Inside a $11.95M 70-Acre Estate With Its Own Greek Amphitheater | On the Market
For almost 12 million dollars, this house actually looks reasonably priced
Liam Eng Yh boii, price only needs to drop by another 8,740,000 and they got themselves a deal
I'm buying it.
@FBI i see what you did there
@@Die4dutch2 it's a joke bc it's the fbi and they know where you live
Gregor Korošec I’m aware of the meme but this house is actually in the state Connecticut so he could be serious. Idk maybe the joke went over my head and u can r/Woosh me
Not a fan of the furniture (the house is still gorgeous), but there is so much house that the price seems weirdly reasonable in comparison to those NYC/LA prices.
I think the same
Timechaser you cant buy a property like that in LA. Maybe you could buy the land for $200 million in LA.
@@MyDsmall that whole house and tennis lodge + other outbuildings need to be restaged *100%!!* 😱 ..but there's so much space, so many rooms that it's understandable why a realtor/real estate business wouldn't want to (or was not able to) take on that financial responsibility.. esp., if the current owner(s) chose not to invest in that or could not afford to.. who knows what kind of debt may be owed on it, as well.. could have been used as collateral for something - so many unhappy possibilities.
plus, it has been on the market for years, which means there's at least 1 or 2 major issues with the property, besides all the possibilities i listed in my long OP, in the main thread. 😐
@@bngr_bngr yes, one would, have to be in one of the outlying towns to find that much land in L.A. County or 'nearby!!' same re: NYC.. you'd have to go way out.. heard *upwards* land in the Hudson River area can be nice, some large properties there - but still fairly expensive, according to some locals.
New York City, indeed! and in California: San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Marin County, you'd be buying a matchbox sized apartment or house for the price of that Connecticut property! 😯
[ok, a place with few bedrooms, perhaps, with variation in square footage [+ some 'real' amount of land in the suburbs].. but definitely exponentially *smaller,* much less space in comparison!😱
even in NorCal you'd have to look long and hard for any acreage like that for sale in the Bay Area.. definitely, with only a handful of exceptions in some close-knit cities and towns.. generally, a seeker would have to look to the outlying communities.
but plenty of properties like that are available if someone is willing to commute at least 1.25 - 1.5 hours (or more!!) for work or other city things (and many people commute to work for an insane number of hours each way, just to be able to afford to live in a very basic fashion, it's actually heartbreaking, relatives living with them at home or not it's no life).
but California, even far out, is so expensive! i was living away for many, *many* years and if i didn't have my own family of origin here, it would be impossible for me to afford to rent or buy my own property at this time.. family discounts on property help a lot!
if you don't have any relatives who can help with that and you think you want to relocate to one of those metro areas, if you're an adult, better marry *up!* 👍 or find a sugar daddy.. or sugar momma, whatever other adult floats your boat - just make sure you genuinely like each other a lot if you want it to last!😄🤣😆😊
Timechaser the furniture dont go with each other
When I buy the house, I expect to breathe in award-winning oxygen.
LMAOOO
Hahahahahah
Imagine if the house is haunted. You'd also be hearing award-winning ghosts breathing, lmao!
Then you'll be breathing out award winning Co2 to.
@@Avidcomp, lol.
I've been watching too many of these, because this house looks like a screaming deal lol
Ethan Colburn fr 😳
youd need to spend another 500k-1M to refurniture every room.
12mil and no steam sauna? pffffft.... weak...
I thought that too. Its cus its not in LA
But why this place when you could get a beautiful 1-bedroom apartment in San Francisco for $11.9M?
I’m surprised so many people don’t like it. This is honestly one of the coolest houses I’ve ever seen. Just let me sleep in that tennis house and I’ll be happy lol.
Andrew M the furniture just does not go with the house... also.. it doesnt go with the other furniture
I think so as well, it's a gorgeous house, one of those very rare times I get sad for not being able to purchase a property shown on AD lol
I think people don’t like it because they no they can never afford it 😂 a lot of people are bitter like that lol
let me sleep in the amphitheater with my own private bathroom. college student living in Vancouver and sharing a 1 bedroom apartment with 4 other people, that amphitheater would be a dream come true right now T_T
I'll sleep on the tennis court jus give me a sleeping bag and a cot
“You know where the tennis rackets are?”
“Probably in our award-winning storage barn”
Lol when I heard the "award winning storage barn" I was like what? They give out awards for barns?
0:30 I was so annoyed when the storage barn won that award, the footbridge definitely deserved it, but the storage barn!??! What was the "Storage Barn of the Year" award committee even thinking about?
Best comment
Corbin Forselius dont think he was joking- look at his profile
@@blueanimul oh God
@@blueanimul I take Storage Barns very seriously, and you should too.
I am more disappoint that they didn't show any of these in the video.
That weird greek temple looks perfect for ritual sacrifi... i mean uhhh cook outs....
*Jeffery Epstein style*
*The Skull and Bones society would like to know your location*
Midsommar pt 2
😂😂😂On point
the “modern” furniture looks like 2004 modern furniture that you’d find in the sims 2-
it is super super cozy though i’d want to live there ngl
Good comparison!!
Soo true
It's greek
If you’ve watched enough of these then you know this house is actually really cheap for what it’s worth. The amount of land and amenities are great even though the internal design and furniture is lacking! What a steal!
I love the architecture of the house. So beautiful. Not a fan of the interior design and furniture, but wow...that's a beautiful house.
Not digging the theater seats.
no way you can get 20 people in there. 9 people and 3 of them get stuck with the middle seat.
@@Ileumn That, and the place is uglyyyy.
Honestly i was thinking that too, they need to put less old timey couches in my opinion
Exactly !! No reclining chairs
Couches look uncomfortable! Does it have surround sound!?
The interior is soooo outdated. They haven't decorated since the late 70's
@Dave Franklin You just don't know what real style is
@Wiikstrom IS BETTER THAN PROMETHEUS KANE Listen sonny, this is between me and asswipe here. Stay out of it!
Lulu More like 1996. That’s where I would time stamp the furnishings and finishes.
True! That's totally has been!
And that's why it can be called "THE REAL STYLE " ..
The furniture is very old for the modern house
Modernist furniture and architecture is a 19th century aesthetic movement, not "modern" in the literal sense.
I'm sorry, you can just bring your crappy Ikea furniture into the house. I'm sure it's more "modern".
I like it that the furniture is still modern but with a classic touch...
I don't think furniture comes with a house..It's just for show I think
Judging from the architecture and furniture, my guess is that the house was built in the 90s. The owner has probably moved into a retirement home or passed away.
“Honey. I said you need to mow the roof!”
It's 70 acres... nobody living there would ever mow for themselves, or clean.
This is a beautiful property and it actually seems to be a good value compared to the other properties you guys show lol
This house is so big, the left side of the house could be being robbed and you wouldnt even know
Many people who comment say that the interior furniture were so outdated, but for me it does'nt matter as soon as i have a 70 acre of land, tennis court, my own pond, ampitheather, indoor pool, cinema theater, etc. I will be happy tho
"modern furniture?" 🤔🤔🤔
Yes it is modernist furniture. As in 'modern architecture' of 20th Century.
@@dhruvbs 😂
I almost jumped out of my seat when she said that! 😂
Hah
Modern in the 70's 😝😆😜
Of all the multimillon dolar houses so far, this one actually looks like a home
"Hey you want to see my award-winning storage barn?"
"ummm ok.."
The interiors let the house down
Another house that although is less expensive than the rest, still flexes on me
the kitchen looks like a chipotle lmao
I bet he has Chipotle employees hired to make him burritos in his kitchen.
My thoughts exactly haha
I’d rather live here than some 70M apartment in NY
♥️
How does a storage house have more awards than me?
imagine winning an award for a *storage barn*
I still laugh every time I hear "this could be YOURS for [insert insane price]"
The kitchen looked cheap I guess I just don’t like birch
Ciaran Gold the kitchen is for. The help
Dogsoldier 1950 fair point but even my “helps” kitchen is quartz
My first kitchen has linoleum counter tops. I survived and wish I had them back
It's not exactly the best of MCM. The kitchen seems to suffer from dated, low opulence.
It looks like those countertops are custom-poured concrete, which doesn't look great on camera but which is actually really really nice in person - really soft and kind of sparkly. And though I'm not an expert, I think the cabinetry is MDF, and the whole MDF + concrete thing is HUGE with architects, as is creating a 'kitchen moment' that feels cozier and more intimate in comparison with the soaring ceilings of the other living spaces. I'm almost positive that in person, the kitchen would actually seem a lot less dated/cramped. (I lived in a huge loft for a while and I can't even begin to tell you how you end up longing for a cozy kitchen or den or something sometimes.)
Though I agree that the tile behind the stovetop is a bit grim.
Here i go again looking at houses i'll never be able to afford unless i win the lotto but they are inspiring
0:15 when u look at the sofa u see the flowers right? Thats actually huge Finnish company’s design, the design is called ”Unikko” The company is called Marimekko and we looooove their stuff here in Finland ( also very expensive too)
And the sofa itself is also Finnish design, made by Artek.
I know a lot of people are talking about the furniture but if I owned this home there would be a party 7 days of the week.
@3:37 I didn’t know a waveless pool stopped the displacement of water...
They’re designed so the waves you create swimming don’t reverberate back off the sides of the pool. It’s helpful when you’re swimming laps and turn your head to breathe so you don’t get a mouthful of water unexpectedly. Still a bit of a gimmicky description.
You know, I watch a lot of these "I'll never afford it" house videos and I gotta say, this is by FAR the most comfortable looking one I've seen. Had I the money, and had I the desire to live in the northeast, I'd seriously consider this one.
Gardner: Wow I have to mow this much land. WHAT DO U MEAN THE ROOF
0:35 “all this could be yours for $11,950,000” I think I just shat myself
Actually thats not that much🤷🏼♂️
@@unfollower it is much but for what you're getting is actually "cheap"
This house has more wood than me in the morning
Ok ok, subtle flex calm down
*knock knock* ✊
Finnish sauna with a Marimekko sofa outside. Love the touch of Finland 🇫🇮
That tennis house over looking the tennis court. So this is what true love is.
Can be used as the location for as serial killer movie
The amount of wood made it look like the walls of a caravan. They look too thin
Feels like a bad storm could blow it down
You said what I just thought after watching the video!
Agree!!!
It totally looks like the side wood panel of a typical 90’s van/stationwagon.
The architectural details are so beautiful.
"great view of the pond"
*cuts to view of ginormous lake*
You'd need a bunk house in the woods for all the cooks, maids, gardners etc
They could sleep in the tennis house which accommodates four or more.
The storage barn...
This was definitely one of those “eyes wide shut” houses...this must have been where Skull and Bones used to meet up
My favourite house and I watched nearly every video since I'm in quarantine haha. It's perfect, quite and peaceful. Really wish I had enough money to buy it an live in there. Only that needs to be changed is the furniture which looks pretty outdated but all in all this house looks like a home. This house has a soul
A Finnish sauna and the design on the rec rooms chair was from Finnish company called Marimekko, torilla tavataan!
Torilleeee
Etin Suomi kommenttia liian kauan, mutta nyt tori kutsuu
This is probably the best house I've seen on this channel, it suits people of different walks of life
Depending on the location, this is a really good potential investment. I just need $11,950,00 😂
I love this place, it's a little eclectic but pretty; the swimming pool is amazing and the guest wing looks so cozy. Imagine what a great holiday house this would be to get away from everything!
Money can't buy style, VERY IMPORTANT. Some less expensive houses on this channel look far better than this.
What do you mean? I looked down the videos and they're all 20, 30, 80, 190 million dollars. This is THE CHEAPEST I could find
Lol nope, also none of those houses offer 70 acres of land and a Greek amphitheatre. And if you have money to buy this house it means you have money to buy new furniture
I think the house has some lovely warm, rich tones that could work really well if you want to have a bohemian vibe. I think that adding colourful carpets, tapestry, pillows as well as some plants could really help make the home feel inviting and not so bland.
"award-winning storage barn"
LOL
Weird flex but ok !
If I had the money, it would surely be one of my first options! compared to other properties with similar characteristics, it has an excellent price. And I really love it. more than the house itself (which I think is very beautiful anyway) the whole environment in which they built it is beautiful and seems very peaceful
when the outside theater is nicer than your home
RIP
This is the most sensible house video that I have seen so far and I have seen many hundreds. Your voice is soothing, the audio and filming are excellent and a little soft music is only added as the cameraman moves from room to room. Hats off to everyone involved. Unfortunately the house isn't to my taste, neither would I be able to afford it. Lol.
Lmao love how people are criticizing this house as if they can afford it in the first place
My mom criticised me, turns out she couldn't afford me either :(
This is a nice house with a lot of land. Total privacy with a lot of trees and away from the bustling noise. Definitely worth it way cheaper than those 20+ million dollar apartments in NYC.
The living room is like a lobby of a hotel
This is 10 times better than some of the 50+ million houses you see on this series.
She said the house has a "moderna style" lol sorry, the furniture looks like it's from the mid 70s. But it's a beautiful property.
This is the best house on this channel. For my humble opinion .
I’m sorry a waveless pool??? Is that why it’s 11 million, the future is wild.
*who the heck wants a waveless pool lol.. that's like wanting a heatless heater*
How has this not sold yet? Seemed well priced originally at $11.95m but still for sale now (April 2020) at $8.75m which seems incredible value for such a property.
Imagine being in quarantine in that
I'm a huge fan of watching big houses and mansions. Of all the houses i've watched for a bout years. This could be the most epic and astoundingly beautiful house i've seen so far. Imagine the cost it's all worth it. 👌
"Philanthropic" events lol
Hasan F I thought that too. I mean, that’ll swing it for most people. My philanthropy efforts stumbled purely because I didn’t have a dedicated space 😂
"Pedophilic" events
Or a rager
Downstairs in the media room the three tier sofas!! That is nice. That would be hold and cuddle up to your loved one. A great property as a whole. Thank you.
House and grounds are freaking amazing, the interior though... meh
Finally a house that isnt tacky on the inside or with marble and shiny surface everywhere. Love the furniture and materials, all that stone on the outside was a let down.
4:06 prepare to get dizzy!
12 fireplaces?! I need at least 20 fireplaces!
Yo where’s the landscaper at? Those dead grass patches need some love.
this house has alot of refurbishing potential! i love seeing modern houses but also houses with revamp potential
no thx i've watched enough horror movies to know how it's gonna end
I was going to purchase this property but after reading the comments I changed my mind.
Thanks guys
Are you trying to fit Rome in there?
Beautiful mansion with an original tennis house and Greek amphitheater.
The interiors remind me of a dated cruise ship
I didn’t know there was awards for storage barns and foot bridges, but seeing them, I get it.
Who is handing out awards for storage barns?!
I do not understand how anyone can live without one small place of enchantment to turn to.
How should someone be able to sleep there if they know that the seating rows in the theater aren't lined up :/
When you watch so many of these crazy mansion videos and you hear $12 mil and you're like "well hey that's not a half bad deal"
4:08 couldn't go in there drunk... nope.
*or on psychedelics* 🍄🤣
Although my house doesn’t have all the many rooms and pools and gyms and lawns, what rooms we do have are just as nice as these ones, it’s not too difficult to decorate a house effectively to make it dope :)
Bruh she just said a waveless indoor pool. You mean like most pools?
perfect place to quarentine
The stone is nice, but way too much wood everywhere.
Agree. It gives that eerie outdated retro futuristic feel of the 60-70s.
This could’ve been a 24 minute video with a little more time in each space. I love to watch these videos. All the houses are amazing.
But who wants to live in Connecticut
A lot of people
Akhil P the person that will probably buy it will be a rich person from ny for example that wants a gateway house
Get it down to 7 million ..I’ll take it right now
The tf is going to mow that roof though?
The indoor pool is by far my favorite part of the house. The furnitures though...at least the house is not close to others.
Wheres this "award winning" storage barn?
I'm disappointed they didn't show that or the guest/gate house. I saw this property online a while ago and looked into some of it. Scroll down to "Storage Barn" at this link and it will give you a pretty good idea. It really is pretty sweet imo grayorganschi.com/projects/archive
The location is stunning and the tennis house and amphitheater are amazing. The house however looks like something Frank LLoyd Wright and Paul Bunyan sketched up while being drunk.
That walk in shower looks like its from prison
This is me!!! This has my written all over it
This episode should have been longer. Felt like they rushed it all.
Man this is the only house that is so God damn big and beautiful that makes 11 million $ look like a good deal
