That isn't exactly true that it was the meats they had acess too. They also had access to alot of sugar from the new world, or in fruits since they had access to those and poor ppl didn't, and the amount of food they could eat was unending. We've all seen those banquets they'd serve regularly. Any food in huge quantities is going to cause weight gain even if it's good for you. Plus, the cancer studies could have had to do with using pesticides or more access to cigarettes and so on. Not necessarily strictly food based. And poorer ppl have not always eaten better through history. They were often malnourished and sick. Even if the sickness wasn't cancer and btw could more cancer also just be that they were diagnosing it better as well.
Yes! I only eat meat 5 days a week and it's only 1 meal and small portions. For dairy, I always aim for organic. No beef, veal, etc. Just chicken and fish.
