I found that Sentry Mode causes the most phantom drain as it records all cameras while the car is parked. Disable Sentry if you are parked in garage at home and the phantom drain will be negligible.
I would add a glass roof screen cover to help reduce heat on a hot day and improve efficiency as a result of AC working less. I installed one it makes a big difference on a hot day.

Hi so question ? Do we charge 95% is it good and 5% saved for regen braking . The way I understand also what drive mode is good for daily driving please reply
ny tesla model 3 - 3 months old. its 100% battery range deduced from 100% 439km to 436km fully charge. does it mean a bad signal for battery? only 3 month driving
The tire pressure listed inside the door is a compromise between comfort and range. If you want the max range inflate them to at least 50psi, the ride will be more harsh but the pressure is still way below the burst rating (which is not listed on the tire). Preconditioning the battery will not increase the range, it just speeds up the charging time. Regenerative braking doesn't add much range at all, unless you are coasting down a steep hill for a long ways. These were not 9 good ways to maximize range!
Do not do 50psi. At 45psi, I have found it to still be comfortable while maximizing range. Preconditioning while plugged in doesn't use the battery to heat up or cool the cabin. So yes, you are saving range and maximizing your battery. Regen braking, when used properly, makes your Tesla far more efficient than if you were not using it. I have found to be at or below 255 Wh/mi when I use regen braking properly. These were 9 straightforward ways to maximize your range.
@@MattDanadel Of course yes, and that is why the door psi rating is a compromise. But if you want max range (or fuel economy with an ICE), 50psi is the ticket. But I will say this. I've owned two hybrids over the last 15 years and filled the tires to 50psi and never noticed any excessive or uneven tire wear.
If charging sites is a problem , very true. Range Maximus is important. I was all about careful conservation until a little bird said , "Just drive it the way you drive your other vehicles". Today 25F 100 mile trip. 203watts/mile. I'm very happy with that.

I've owned my model 3 for 1 week now and it is so hard to not step on it 😂 it is too much fun!
As a new Tesla owner, I found this video to be very helpful. In depth & insightful!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed this video

Where did you get the screen and cost?
@@TreeHugger826 i got one for about 60. Make sure you get one with a second light covered liner that goes on top. Makes a big difference.
There are a lot of good tests comparing the Gemini wheels compared to the stock rims without the covers and they only help about 2-3%
tips are really helpful. How many times your Tesla charging in a week? Can I charge my Tesla when it still has around 40%?

Thanks for this info.
I’m your new subscriber.
Great tips thank you
Really enjoyed to presentation “style”- looking forward to your videos
Thank you
Thank you Matt.
Super useful, thank you!
I assume that driving a Tesla the speed limit down to the minimum speed limit will help increase battery range and efficiency.
Super helpful!
Well done!
Thanks!
Nice video! Also really like your trunk and frunk mats, can you share where you got them from?

I find the Aircon eats the battery more than anything else
Yes, AC takes efficiency down 20 %. Try driving with it off.
by Tesla suggestion LFP battery can/should be charged 100% regardless regular every day usage or long trip
LFP is currently on one of the Model 3's. So you technically shouldn't charge to 100% on all the other Tesla's
Matt, just got a model y. Been experiencing some motion sickness. Any advice? Adjust settings? Drive slow?
Try changing the acceleration from standard to chill in the settings
Not being facscetious but drive smoother.
Hi so question ? Do we charge 95% is it good and 5% saved for regen braking . The way I understand also what drive mode is good for daily driving please reply
they added an option called "use brake when the battery is full" so it mimics the regen brake. you can then charge to 100%
Charge 100 %
You can see the differance
Hey, where did you get the mats with 'Model Y' printed? appreciate the link.
Shouldn’t you always leave the car plugged in when it’s not in use?
Yes
What about using chill mode? Does that help maximize the range?
Yes that helps maximize range as well
Kinda, if you can't control your right foot. Having it on full power mode doesn't hurt as long as you don't use it.
@@JackMott
Use cruise control = auto pilot
@@ArmageddonIsHere i tried but it phantom brakes so i gave up. my mazda can do traffic aware cruise control fine though.
@@ArmageddonIsHere I lose autonomy on tight corners when in cruise. Tesla will have to update this.
You have to tell me this. How and where did you get those white aero caps? I got black and I looked everywhere for white. Let me know :)
The aero caps on the Gemini Wheels for the Model Y Long Range come standard. Which vehicle do you have?
@@MattDanadel I have a model 3 with aero wheels. Was looking for a aero caps similar to your in that video :)
Hello. I heard you can buy a NEW Tesla from Enterprise if you own a business . Could you please confirm if this is true ?
No
I'm curious about the reasoning for avoiding 3rd party apps.
They may ping your tesla to get information, waking it up more frequently which causes a lot more energy lost when the car is sitting.
@@JackMott Can you put the apps to sleep?
Leaving you car plugged in doesn’t eliminate phantom drain !
(It arguably just hides it 😂)
It just means you car stays charged to a pre-set level.
Nice
How long should you precondition before driving?
5-10 minutes
5:35 travel light … less weight in the car ? Then you go on to show us two (unnecessary) mats front and rear ! 😂
Floor mats don't really add that much weight... I'm talking about heavier stuff you know.
what if you fill the cab with helium?
Number 10: Drive on Chill Mode
What about the new lfp batteries?

Normal. You'll see some degradation during the first year, then it'll be much less over time

@@MattDanadel I've done 50psi in all my vehicles for over a decade without an issue. And 50psi is well below the burst rating of the tires.
You do have a much higher risk of getting uneven tread.

@@MattDanadel I’m not sure you are not mixing up two different things here Matt … the battery temp and the car hvac.
Phantom drain is very real ! It can mean your Tesla uses £7 to £10 a week even if you don’t drive it!
Nope. Not true
❤
Your double parking everywhere you park and that will just get people mad at you, not good.

Thanks to my Alpha Male driving habits, my effective range on the MYP is 131 miles on 90% charge (269miles).
some people don't find that funny at all.
I think it's hilarious.
Basically, don’t use it at all if you don’t want to drain your battery.

The best way to save energy is to charge your Tesla to 90%, park it in your garage, then rent another vehicle to drive around.

Why do Tesla ship them with 50PSI ? Dangerous and wrongful !
Tesla doesn't ship them at 50PSI.
