To simplify it all I view the F#dim7 as just B7b9 with an F# in the bass, then yes Bsus4 to B, I played E Phrygian dominant when it all comes back in because that riff it comes into is based off E Phrygian dominant which leads us back to the chorus in Amin Overall the song is based off 3 sounds Emin for the intro and verses (there is some chromaticism happening Emin, F#7sus4, Fmaj7#11 in the intro) then similar stuff after The chuggier uptempo riff is E Phrygian dom, also the proggy bridge/outro Then chorus is loosely based on A minor, when taking what the melody plays over the power chords you get Amin (add 9), F7, Cmin6, Bsus4 Then the solo which is still primarily Amin although the focus somewhat shifts to Dmin to begin the progression (D Dorian really but I’m not really thinking modally there, just trying to smoothly play through all the changes) So there it is! Sorry if I missed anything it’s after 12am hear euro time and I’m doing this off the top of my head
Wow, thank you so much for such a thorough response man! Never would’ve thought of the dim7 as just being an altered dominant without the root, going to have to explore that idea more myself. Really cool to hear how you were viewing things harmonically, much appreciated!
I knew right away hearing this solo this was Ryan’s taste. It had all the teeth Ryan did back in the Ritual album. Hands down of the best solos in TBDM history along with Brandon’s.
It was tricky for me to figure out what worked best as well, I ended up functionally economy picking it. My email and Instagram are in the video description, drop me a message via one of those and I can send a more detailed explanation or a video playing through it slowly, whatever helps!

This is one of the best solos I've heard in a long time. Been stuck in my head since I heard it. Nicely done.
You gotta do more solos. Adds so much more dimension to the sound. Awesome playing.

Probably my favorite Ryan Knight solo ever. Well done as always dude!
Thanks dude! It’s so good, Ryan and Brandon have got to be the sickest duo in the modern metal era
Incredible work. I love hearing Ryan's influence on the new music. With Brandon and Ryan both writing together, we're in for a wild ride.
Smooth like butter 👌Love the demo at the end with the tab too!
Better than perfect composition.
Flawless dude!!
God, you fucking killed it.
Thanks!

I am having trouble figuring out the picking on the ascending run at 1:08, any tips?

What kind of pickup in the Laiho? Sounds killer.
DiMarzio D Activator. Definitely gets some gnarly tones, I gotta record a full song with it so you can hear the rhythm tones it produces!
@@ChrisJonesGuitarist Real juicy, scrapey and articulate. All in a good way
How did you archieve this tone?
TSE Audio 808 + Ignite Amps Emissary plugins. Both free!
Tuning? Is the tab in C standard?
yes it is!
Yes, C standard. I always put the tuning in the video description, for future reference!
