I would like to say at this point that Mr Spacey's love for Bobby Darin's music is well illustrated by the fact that he, wrote, directed, part financed, produced, starred in, danced in, sang in 'Beyond the Sea' which was a quite brilliant piece of cinematic work. The fact that Spacey's film gave a half true half fantasy look at Darin's life reflected the artistic genius of Darin himself. As a film it is one of my favourites and I would like to thank space comics for uploading it. :-)
Woah, easy there haters! Kevin Spacey co-wrote this film, directed it, AND produced it. I know you love Bobby and all but if you just take Spacey simply as another big fan of Bobby, that'd be enough to make him a tad loads more wonderful fan than us all! And honestly his voice may not beat Bobby but how could you say he can't sing? He's amazing! And finally, I hope I'm not the only one who's thrilled by the young and fantastically talented William Ullrich here. The boy deserves great credits!
Bobby Darin is an incredibly underrated singer and entertainer, You know billboard labeled his "Mack the Knife" as number 3 in Billboards Hot 100 all time top songs. Simon Cowell even mentioned in 2006 that Mack the Knife was "the best song ever made, ever produced, ever sung." If only there was a way for people to really look at his music, they know Franky but no one knows Bobby.
Oh, Simon Cowell doesn't know about Sinatra or he wouldn't have called him "Frankie" -- that was his son. NO one who knew Frank EVER called him "Frankie!" Not to his face anyway.
I love this! The boy and Kevin Spacey singing together are great! I actually like Kevin Spacey better in this than Bobby Darin himself. Looking up the song on the web, I see that the song was written by Bobby Darin! It's a wonderful song!--He was truly a talented musician! And Kevin Spacey's cinematic tribute to Bobby Daren "Beyond the Sea" is a treat to see and savor time and again. Kevin Spacey--a man of so many talents--actor, impressionist, singer, director! He's quite a guy!

"Beyond The Sea" It's too bad they didn't title it (or at least sub-title) "The Bobby Darin Story". A lot of people don't associate the song with B.D. My wife and I saw it in the theatre and there was only two other people there (and THEY had no idea it was about Bobby before the show started)!!! Great Movie and K.S. gets kudos for persevering and getting this movie made.
Truthfully, Spacey’s version is a WHOLE lot more interesting then Darin's. Darin sings so fast, it’s hard to enjoy the song. His version isn't even a min and a half long. At least with Spacey there is time to really appreciate the song. When I was reading the comments the first time, I had never seen the movie nor did i know what Darin or Spacey looked like, and with you all saying how bad Spacey was I thought he was the singer in the second part.
