- Quick tutorial on how to get the door panel off of the 1990-1993 Honda Accord.
Uploaded from my phone straight to youtube so there was no editing done to the video. Хобби
For anyone not paying close attention, after you remove the screw from the door handle, it slides toward the engine before it pulls straight out.
You may not need to slide it, if previous owners just yanked it straight out.
If you look at the back of the door handle, that what those plastic hooks are about.
Also, there is a plastic membrane that follows the contour of the glue line you can see in his video.
It is supposed to protect the interior of the door and the parts in it from moisture.
If you're watching door panel removal videos for a car this old, odds are someone else has already removed it.
If not, you can either cut it to get access and tale the slit with a good tape like packing tape, or just replace it.
Cheap drop cloth or clear shower curtain liner works great - I prefer the latter as it's more wear friendly and stretchy.
Thanks so much, Dao. I've been putting off replacing my power window/door lock switch and replacing my door latch because I wasn't sure what to expect. This was exactly what I needed to see.
Thanks for the tutorial. I removed my passenger side door panel today, and I think it was the first time its ever been removed. As soon as I pulled it off another one of those little clips that attaches to the door handle rod fell out. It's like Honda put an extra one in the door panel for you cause they knew you were going to break it the first time you tried taking it off haha.
Thanks for the Video dude I was having trouble with the door handle you did great with one hand.
One hand was very hard to do. Glad I didn't break the handle or clip in the process, haha.
your daughter is calling you
It was difficult to film and work on the panel with 1 hand, with my kids in the backseat bored out of their mind haha
shot bro, needed new locks and needed front door one out, big help
Nice video! I definitely needed to know how to do all of this to install some new speakers! I was hoping you would mention that and you did! So thank you and your video was a huge help!
You're welcome. Glad the video helped
Dao Vang Hello man! Do you know if there is illumination on the panel for power windows/mirrors on Honda Accord CB7 1990? Or if such can be installed? Thank you!
This is the video I was searching for to access the door switch mechanism. My 1992 Accord's two rear door switch doesn't lock and unlock completely. I'm guessing it needs some sort of grease lubricant? I noticed it only has that problem when the weather is cold.
Thank you for this vid, very helpful!
Thank you man
Reach Gamer you’re welcome
Video really helped me, thanks man.
BlackOpSource you're welcome
Good info here - one thing that I would like to add involving the door handle removal though. Yours pulled straight out, but most of the time it will be necessary to slide the handle housing towards the front so the tabs slide out of the door frame. Otherwise it will not pull straight out. Think the tabs were slightly damaged on the handle in this video so it came straight out.
Yes, my tabs were already worn out in this video so they did pull straight out. Original, fully functional and working handles do push towards front of vehicle before they come out.
Thank you for pointing that out
@@DaoVangCB7 You're welcome! Thanks for posting video, was very helpful!!
thanks for the amazing tutorial! could you please make a video on how you installed the window mirror folding module.
really helpful video! ! thank you!
I was wondering where had you goten the power miror folding module from? tell me how you set it up at more.
This is a long shot because you made this so long ago; but my door won’t open from the outside on the drivers side. It works fine on the inside though. It’s a Honda 93. Looks almost exactly like this car here, hopefully you have some insight!
Linda Cendejas-Parker hello Linda. I still have my Accord. If your door is not opening from the outside, there’s a high possibility the mechanism is not attached from the handle to the lock anymore. Or it could be the plastic tab may have broken off in which the rods to connect from handle to mechanism. Only way to really know is to take off door panel, remove the plastic moisture cover and inspect. I’d do a video, but my handles have been modified. I no longer have keyholes for the front handles and they will look different from yours
I'm looking into troubleshooting my automatic window, which is stuck in the down position on the front driver's side, and I'm kind of nervous to do this myself! This looks helpful, though... I think the window motor is still working, because the window would roll down, but not up! Not sure if I should try with my boyfriend's help, or just take it into a shop. Cheapest starting quote I've gotten so far is $55 just for the mechanic to take the door panel off and take a look, and from I've seen, that's more expensive than a new motor! Sigh....
Good video, I would like to know where to find those electric folding mirrors
thanks for the azaming tutorial! could you please make a video of how you Installed the folding mirror module.
very helpful video!! thank you!! could you please make a video of how you set up the automatic mirror folding module. and talk about some other important factors.
I purchased the Japan market folding mirrors from someone else. They had already worked up the wiring so it was practically plug and play. Sorry I cannot help you.
So my driver side door speaker is missing the harness. Just gone and I can't find a replacement anywhere. What do I do? I bought some but they didn't fit even though it said specifically for 89-98 Honda's.
When that video coming for the wiring on the flooding mirrors? I have all the pieces just need the know how.
My door wont open at all. Its stuck shut. Any idea how to romove door panel.
Cool thanks bud !
Glad I can be of help
I feel so bad for that little kid calling for daddy.
casesusa that’s my fault for not keeping her entertained lol
Im curious if you are able to fit a 6.5 speaker on that door idk if you have upgraded or not because I've read threads that say you can if you remove that plastic piece at covers that stock speaker but I'm not sure a video would help
@joe I removed the whole speaker and the huge plastic that it came with. I had went to the junkyard and pulled the 6.5" holders from the LX Accord and used it in mines
Thank you Dude real talk #H-TownTx
Clayton Harrison glad my video helped
Dao,
Can you tell me where I can buy the "clips"? I several missing as I purchased my honda used and I noticed that there were several clips around the passenger door missing. I have to replace the driver-side door handle and I want reserves on hand in case I break them.
try looking on here:

+Dao Vang Thank you...
Dude, how do you get the door handle frame off? Mine won't come off like that and it makes a sound like its going to break when I try.
Slide it forward.
Nice video, thanks! I've been wanting to do this for a while as my speakers are shot, but I've been worried about messing up the plastic clips that hold the panel on. You made it look as if that's not a problem, so is it something I don't have to worry about. Would you happen to know how deep of a 4" speaker could be installed without hitting the window?
Also, I noticed that you have a stock Honda CD player. I have a radio from a 97 Accord, and I was wondering what brackets you need to mount the Honda CD player. I've been struggling to find that out.
Nice mirrors! I might consider them if I found them in white. Do they still break away when they get bumped, or do they get damaged?
sorry for the late reply. Google didn't allow me to reply to older versions of RUclips that made comments here / didn't fully activate my account.
The stereo is installed using factory brackets (my radio had a business card bucket underneath that attached to the stereo so it was just a blank single din)
The mirrors also do break away when bumped.
If you do ever want a set, search up JDM power fold mirrors, followed by your vehicle year, make and model.
Try to buy one that is complete to plug and play. less headache of trying to figure out the wiring.
+Dao Vang Hey, thanks for the reply! Mine has that business card holder as well. I can find brackets to attach the CD player to the radio. I'm confused about how you would attach this to the car though. I didn't use the 1997 radio bracket, I used the one that came with my car (though I had to drill some extra holes in it), but this mounts the radio to the upper position. Would it be possible to get part numbers or pictures of the brackets you used?
+Eric Giese did you try flipping the brackets either up and down or left to right?
+Dao Vang Which brackets? I haven't actually tried anything yet. I've just been looking into adding a CD player if I can figure out how to do it.
I have bracket #17 here (part number 39111-SM4-010): images.cmsnl.com/img/partslists/radio_big00027157B__1601_b73a.gif
Do I need number 16, or is there some way to use the one that I have?
Sorry i cannot confirm the part number.
I am not using that bracket, but just some side ones that holds the player to the pocket
do you know the exact speaker size in the front
5.25" for EX/SE
6.5" for LX/DX
Nice tutorial man. Question, I'm in the situation where the driver door won't open even when its unlocked. Will I still be able to get the panel off even when the door is still closed?
Frank Johnson yes you can:

How did you do the Power Window Mod??? I just got a 90 accord 5spd
GETNYCEAUTO the power folding mirror are imported
They are Japan spec mirrors for the sedan
You’d need the relay and cross reference the wiring to make them work
Sadly, I doubt there is a diagram online of how to wire it up
@@DaoVangCB7 Damn of course...thanx tho 💪🏾
Do you have a tutorial on the power folding mirrors
I’m sorry, I do not have the info for that. I purchased mines, already painted to my car color and already prewired
@@DaoVangCB7 ok thanks
Bro what stock speaker size was it in your Honda
6x9 rear and I think 5" front
thanks
You're welcome!
Thanks so much! Who said a girl can't work on her car?
Why is it so difficult to find one of those door handles in dark brown for the coup,I've tried eBay ,amazon, junkyards(many of them) all I ever come across is all the other colors but never dark brown are they that rare?
Spade Spade
I got you:
72125-SM2-013ZC
72165-SM2-013ZC
one is driver and other is passenger
Dao Vang...SWEEEET that's awesome thanks bro.👌😎
I can't even get the handle out
push the handle inward a bit and forward towards the front of car at the same time
Gives me anxiety watching him pry though plastic clips off not using the pre cut slit
The clip rotates clockwise off of the rod. Then the rod can be lifted. That prying motion, with the rod still snugly in the clip, nearly broke the clip. This video was poorly done.
You should have practiced it first
really helpful video! ! thank you!
