- Today I unboxed a brand new art supply! The Crayola Signature Blending Markers. Watch to see my first impressions as well as a demo detailing how I would use these for my own art.
I've invested in Copic Markers, so I don't have a lot of use for these at this point in my life, but man, I wish I had these when I was 14, 15, or 16. I would have used these until they were dry! Especially since I was only using Crayola Pencils and Markers at the time. haha

Rae! I love you, Gurl!!

I like how throughout the whole beginning of the video she’s passive-aggressively telling herself how much money she wasted on these markers😂
Lol
They’re only $20.
@@matthewward5849 For Crayola, that is pretty expensive, especially when Ohuhu markers are about that price.
999th like. oof.
Lol
Waffles, colorless blenders are actually used to dim out colors, like if you want to lighten a color. They are not for blending, as confusingly that seems.
yeah, I used it for that as well, I just thought they were dual purpose. good to know!
As a marker noob, that’s good to know! Thanks! I keep trying to use them for blending and wondering why it didn’t do what I wanted.
DrawingWiffWaffles They are, but they’re not so much for blending two colors as much as they are for blending very light colors out to the white of the paper. I mean, you see what happens when you use them over color. It’s an unfortunate name, but I guess it was probably either that, or colorless marker, which would probably not work nearly as well for marketing.
Rio Illustrates yep! Thanks for clarifying further!
DrawingWiffWaffles and Ninja Steph, you’re welcome!
I would definitely whip out that loud ass container and cool ass markers during art time to flex on the other 3rd graders.
I was the coolest in my 3rd grade class because I had 10 color sharpies and 5 fabric markers.
mha Byrne I had the 64 crayons and scented markers in 3rd... 😎
Mr President what are you doing here?
Your in 3rd grade and you swearing that much?
@Pvt. Ryan Louis you're* dumbass
I love how supportive she is towards cheaper art supplies. I've seen other artists hate on the quality, etc of cheaper markers & stuff.
Love you!
Check @SuperRaeDizzle she does alot of reviews/fun videos! She also did a review on this, (she hated it), but she has a legitimate reason. (She's also really "real")
Ik some other artist hate these markers but its theyre opinions
Different people
Have different opinions okay
I imagine if you're trying to use them to blend, these would be a pain in the butt, and I can see why you would dislike them, but if you're using more in the colorblock/flat & layered color scheme, they seem to do a pretty good job. All about what you're looking for.
erin f Yeah. I’m a fan of appleminte but when she does reviews on other blending markers or art supply I feel like she makes them worse than they seem.
@ negative? That sounds pretty much a weird advertising strategy to do, even though I learned about advertising, I haven't heard about that, care to elaborate?
5:55 "well not this one. this one is dead *clicks tongue*" 😂 I'm not dying you are 🤣

ahaha, don't they? Although, when I was a kid, we had Eggo Waffles with Jelly inside them so... Seems like a fair trade. XP

what I was thinking
"I'm just going to draw something simple" creates a masterpiece
They can still be simple
Shut up
@@serbaneva4737 you shut up
Liv Caron why tho
Exactly!
that's so awesome! I love that "fancy" art supplies are becoming more affordable for everyone
Its nice that other companies are coming up with their own alternatives so we can have choices!
I know, it’s really convenient!
They are actually terrible...I tried them
@@komikkyo if you divide the price by the number of markers, you'll find that each individual marker is really cheap
@@xamfoam1438 did you use the type of paper they told you to use?
I'm almost positive that Crayola's Signature art supplies line was specifically made for young artists (like pre-teen and earlier) and for people who use adult coloring books. Because it's a recognizable, household name for art supplies, they're not too pricey, and the colors look vibrant. To put it a bit harshly, it's not for experienced artists who have standards lmao.
Also, I love how you keep sniffing the markers because they smell weird. I'm the exact same way! I don't care if it smells odd, I gotta keep sniffing it! I think I once got marker on my nose as a kid because of that, haha.
Lol, true about smelling the markers. These have a distinct smell, similar to a Sharpie. As soon as me and my Mom got into the car after buying these, I opened them up and smelled ALL OF THEM 😆 My Mom kept looking at me out of the corner of her eye from the driver's seat and all she said was "Lauren, your motion sickness is gonna be terrible if you keep smelling those markers." 😆 She thought I was trying to get high off the scent of markers 😖😆😂
I bought the crayola brush tips only because I didn't want to order online and I couldn't find Tombow in any local stores. Then I found Tombow and the quality is much better.
I think you're on to something, because I saw this and immediately thought about getting them because I'm not a pro artist and Crayola is at least a known brand to me. 😂 I think what confuses me with buying better quality markers (especially the copics and such) you get stuck buying multiple packs to get all of the colors. I can't just buy a single priced, reasonable range of all colors. As someone who doesn't make money from art and just wants to putz around with markers and isn't really into them, it's not making me want to try any.
Once my little brother ate the nib of a crayola marker... luckily they’re nontoxic!
@@skullfullofbooks7398 you can get small packs of copic or promarkers (probably other brands too) with a couple colors or different shades of grey that are a little cheaper than buying all the markers individually. The greyscale packs in particular I've found versatile enough to make finished looking pieces so they're good if you just wanna try out the markers. :)
Wisteria was a name I loooved when I was little. It was the perfect horse name. Obviously, it was a purple horse and she had wisteria vines on her

There's another brand called kuretake they also have wisteria for a light purple color 😅

How do you plan out your sketches? I love your drawing style so much!!! Maybe you could do a video on how to plan out sketches and poses? I dunno... LOVE YOU WAFFLES! :o
Watching her challenges and some of her box openings is a good way to see some of her sketching. As well as her InkTober stuff.
She kinda just brainstorms and draws everything that comes to mind hoping she might like something she might have found rediculous or that something dumb would lead to a great idea. It's very cool to see what ideas lead to others actually.
Something that also might be helpful is her video “four different methods [Drawing a Girl!]” bc in that video she showed a few methods of sketching

If it’s empty add some alcohol on the tip
Or close the marker and drop it in warm water for a 5 minutes
3m1ly N9uy3n K thanks
im actually getting these and i'll keep this in mind
@@b.fernanch8891 Adding rubbing alcohol (not drinking ofc) does work, but be careful not to add too much. I'm not sure about warm water as many markers have tiny holes in the cap.
These won't work if the marker is out of ink-only if the tip is dry
They are probably a good choice to take with you when traveling. If something gets lost, it's not the expensive stuff.
Waffles, the colorless blender doesn't blend two colors, it blends a color to white. If you want to blend two colors, you use the colors themselves to blend. Colorless blenders just make the color lighter.
Spontaneous Pentagonal Weirdness 'N Stuff I love how u stared the sentence waffleS, I needed a laugh thanks

Hi! Not sure if this will help, but I like to blend them with water since they are water-based. You could also try dipping the end directly in water and get a really pretty gradient. Hope this helps!
Although colorless blender can be used to lighten up a color, it can also be a base for the markers to blend on top of it, soooo it’s like the first step before coloring / blending. Not to blend something that you’ve already colored
Mitsuko Kurota WHAT
SuperHam haha yup, that’s what i’ve learned from using copics for a while now
Mitsuko Kurota wish i could afford copics lol. i need a job 😂
SuperHam lol well there’s a lot of cheap copic alternatives too, like ohuhu or touchfive markers. I think they have a pretty good quality and they behave like copics as well

hi waffles, I love you so much :) I have written a poem and it'd be amazing if you could try to bring the character it's based around to life. thank you for everything you do.
*Mary Lou*
In a village sat a little girl named Mary Lou,
She always wore red socks and never wore a matching shoe.
She'd always been bullied so she often felt forlorn,
But her mother had loved her from the minute she was born.
And whenever Mary Lou came home from school with a bruise,
Her mother would say, "You might not win, but you will never lose."
Mary Lou adored her mum, whenever she saw her, her eyes would shine,
She'd smile and think to herself, "She's my mum. She's mine."
And although Mary Lou had never really had a friend,
She knew her mother would be with her until the very end.
Now she keeps her head held high, red sock and mismatched shoe,
For nobody can ever tear apart Mary Lou.

You know appleminte made a review on these saying how bad and stupid they are. And you are saying there good....
WHICH SIDE SHOULD I GO FOR?!??! XD
Edit:Tysm for the likes! And I watched superraedizzle video!
I think it's up to our coloring style choice, I haven't used these markers before but I made a research and looked up few trials and reviews with drawings from various artists, I think these Crayola markers suitable for pop kind of art, no need for tons of layering in coloring using them, just one or two layering or more than that if you can, and it suits for coloring something cartoony or simplified style of anything, that's why it's a little bit hard to blend or mix more colors. :o (Pardon for my bad English ;-;)
Waffles
Rae said they were bad too
They are good but they run out kinda fast like I had them for 2-3 days and only one dried out but it might have been bc I colored a lot with that one
Yeah same with Rae Dizzle sooo
I love how you evolved from your artsnacks 2016 video where you said you were “embarrassed” because all I thought when watching it was “If anyone asks You had too much sugar and forgot to breathe” 👍🏼😭 (don’t worry I like purple too it’s a calming color ) And I love how you stayed true to yourself all this time. I only used these once and love them. I jest get creative. Dark brown is red and green green. I want a light brown, no. Jest get creative with other colors. I know there's no skin tones, but i jest get creative by using other colors. My favorite color of everything is blue, but my favorite color in this set is bubble gum. LOVE YOU GIRL! One of my insparation. You are so insparational.
AAAAAAAAAA I love your videos so much and your art just inspires me to pick up my pencil and draw (and it's been pretty tough to motivate myself these past months). I haven't been able to watch the past two weeks' though because of my classes so now that I have time, I'm on a binge-watching session. Keep up the good work, Rin!!
“Aww this one is kinda drying out because these are older than dirt”
idk I thought it was funny 😂😂
Just realized I have these ... forgot I bought them 😂
