Pressing pause on the house build...

- We are by no means stopping work on our 1000 sq/ft mortgage free house. But...we've decided to wait a month or two and see how things pan out before spending the $7-8,000 dollars on concrete that was planned next month.
To be clear, the economy/housing market doesn't really affect our build. We're building the house for as little money out of pocket as possible, so it's not like it doesn't make financial sense moving forward. We just want to stockpile a little extra cash in these uncertain times.

Please make more content? You guys are really interesting to follow. Best of luck to you
I should have made this more clear in the video: This is NOT pressing pause on making new videos! Just on pouring concrete next month. We're very much enjoying getting back on RUclips :)
Edit: I should also add this probably seems weird to post a video about slowing things down right after “getting started.” To us this was a big decision because we’ve been working out on the property for the last 2 months.
Very kool Mike
So glad to see you all back on here! I've been so curious what you all have been up to :) Excited to watch your new videos!
Are you able to provide us all with an update?🤞🤞🤞
Loving the frequency! Thanks Mike!
Mike, please post the feel-good warehouse video. You can add a disclaimer to it, but we want to see it.
Good to see you guys back at it!
Good to see you back bro! Sounds like a wise choice to me....Stay well!
Good to see you back. Cheers from Oz mate.
Great to see you guys posting again! Hang in there. It's going to be a rough ride, but I think we'll be good. :)
I say post the warehouse video with a date on it. Time capsule videos are good for reflection.
Sorry to hear about the pause on the job. Strange times for everybody - all the best to you. 👍
Appreciate the updates and your focus on the goal. When i was younger many told me my plans would fail when i got married, had kid &/or got older. Well been married 25 year, unsuccessful with having kids and well, i am middle aged now and the naysayers were wrong. The current unfortunate situation will pass. They always do. Keep up the good work.
Just watched this. Nice lot. I hope everything is going well for you guys. You. We’re smart to sit on some cash. The price of wood is crazy right now.
Looking good. Also interested to hear the backhoe story
Nice video Mike, liking the new content from Down Under. Stay safe and healthy.
Man I love that you guys are back lol
i got $50 says there's going to be a shipping container behind the house for your offices within a month of you moving in. lolz. Why not negotiate with the tennants a little? Unless there's ones you want out. Give them time to get the loans from the govt, and then slowly move the rent payments back to the first. The insulator guy doesn't need any help because housing construction is essential apparently.
Also, if the land is low, don't just raise up an area for your house. make sure you plan for a skunky water pool and make sure water has a path from the house to the pool.
As someone that has cleaned a few acres of brush much like you are doing, might I suggest you take a look at the Ratchet Rake for a possible solution. After seeing it, I built my own and it was very useful to drag that small stuff together without piling up a ton of dirt with it.
Can we get an update on how things have gone with the warehouse?
Smart moves. I would hold too. Plus you can get better deals on everything if the economy really tanks. Small house, large lot. That is the only way we live. Every house we owned was tiny on large acreage.
What's the status on the house build?
Is this Costa Rica still?
I've been looking for a property to build on in Florida similar to what you are doing. Curious what county you're in?
Anybody know, In most Florida counties away from the city (unincorporated in my case) what's usually the law about storing stuff on a vacant residential lots? Say you left that equipment on your lot that you own and pay taxes on, can somebody file a complaint? Can you get a citation? I'm asking for myself. I am sure if I ask the county they will give the textbook answer of you can do absolutely nothing with your vacant lot until you build and get occupancy... and btw, taxes are due.
Maybe you guys could do an update on FIRE, and how that is working out even in times like these?
Have you thought about mulching all the greenery instead of burning, then either keep it for your own landscaping purposes, or sell it
Thats Great job alway buy your lots cash if you can ...... make the home building way easier than you think.
Boom
Smart
Great to see more of your face. Glad things are still moving forward even if that's in a different time frame.
Just be careful with your trees, I'm sure you've done the research, but piling dirt around trees is not healthy. Like I said , with all you research you probably have all you trees planned out but I would hate to see you lose more.. Thanks for the update!
Tell us, show us! :)
Post the warehouse update video, we're freaks we don't care.
Haha agreed! :-)
Update?
They disappeared.
@MikoWorldwide No, they started a family. They have 2 babies now, so give them time to adjust to their new life. I believe they are still active on instagram, though.
I remember all the big plans you had... selling your old place, the videos on the road, etc. what happened?
They started a family.
Is this in Costa Rica?
I think he said Florida in a previous video
Please post the video. I've got nothing but time and data
4:36 It's not kind to tease addicts w/ the goods and then keep them stashed away, Mike.
