Just don't do it. You're going to regret joining a police department in a Democrat run city.

These are also the places that pay officers the best too, though. If I was to take a job in Kansas I'd make 27k less starting pay while being further away from the 'comfortable living' average salary for that state than I would be taking that same job in Maryland. It's a harder choice than you'd think for someone trying to be a cop.

Based on new state legislation nobody wants to be police in Maryland. All agencies in Maryland are short staffed.

Property taxes in Baltimore County are going up and yet quality of services are going down. Other jurisdictions are better equipped and better staffed. What is Johnny O doing to improve this situation?

They won’t hire more than retire?!?!?
Just slipped that in? That means more people are applying than they will hire even though they are short!
    WHY?!?!?!?!

So everybody who applies should be hired?
Heck they even decline some applicants at Walmart but you want “good” cops

Because being a police officer requires a degree of integrity that not everyone is going to reach, applying before being physically in shape, etc. That and Bmore County doesn't seem to have its act together in general, hell even the city has dumped more into bettering their recruitment efforts than the county has but the city's staffing shortages are way worse. There's not going to be a good answer until local politicians realize they in fact do need police to handle crime.

They need more cops to empower the police organization. What kind of short staffed when you see multiple cop cars driving around tailgating each other all day long? 🤣 Every states are the same. They need more cops to do the revenue 🤣
