The Defense strategy appears to resemble a scattergun approach, basically offering anyone with previous history of questionable behavior as a potential culprit. The inference he wants the jury to draw is that each alternative suspect is just as likely to be implicated in the crime as his client. However, he has nothing substantive to offer, evidently he feels formulating speculative questions which make the LEO witnesses appear confused or uncertain about their investigation somehow equates to reasonable doubt. I hope the jury just dismisses this as a fishing expedition, it produced nothing other than noise.

Is this defense attorney getting paid for each name he drops in his cross-examination? I'm glad the State attorney finally had his fill of the Defense's nonsense and laid it out clearly that there was no one else to consider other than CBR after they had his confession and were able to locate Mollie's body, solely at his direction. All the key information came from the defendant, and combined with the forensic material found in his car, there was absolutely no reason to consider anyone other than CBR.
The Defense's case is built on raw speculation and confusion, which in my mind falls far short of reasonable doubt. Their only hope for acquittal is built on the exclusion of his entire testimony, which will not happen here, but could be offered (again) on appeal.
