I had to go through a 3 part audition process. 1st was a dance audition, 2nd a cold reading, and the 3rd was with the director to make sure I was the one they wanted. It was the beginning of my career. I had a great experience, it was an amazing job to have for a 10 year old. I began dancing at 2 1/2 and started to audition for various commercials and shows by the age 8. As soon as I booked this job many more kept rolling in. I really enjoy being on camera and doing what I love.
Really interesting thanks for sharing! I have a question. Did this girl in the ad voice Jill? It's the one who speaks straight away in this version of it ruclips.net/video/2LcVVoo-0ZY/видео.html Her voice is so similar, just wondering if you would know that. Thanks
Its Not A Nature Color To Be Black N White Its A Camera Evolution I Can't Believe They Bully Me Insult Me But They Don't Even Know How Cameras Work And Thought That Their Grandma Was Born In Real Black N White😂😂😂
I had one of these. She seemed to start smarting off and freaked me out. Once her arm fell off I threw her in the attic and when we moved we threw her away
I filmed this commercial when I was 10, I am now 35. The one in the commercial was not a prototype. And only her head and arms moved. Its funny all the misinformed people posting on here.
Did the doll in the commercial experience all the same problems as the dolls available to the mass market, or did they at least have some sort of protections on her from “Jill syndrome”?
The doll worked well during the filming from I can remember. The doll I owned (which was one that was sold in stores) worked well too, but it was always just a little creepy.
This is very very rare doll - i have seen the robot ones of her and i have seen people have a stuffed view of her - But to me i like the robot one of her better - Ever tho i have seen and herd she take's alot of belts to move and play she is still a pretty cool doll.
@fan hawk, the whole body does not move. Only the arms and head do. I am not sure where you see the whole body move because it does not. If you can't accept that answer well then to each their own. I did own one in about 1988 and she broke a few months after getting her. It was not a good product. But as a performer in the commercial the whole experience was unforgettable! There are a few more recordings of it on youtube if you search for it :)
Wow, you were one of the girls in this? How did you get picked for it? What was your experience like? What was it like on the set? Did you have a Jill doll? Please respond!
I know only her head and arms move. It's from 0:25 to the very end where the whole body moves. I never understood why they did that at the very end when it's only her head and arms of the doll that is animated. I loved the commercials and wanted a Jill doll so bad when I was growing up but my parents just couldn't afford one. So which girl were you in the commercial?
$35? No way! She was about $200 when she was new in 1987. If that's what you wanted to know. She was a pretty complex and expensive doll for that time.
Starsurfer1988 Not really in 1987 these thtypes of dolls where pretty common and money use to go a lot further however if an improved version of these suckers where on market it would be about $200. And because of nostalgic value and ffact these creepy talking dolls had best stuff if their time not a days.ot probably sells on maxon for on eBay for at least $1000.
Is it me or does the face and animatronics look suspiciously like a pre chucky good guy doll? If you cut the hair and change the outfit and gender, you could have your own custom chucky doll that animates lol.
My sister had one that did the same shit. I threw that stupid doll in the Trash . I’m terrified of dolls anyway. And having That stupid dog sitting in the front room every time I got Up And seen it moving Was like nightmare fuel. I got it threw in the trash and told her somebody Stole it

@@TheCrissyV and who has the prototype now?
Jill did not look like that or move that quickly and her whole body didn't move this clearly is a prototype
I don't think her whole body moved. I think she was sitting on a rotary table or something :) That's why it seemed that her whole body moved.
Jill is a lot of me!!!!❤❤❤❤

Jeana Dylan i get my jill tomorrow.complete with tape, box, original clothing and hair bow. Exciteddd
Must have been a prototype. The real Jill never moved arms and head that quickly.
Right
The final product didn't dance as well like what we see in the end of the commercial
Jill, you are NOT like me. You are nothing like me!
If Jill was still going on of today…it’s will have an AI and walking and talking instead of the program dialogue beta program….still creepy AF
she is pretty rare because I'm trying to find her on eBay rite now

That was nice.
I remember this commercial. I found her to be kind of creepy.

10 years ago, still no reply.
LOLZ at the very end. Her upper torso didn't move, only her arms and head. How'd they do that?
Oh crap. It's gonna murder me in my sleep, ain't it?
I noticed in both Jill commercials her whole body moves at the end. Why is she moving like that at the end when only her head and arms move???
Jenny Lewis must’ve been one of the girls in this commercial!

Lynne Aneweer it was somebody moving the dolls body probably

How much money was Jill?
I think $35 and some change which is like $75 in today's momey minimum
That's cool. :)

Philip Defibaugh Naw, they made a full range motion animatronic for Chucky. Lol would've been kind of cool, though.
Wait a minute. Batteries not included? Than how is this thing moving? That means....
I had one back then and she was fun until she pulled a chunky on me talking without the batteries in her that one time and she got gone after that😊
