  • This talk explores the profound impact of digitalization on the luxury fashion industry, emphasizing how it intertwines technology with creativity, sustainability, and personalization. Using flying as a metaphor for overcoming fears and achieving freedom, Belma connects to the broader transformation in fashion. She highlights the importance of digital technologies like AR, VR, machine learning, and AI in enhancing shopping experiences and merging online and offline retail. This digital revolution enables personalized experiences, ethical practices, and innovative design methods, such as 3D printing, redefining luxury fashion to align with sustainability and responsibility. Ultimately, Belma advocates for embracing digital transformation to achieve greater freedom, creativity, and a more inclusive, sustainable future. Belma Tvico, the oldest of three children, was born in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She immersed into the world of fashion at a young age, observing closely the work of her aunt who worked as a seamstress. She learned construction and sewing techniques as a young girl, and later strengthened her theoretical and practical knowledge at the Faculty of Technical Engineering, Department of Textile Technology. Her first semi-couture collection, presented in Sarajevo, defined what will later become the philosophy of Belma Tvico brand and her fashion persona− feminine contours defined by exquisitely constructed garments. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
