Jason's guitar academy is extremely well worth it. It is one of the very best ways to spend a little money. It will develop your metal playing for real.
@@Emily_M81 Yes, the more the creator gets the better. Musicians have always been notoriously screwed up though the ways that happens keep evolving. Have a great 2025
Happy New Year Brother, GREAT advice, personally, I think you have a Great voice. Even though I don't sing, I still think your voice is inspiring. I can totally relate to the aging thing, even though I'm still going pretty strong after 50yrs of playing, I turned 61 just this past November & we did a New Year's Eve gig last night & when I woke up this morning, I kinda felt it, and I don't even drink, never did, but our bodies don't lie to us, when we need to rest, we need to do just that, so today, New Year's day, 2025, we just chilled & watched JAWS, now it's evening and I'm practicing for my next gig this Friday. So my point is, even though we get tired, it's great hearing Inspiring words from someone like you because you're gigging as well, so thanks Brother for all you do, we all really do appreciate it. Lots of success for you & your wife, Happy New Year Brother, Keep On Rocking, Rock On & God Bless.
Thank you, Dave, I appreciate that. I didn't have a gig NYE but I did play last night at Keel Farms winery in Plant City on New Year's Day! I love my craft beers but keep all that under control. And I stay away from liquor these days (I do have an occasional bourbon with my father-in-law). My wife taught me (or is still teaching me!) balance - something I didn't have in my early years. It's great that we're out there doing what we do man! I wish you the absolute best this year!
I've had the apprentice for a year now, I just subscribed to your academy... like 10 minutes ago! Looking forward to 2025 guitar skills!!! Happy new year, brother!!!
Wow dude almost 100k nice! Love hearing about goals and taking the time to do a retrospective on previous year goals. For me my musical goals are the same as last year, write and record at least three original songs, but never been able to do it 😂 definitely won’t be able to do it this year either but for a good reason. I just became a dad last year 😊also going to be busy with finding a new job and a house are my other goals, along with losing some weight, again 😅anyway good luck with your goals looking forward to more of your original music! 😎
Man, I'd love to see you achieve that goal this year! I remember in my younger days older folks saying how fast time goes by as we age...and I'm finding that to be extremely true these days!
Happy New Year! As someone that struggles with coming up with completely original things out of nothing, having something I can modify is a huge thing for me and I appreciate it. I'm really good at assembling things into something they weren't originally meant for lol. Here, to feel less alone lol: Beans beans the musical fruit The more you eat the more you toot. :D I like that window vs rear view mirror thing. It reminds me of something someone told me, that we have two ears and one mouth and should use them in that ratio. Last night I laid out a rough draft of a symphonic metal cover Testament's song Electric Crown, it helped me a lot on figuring out how to add the symphonic elements to any song :D Honestly strength training is great for a whole lot of things. One example is that more muscle mass is more tissue to soak up glucose for diabetes control.
I got my first gig playing orginals at bar towards the end of January. The feeling of playing orginals is really amazing. Good luck trying to get booked up playing some more orginals at places. It really is an amazing feeling.
I started watching for the live gig tips. I am working on a set list so I can start playing live. I love metal however, I haven’t watched any of your metal stuff because I’m focusing on acoustic. However, Nothing Else Matters, and Wasted Year has made the set list!
Yeah I almost made a separate channel for live solo gig tips but managing one channel is challenging enough! I do have an updated gear video for live shows coming out soon!
@ awesome, keep doing stuff because people are interested!! I almost started another channel going over all the processes of starting to gig, but decided it was too much work.
Jason- love the channel first off! Started watching you a few months back, since then I’ve played 4 open Mics and have been loving it. A lot of which, you helped me take the leap. Anyway, sounds like you were in the same position starting out possibly (working full time, and playing out when you can) and you later transitioned into more of a full time thing. Anyways, would you consider doing a video on your history with coming up - with your career before, your move to Florida and how that all came together? Keep rockin my friend! 🤘
Thank you for watching man...I'd like to do something like, though I do share a lot of bits of history throughout my videos. I do have the full story in this book (Amazon): amzn.to/40prnbb
Happy New Year Jason. Inspirational as always. I’m currently working my way through Metal Riff Master and getting a lot out of it. Looking forward to hearing more of your music this year! Thanks.
Cheers Jason! Your solo acoustic videos helped me reach my goals for 2024. After 5 years in an acoustic duo, I finally got out on my own and I love it. 2025 trying to keep it going but to incorporate more originals. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Jason! Thanks for the encouragement, and good luck with your goals next year! I do have one question tho… did you ever create the melodic death metal band that you spoke about in your C# tuning video? Just asking cause I’ve been looking all over your channel and can’t find anything else about it.

Happy New Year brother!! Finished up Metal Riff Master quite awhile ago but I keep going back to it. Looking forward to the solo course in 2025. 🎉🎉
Awesome to hear that and I'm working hard on the new course now! Oh, btw, I'll be adding a new module to Metal Riff Master early this year as well!

It really is. And cutting out Patreon as a middle man means a little more money for Jason, too :)
I am eagerly anticipating the lead course
