We have to stop the pawn on h2 from promoting first! But even if we manage that it's still not so easy to win.

Systematic manoeuvre! Korolkov was so great. The idea certainly was known by Aloy Wotawa. But this systematic manoeuvre is much better. I´ve also made a study with this idea with Mario García which won 2nd prize in tournament. But I like this study by Korolkov more.

2:40 Why couldn't white go B-F3, followed by B-G4 so the pawn and bishop protect each other. Then white can take his time moving his king to escort the pawn down to H8.

But when the black king reaches h8 there will be no way to force him out.

Once the black king gets to H8, he just moves back and forth. If you don't let him out of H8, it's a stalemate. If you let him out of H8, then he just moves back in on the next move. You can never apply check to the king while he's in H8 and that's why it's a draw -- either by repetition/insufficient material or by stalemate.

After 2. Ka2, black will simply play 2 ..Kg3 3, Bc2-e4, Black's king will take the white pawn on h3. Is this still to win for white?

That unleashes the rook: first, white bishop goes to h1, then wherever the black bishop or king goes, the rook can move to another rank and then to the 1st file, if neccessary. The white king can come closer and help to mate with the rook on the h rank.
