town looks the same to me
The movies and the factories” - from the song Homeward Bound

Wow, it was 6:46 AM EST when I viewed your comments. Either your comments were delayed by many hours, or you got up very early to respond. It is 4:46 AM MST where you live right now.
Yes, a lot of Americans are very provincial. They really embarrass my country. And a lot of them are young college students.
Lol, fun video guys interesting as well. Great to be able to learn facts and enjoy at the same time
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much!
Ooh culture shock what an interesting topic! 🥸🙂
Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! 😊
I gave you ladies a thumbs up for today i already hit like and subscribe already.

Heat. What do you expect when a US city, is a massive concrete slab plonked down in the middle of a desert.
Yes, very true! Thanks for watching. Have a great week 😊
Good video 👍
Thanks very much. Have a great week, Adzey! ❤️😊

Thanks for watching! 😊❤️
American carrots and strawberries are so disappointing.
Yes, they are, sadly.
I'm a very sloppy dresser! haha
You have the RIGHT to Dress sloppy.
I don't think so, Dara. You always look lovely in your magenta-colored outfits 🩷
@@The_Brit_Girls you should see how I go to the grocery store when I'm in Texas! It's bad!
Do you findigstes fruit andrehen. had hardly any flavour at the moment.
In particular, the bananas are as green as grass when you buy them!
Yes, for sure!
