- Since filming this video we've received our permits and started clearing more overgrowth. The plan is to build a 1000 sq. ft. 3 bed/2 bath house 100% mortgage free. I ended up needing to pay off the $40,000 lot loan in order to get our permits which turned out to be very bad timing with everything going on in the world right now. Not much I can do about it now except move forward!
I'll be posting a new video soon with the progress made so far next week.

Cool! I hve the following suggestions after having built my own house: Overinsulate and air seal, this will reduce your cooling load and thus cooling expenses. I live in a heating dominated climate and I built my house with extra insulation, heating is 90% done with a mini split and 10% by baseboard electric heaters in the bedrooms.
Plan the building to be site-aware, keeping the west facing windows smaller and well shaded to reduce evening heat loads. same for the south windows in general. Place the garage north/east facing to keep the sun off of the door which keeps the garage cooler.
I used a Viega manifold for plumbing with home-runs, It's very easy to work with while building and you can turn on circuits as they are completed.
Plan the kitchen with 42" of walking space minimum, the common 36" is too narrow
Plan a large covered outdoor space, For the money I feel this is crucial for life in a smaller home.

Absolutely! Probably garden and chickens first, then rain collection, then solar.

Warehouse is fantastic. I actually had a video about how good things have been going but it didn’t seem appropriate posting it in such uncertain times. The next year will determine if our plans are conservative enough.
Edit: I should have made it clear what “our plan” is. We can cover our fixed costs with a 70% vacancy rate which I thought was extremely conservative. The next 1-3 months might prove that incorrect.
Mike, your videos are always very inspiring. It is amazing where hard work and being smart with money can get you. Looking forward to more videos on the build. Yes. I have an independent dealer license, bond, and garage liability insurance. Total cost is about $165/mo

I wonder what the flood plain data is for that area.
About 80 square feet of our 80,000 square feet is covered by the 100 year flood plain. So technically we’re flood zone A but we should be able to appeal that.

It’s kind of difficult to say because the startup costs were written off this year. I would say somewhere around $20,000. Most expensive car was a $40k tesla, but most were $5-10k

I’d like to start making videos about each of the cars I buy and sell. Repairs, profit margin etc.
Mike and Lauren that would be great! Maybe even sell a course 🤷🏻♂️. What scares me the most is dealing with titles, registration, bill of sale, and how to transfer that over from the auctioneer, to you, to the new owner once you sell it. Seems like a hassle.

You can get 2 acres in Oregon for $5K
it's the pERFECT time to buy vacant land! You just didn't get the right deal and plan properly! We bought land in cash for $500 bucks and all we have to do is clear some of it for less than 1,000 and no permits required!

That would work for about 2 years when they require forward progress on permits. We’ve considered it, but moving forward makes more sense for us.

Of the video regarding selling vehicles. If you are licensed, more power to you! It’s a good career to establish. I don’t understand the title of the video why it’s not a good time to buy land?
You don't have to be licensed to "flip" vehicles, which is what he does, but mainly just with motorcycles and RV's, BUT if you watch his previous video about "coming out of retirement" you will know that HE IS a licensed automobile dealer. In that video he goes to the DMV to get his official documentation.
