Every time we see Mrs flood she is wearing clothes that the doctors companions have worn, this episode she is wearing Clara's clothes and even says clever boy. The outfit at the end is from a classic companion but not sure who.
I suspect some people who are dying later are either on planets that the Doctor HADN'T visited (yet) or had been travelling in space aboard a space ship, thus they are dying from the "Gift of Death" spreading forwards or backwards along their family timeline rather then an Avatar's Storm of Death.
I liked this much more on a second viewing. Kind of ruined the first one hoping constsntly for Susan and Mrs Flood reveals as opposed to what was actually happening on screen. My fave Mel appearence by far. Loved them beating a god with a whistle and a bungee rope. So brilliantly Dr Who in its silliness. And the reunion was so raw and Mrs Flood ending it like that...nice.
I still think that scene where Mrs. Flood seemed to not recognize the TARDIS was a misdirect, kind of showing her cheeky side wherein, instead of focusing on the Tardis she's just messing with the neighbor. Because, the Mrs. Flood that we saw in the Church on Ruby Road seemed much different that this Flood, instead of ominous she was just kinda cheeky, kinda silly. Plus there is that line of "I haven't seen one in 60 years and I don't want to see one now!" seemed really odd for her to get up in arms about that she precieved to be a normal police box.
Was this Dr. Who or Days of our Lives I was watching tonight what the hell was that ending? This is typical RTD I'm getting so fed of kitchen sink dramas I want science fiction and monsters.

I reckon that Mrs Flood is a god of stories and "Absolute Terror" will be the name of Ncuti's final episode in the future.
Not sure if you'd be into it, but getting to ride along while you react to all of the 4th Doctor's classic era stories would be very enjoyable.
