consultancy = open access to all designs. wake up India.
It does not. Consultancy can mean whatever the parties involved want it to mean, provided you pay.
Private sector companies will not get involved in defence peojects.
After they invest their funds, complete R&D and produce their equipment to specifications, they get no orders from the military.
They are made to wait, asked to perform many modifications and in the end, the military purchases the equipment from overseas or they only get a small amount of orders.
This does not even cover their development expenses, let alone turn them a profit.
That's uninformed. Godrej Aerospace is heavily involved in the Kaveri project, L&T is involved in K9 Vajra manufacture, Bharat Forge has developed its 155 mm gun that competes with ATAGS and so on. Hundreds of smaller companies supply components to HAL, DRDO, ISRO and so on. Now the nature of defence acquisitions is such it requires risk on the part of private firms. For F-35 both Boeing and Lockheed put in vast resources. Ultimately only one of them won the tender. That is the nature of competitive bidding.

Take the help and use it across the board for all drones rather than being suspicious or everything. Every country needs to have its own plan B,C,D etc. No point in just being emotional and being risk averse.
@@nrprabhu555 Quite true. One cannot be perenially suspicious in the old socialist mindset. This is a contractual matter. For those who don't know, India has a long history of acquiring materiel from the US. In recent memory it is the M777, Apache, Chinook, C-130, and MQ9s, but historically too there were Sherman tanks, Lockheed (constellations if memory serves), and so on. The schism between the US and India started in the late 50s and 60s as Pakistan allied itself to the US via CENTO, and later when the US drew closer to China in the latter's wake of schism from the USSR, in response to which India had to draw closer to, and ultimately sign a defence pact with the USSR. Those days are long gone. India's path of independent diplomacy is a tough, tricky one, but it has to be confident about its deals. The GE-404, for example, was chosen after the same concerns. Current issues notwithstanding (and I'm pretty sure it really is mostly supply chain issues rather than US government trickery- recently one report specified it was the shortage of Titanium and Nickel alloy components due to embargos on Russia, which is the dominant supplier of Titanium that was the sticking point), the GE-404 was delivered on time and has performed remarkably well on the Tejas Mk1, of which 43 are in service in two squadrons.

understand US's game. they always pitch such joint programmes when they see domestic programmes are on the verge of success.
when our BMD research started to look promising, US started pitching THAAD to the UPA govt, which gladly put BMD on back burner.
when whap & kestrel looked promising, chandigarh lobby immediately started process for trials for stryker and also talk of joint production came up.
now, when DRDO's drone programme is on verge of breakout success, US comes again with joint project plans
India is committing mistake trusting America for help in defence sector.They will leave u halfway, after commitments, like what they did for f-414 engine.
India should not proceed with MQ9 deal. USA is not a reliable partner. F404 engine is the example.

We Indians learn the hard way, with late orders, overpriced, low no.of orders, and high maintenance mix match chaos then after 2 decades we wake up and find we have a Jet engine, tank engine, drone, AIP, every program it's just we don't want to fund and procure indigenous product, why? Now, Kaveri, Tapas is getting the spotlight soon new engine and drone deal that will side-line our project for a decade, we will wake again during SWIFT DRONE, and TEDBF and will side-line Kaveri again, same with tanks, submarines, ships engines.

Govt must fund more on education rather than on free homes and free ration then automatically it will increase r&d in the country

This seems to be another way to delay or scrap the progress made by DRDO and HAL on male drones just like they did for Tejas and AMCA
Hello sir, I am a regular viewer of your channel and a diffence lover too. The way you simply diffence that is really nice.
I think indian diffence industry, MOD and Armed forces need a coordinated approach to look forward. Everytime Diffence forces needs some equipment they release a Request for proposals most of the time unrealistic in the current context after that DRDO invest it's time and effort to achieve it but if there is even 10% less forces don't like it and place an order prom foreign. In the meantime DRDO lost it's precious time and effort. In another scenario MOD release fund for a project but after some time some foreign country come with an attractive offer , forces got attracted and the fund to DRDO is stopped again the time and effort is lost.
I am not saying that all the projects are similar but most of the cases these type of problems occur and finally we got no indigenous achivement or remarkable progress. And for that many simultaneous projects are being carried by DRDO and other difference industries.
And you mark my word after a certain time most of the projects, efforts and funds will be lost.
Like Kavery, like Tapas etc.
I mean yes we have to accept that we have a limited knowledge and resources as well so that we have to concentrate our resources to achieve something big.
For an example we need different categories of UAVs right now, and DRDO is working on all of it but in this way there efforts and funds getting diluted and so that the success % is less.
I think we should definitely think about it on a serious note.

I don't think India should involve with the USA in any defence projects they have been sabotaging our Tejas program already. We will see more such sabotage from them in future. It is best to provide designing of male drone to ADA and the engine can be developed jointly by DRDO and HAL.
Companies like tata , mahindra , l and t , adani , new space research, zen tech have great potential if given opportunity

But the difficulty is that the Indian administration's attitude; if they want drones with predator class performance but do not want to pay money, they will get the same outcomes as taps BH 201 droes .

India can receive technology transfer and help from the USA for Predator class drones, much as we get for F414 class engines.
Turkey and South Korea have also taken technical assistance for F35 from Britain and USA. If we too get such help for Predator class drones, it will be a positive thing for us . We should look for more such opportunities .

We can take their consultancy in designing our own indigenious drone,UAV.
we have right what to take what not to take, what information to give what not to share.
So we don't want to develop Turboprop and Jet Powered Drones just to save cost. If this is the case then we should also stop developing Nuclear Submarines as it cost more than Diesel Electric Submarines.

Will it be good if DRDO adds another piston engine on TAPAS in push configuration? 🤔 The weight will surely be increased a little bit but the weight to thrust ratio will increase and make it a little bit bigger for more fuel capacity will surely increase its range and endurance.🤠 Not suggesting anything but just personal silly thought!😅

Tata has never been great with R&D. They have not even been able to make a good car engine. M&M will be a better choice if they venture into such programs

Pvt companies should involve in making upgrading, govt companies cannot deliver top class tech, in short time. Govt companies have many issues, egos, mindset’s, target, intelligent brains many more factors which may result in the risk mean no results. Govt roles should be restricted to supervise , checking and balances.❤️🙏🏻🕉️

Why we trust this drone..? We want more drone from our own companies 🙌🏼
Because it is the best in its class with 20 years proven performance in Afghanistan, and because the need is now, rather than down the road. Of course Indian firms should keep working on indigenous designs, but let's not kid ourselves that we'll have an operational drone ready for use in a year, or two, or even five that matches the Reaper's performance, especially its sensor and comm. package, not to mention the engine reliability and aerodynamic performance with long term endurance.
