Quick glance at a huge mining operation here in Silver City New Mexico the Santa Rita copper mine.

Holy moly this operation is huge. Doing some research I guess they’ve been pulling copper out of this king since around 880 ad. The natives gathered copper and then the Spaniards and then to what it’s known as today. Pretty amazing
