I have a set of 5.1 surround sound speakers I'm using right now. And I've had them since my first real gaming rig. It's survived use daily almost never being turned off for the past 15 years except for when power outtages happen or I was moving them. That said they've survived moving from the house I grew up in, the first shitty room I rented, the room across the hall, then moved to another house, and again to where I live now. Still sound good, can still be crunk without distortion issues and you can feel the sub woofer bark the wind at you.
Few objects in my life have stayed in my life for so long as these speakers, and they've dropped down, actually broke out a fan blade of one of the desktops when a speaker fell on it, so i broke off other fan blades to even the weight of the spin, and the one time I thought they were finally wearing out and hearing rattling distortion, it's because a piece of clear cellophane plastic was being blown and vibrated by the sub woofer. Took it away and clear again.
Never in my life has a piece of sound equipment lasted so long, so well, so reliably, and it's taken some hefty power brown outs and the likes that made them vibrate hard and complain, but when proper power is going, they keep on going proper. I've seen others ask for more that won't give you half of the life dedication these will.
And mine aren't advertised for their suitability, so you can imagine how the life jacket holds out. I don't hear people talk about em much, and I can't remember the last time I've ever seen an Altec advertisement, was glad to discover they're still around. Now that I know they make a bunch of heaphones, I probably know what my next pair are going to be.

A really good feature is that its compatible with Bluetooth battery monitor. I got one and nest to my Bluetooth icon is a battery gauge, it works amazing.

I found one on the side of the road today, in a 45 mph speed zone. It has a big scuff on the side and the backdoor is missing, but it works just fine minus a small hiss.
I have a waterproof altec Lansing speaker and I have altec Lansing nano pods
I have the bluetooth Altec Lansing waterproof and dustproof. I love them. Beats headphones are not even waterproof or dustproof.

Once you use get it connected look in your right corner top it shows and upright battery that's your percentage your speaker :)

I need help the control's on mine won't respond and I can't connect to it with Bluetooth or AUX it's just sitting there with a steady blue light and I can't turn it off help?
I use my mini in the junkyard and can hear it over the equipment running and beeping. It's a great little guy.

+alwinisking Kumar I haven't used the armor XL so can't comment on that. Mini jacket and life jacket are very similar but the life jacket comes with more features like a built in battery for charging phone, passive radiator, NFC etc.

I purchased a Mini Life Jacket several months ago that was on sale at Walmart for $40(Because they just came out with newer versions of this speaker that can last 6 hours longer). Mine unfortunately didn't come with a stand. Also, my charger port broke, but amazingly, the battery didn't die out yet despite my constant use. And does it last longer when playing through Aux input?

Ah, okay. Hey, I found a way to still be able to charge my speaker, despite the charger port being broken! I just had to pull out the piece, plug the wire to it and angle the speaker!

Are you pressing and holding the power button? That should work. If not, make sure that it is fully charged.

Manish Idnani ive had both the jbl sounds way better but i go kayaking and i wanted something waterproof the jbl is only splash proof...all around durability the altec... but if its never gonna see water the jbl straight up
My (US Version) lifejacket 2 has the USB out to charge my phone. So it's strange that's yours does not. And all the sites you show says it does.

I dropped mine in a salt water pool. It started releasing bubbles and descended underwater. I pulled it out and it started making crackling sounds. RIP

+Jonathan Moore There is nothing that specifies you can't do it but most often anything waterproof can stay under water for 30 mins. I tested for almost an hour and nothing happened. The manual doesn't specify any time limit buy be careful.

I love my Lifejacket!!! It charges an iphone 6plus really fast and there is still juice in in for a while. I trash electronics really fast, and owning one for a while most definitely passes any quality test! You can see her floating on a video I let her float instagram U:dorianloverr-I can safely say this baby will be with me for a loooong time! I just hope the battery lasts good cycles. I love the design, the design is really unique and that Beautiful blue is super!!! Five star design. Soumd quality I agree needs little bit more depthness but only for Audiophiles. You forgot to mention the ANNOYING on/off/connected voice that is so loud, probably max volume. No clue how to lower or turn off the voice.
