    I'm so excited for my future dragon/unicorn army. Muwahaha! For the box after this one, my vote is a cat/dog mold. I know at first it sounds basic but so many pokemon-like creatures could be possible! Also, it would be cool to make figures that look like my current furry family members or even my past pets.

    You are 100% correct in that there are not really any 3D equine-style type molds out there! Most who sculpt horses will do their own molds and not sell them, so one is extra special! Most cast their ponies in resin, so to have this able to cast this in plaster like this is a FEAT. You are amazing, Jackie. I am stoked!

    Well done! I am so proud of you. I am signed up and we are going to try to afford it. As a child we did such crafts, and I remember they came out much better in the summer in Maine, USA. We always did them on Friday craft day, and could not even look at them, let alone touch them until Monday. In poor weather my older cousin sat a small dehumidifier in the room, such as musicians used to use to keep dampness away from stored equipment. Monday morning the older kids unmolded for us littles and the old grandpa shirts came out and the painting began! My mother and her two best friends worked hard to get grants for things like this, and I was very proud of her. Thank you for providing such wonderful kits and inspiration to one and all. I am so very, very proud of you too.

    The design of this mold is genius, with the way the bottom supports the legs while they dry 😁I noticed with the first kit, after unmolding the character, it still felt cold and damp for some time after, so it makes sense that this one needs more time to dry until it can be worked on.
    Looking forward to this kit! 🥰

    Hi Jackie! I love these kits. You are doing an excellent job and I am so proud of the progress you've made from deco phone cases, and small unsure resin creations, and sculpting. It's been a joy to watch you grow over the years, and as a fellow spoonie, you are an inspiration.
    I'd really like it if you could make a kit with smaller moulds. I love anything miniature, but also, with 3 small kids these larger mould take too much time to put together and decorate. At least for me right now lol. Drying time isn't so much the issue as the crafting time that starts once you de-mould the figure. I don't even know if it's possible to make your current moulds smaller, they might need to be larger to avoid breakage.
    Also. Is there any way you could do a mini box or sample type box to make it more affordable for those of us on tight budgets? Like maybe just the mould and some paints in a smaller scale/amount? Or a "expansion " version that doesn't repeat any of the items from the first kit might help price wise? I know some of these things might cost more in production than it's worth doing, like smaller versions of the paint. It's probably easier and more cost effective on your end to include the standard size bottles of paint because the paint company wouldn't charge a premium to make special smaller bottles just for this kit.
    I don't know, just some ideas I had.

    • @NerdEJackieVlogs
      @NerdEJackieVlogs  2 года назад +6

      Those are great ideas! And I’m definitely testing mini molds actually! But they are challenging without sacrificing the actual shapes

    • @craftydemon529

      @@NerdEJackieVlogs oh, I wonder if you could do like some scaled figure molds? That way people can make their own toy photography props (I know S&T already has some along with other shops my maybe some nerdy or rement-esk ones?)

    • @anni321
      @anni321 2 года назад +4

      I was thinking in the diretion of the "expansion", to avoid doubles like funnel and mixing bowl. Not (only) out of money reasons but because of sustinability (less production = less emissions) and also clutter-in-my-apartment reasons.

    Clearly you're more experienced in this with all the research you've done, but I'm wondering if it would have been viable to make a body mold and then have separate molds for legs in maybe 2 styles? Then you could cast the body and leg separately and then bond them together after they cured? I mean, I trust your decisions because this is your job, but I was just curious, since things have a tendency to break off. I look forward to the launch!

    • @Nirrrina

      @lokicooper4690 2 года назад +2

      I would like this too. I am stoked to have a full figure, but if I want the legs to go in different directions, having them separate would be ideal. Still, this is such an ambitious mould, I'm loving it!

    • @GlutzahnLP
      @GlutzahnLP 2 года назад +3

      Im no expert but I think its for stability, the limbs are the parts to make the figure stand, so they carry all the weight and to support things like big wings and horns and all the other fun stuff (which can get really heavy). So if they where attached later they would be even more fragile. Also my second theory is, its to be more beginner friendly. The legs are not to hard to shape so you could also experiment around with breaking of limbs and forming your own out of other materials ones you get more experienced :)

    Having dabbled with pewter-tin casting of gaming miniatures in rubber molds, I wondered how you were going to pull this off. Horses, centaurs, dragons and the like are crazy difficult to mold/pour/release. In my case I was working with metal so I had it a little easier and still never really pulled it off to this degree. Well done, Jackie!!

    Heya Jackie... We watched your video on figure pouring and mold separation.. Then I fell asleep afterwards. I have a suggestion on getting the air bubbles out, in concrete work (cement) they use a large vibrator to coax the air bubbles out of the concrete. Maybe using a "smaller" version of the same device can do the same thing soo theres less "butt bubbles"... yes I know its usually used for other personal enjoyments, but has the same effects as its bigger cousin.. We love all that you have done :o) oh also.. she loves her room / house at 20c year round.. right now its 32.2c outside

    Jackie, you can put armature wire in the legs before pouring the plaster. I made a mould of a sculpture of my hand and when I casted it i just put pieces of wire in each finger before pouring. This makes the casted thing SO much more sturdy. But this also has it's cons, like the wire might peek through if you put it in the wrong way (too close to the mold), or depending on which type of metal the wire is made from it might get rusty and color parts of the plaster. But I think it's worth it, it makes the sculpture so much more durable and you don't have to be constantly afraid the legs will snap. You should consider at least trying to cast with the wire, see how you like it.

    I'm looking forward to getting this kit for the mold.
    I wonder how much of the curing is related to the humidity more than the temperature? If it's humid it'll take longer to dry/cure. I live in a dry area of the US. It gets cold but the humidity tends to be low most of the time.
    I do have one ask/suggestion: can you sell only the molds for people who already have one of the kits? That way there are fewer duplicated items to keep/store.....

    Well i ordered and paid for it, I keep telling myself it's my birthday and Christmas present as this month has been expensive as a brought a few actions figures off ebay (Jackie knows life needs a few action figures in it) I will tell myself with this craft kit I can make creatures to go along with figures.❤😺

      I once saw an older woman with long strings dangling behind her ears. I thought they were impressively large earrings until i realized they were a glasses holder.

    I would love to get the Snack kit, but as a poor student (finishing up my masters degree in special education 😃), I’ll just enjoy it via RUclips. Lol It looks like so much fun!

    Jackie what i used to release the mold in the previous kit i used mold release and it worked perfectly for the kit. So please consider putting mold release in your kits. Also I would love to test a future kit and give you feedback. Your loyal grain Klair Baranek.
