No, but Dead Eye makes the issue worse. That combined with half the player base preferring big, loud BBs and shit like a 30 second main battery reload, its no wonder why the game has devolved into "whoever has the better BB snipers" wins.
@@azurblueknights I don't think that's true though. Since the introduction of Dead Eye, BB's do LESS average dmg per game than before. If those BBs aren't pushing with their team, their team is going to have a lot less firepower for contesting or controlling caps. So if by some miracle the enemy team is pushing forward intelligently and managed to take a cap without BB support, good luck contesting that cap effectively with your own BBs sitting across the map. You're not going to find BBs who know that Deadeye is a trap skill very often. Which is why Deadeye makes the issue worse. That and the fact that no one likes getting blapped by one salvo if they actually try to ambush the BB that's just sitting there.
You just have to adjust with other ships as well. If 2 BBs are sitting back against the boarder unsupported thinking they are safe at camp just sneak over with a DD and torp them while the CS panic and try to turn tail away from the caps. Anything the team does to break up the fleet gives openings to take them down. Sometimes as a DD, its fun to just make the CV be detected and keep your distance so he will panic and pull a CS or two over for support then have them sit in open water with no target as you kite away. The team with the most ships supporting each other wins so you just have to break that up.

To be completely real, that last reload boost you were essentially double salvo-ing. You had 1 line of ripple fire going and before that one could finish you were starting another one. That makes me wonder what a full salvo spam on that low health reload boost would look like. I'd imagine it'd be like your full health reload boost ripple fire, but all guns blazing, so just wave after wave of incoming fire.
Imagine legendary mod Gearing and legendary mod Wooster in a div with an Austin Legendary mod Gearing can outspot a shima and it has great smokes And legendary mod Wooster has good radars and hydros with a reasonably short cooldown And all 3 have very high dpm The cancer would actually be unreal
A way to reestablish brawling as a thing would be to give BBs a skill which reduces their main battery reload speed significantly and decreases main battery dispersion slightly 1) the more ships are within your detection range or 2) the closer you are to a warship designated as your secondary's target :0 Dead eye can stay as it enforces ships like Slava or Champagne to not yolo and rush to the front but there should be an alternative skill for battleship lines which are supposed to brawl like the soviet and german BB lines. Don't know if it would work but atleast that's my ideas for now.
And yes, I know about that Skill which buffs your main battery reload when an enemy ( or something else) is within your secondaries firing range, but that reload boost is simply not enough. Yeah, believe or not. -10% is not enough as you can tell just by watching Flambass (or Flamu and Lord Mountbatten) and seeing that a few or sometimes all BBs are sitting basically at the border, lobbing shells all over the map. :/
A reduction of the damage control party or repair party when having two to three enemy ships within your detection range or secondary range would also be possible though in case of HMS Conqueror or USSR Kremlin it might not work according to plan at all.
For real though, can anyone name one core gameplay change over the years that's resulted in more dynamic and faster paced battles? Every change has made the game more passive; Radar, removing stealth fire, visibility bloom based on gun caliber, visibility in smoke based on gun caliber, carrier rework, every commander skill rework...
Radar would be much better if they had it so the detection was only on the mini-map just like real radar. So you know a ship is there but you cant really see it. That would be interesting as players will have to try to blind fire using only the minimap radar with no actual visual reference.
If you look at it the game has been going in this direction for years and realeased similarly "balanced" ships constantly. We had Des Moines, Hindenburg, Zao and Moskva as baseline Cruisers, along with Shima, Gearing, Z and Khaba as DDs. They were all fairly balanced with torps, firepower, speed...etc. Then we got Wooster as the first Rapid fire HE spammer, then kitekaze- rapid fire, Harugumo- rapid fire, then Daring- rapid fire, then French DD line- Rapid fire AND Fast as fuck, (because 45 knots Khaba is not fast enough) then Smolens Rapid fire AND Smoke, then Yolo Emilio Fastest fast (for now!!) with smoke that covers her all the way, Bourgogne as Rapid fire BB, Thunderer as Rapid fire AND accurate as fuck BB....etc. Austin really shouldn't be a surprise. The game is getting faster literally every patch. I remember the good old days we had DRAWS as end results (which was not good) and often lasted full 20 mins. These days blowout/steamroll matches every day... The game is becoming a joke. Although... It really isn't a game, is it? It's a WG cashmachine PRESENTED as a game.
Do not forget British BBs. The first BB line ever introduced in this game with better HE than AP. Yes, Worcester, Kita, Harugumo, Smolensk, Thunderer, yes, yes. But British BBs came BEFORE those things. British BBs were the starting point of the current meta. I hate them. The only British BB I play is Warspite, because she has great AP.
The funniest thing to do in the chat is go to all chat at the beginning of a match and say something like, "Sounds good, im going to sneak up past D and chill in their backfield for a few min then ambush their CV" You get a bunch of responses on the stupid Noob but then you watch at least on CL prowl around back there looking for a DD that doenst exist.
I don't know, I dev strike those ships so easy on the NA server. They seem to always sink in the first 5 min's of a game when i see them. Maybe if WG made that a 6 min cool down on the reload buff? Great Video. I don't use that dead eye except on the Hizen. its a squishy ship. Rock on
My theory behind Wargaming's inability to make a balanced ship is purely due to the fact that they want people to buy it, then once ppl have bought it they nerf the fuckery out of anything that doesn't carry air divisions
I still think that WG should just make this game $20 to buy so they dont have to worry about suckering people into paying for crap down the line. Id happily pay $20 for this game if it was balanced and well maintained.
@@ColoradoStreaming That's some wishful thinking considering this game's supposed balance has been going downhill ever since British BBs. I still have PTSD from HE-flinging Conquerors that were immune to deletion unless you could nail them with 5 torps at once.
@@SoldierOfFate The game is past the point of no return in that regard for sure. From the start they should have made the game subscription based for like $10 a month so they can make money of players playing and keep the game balanced. The problem with Free to Play is management sees the total dev and operating costs and tells the game design team to add X ships and make them powerful enough to get Y players to pay for them to cover the costs. This means these ships will always be OP and the game will be permanently broken. Eventually the cycle continues and the company caters to the whales with tons of money and little skill and screws over all the other players. This is why I am sure subs are going to suck. WG management knows it cost them say $10,000 to develop subs and the only way to recoup that cost is to sell premium subs for $60 each which means they need 167 people to buy subs. To ensure this, they spec the subs in a way that makes them almost always win to sell them. The other problem is each sub is a one time purchase so they constantly need to come up with new ships and gimmicks to sell which complicates the balance to the point it breaks the game. This is the REAL spreadsheet for CVs...
game is so balanced, that i lost 10 games in a row with my moskva while my team always died in the first 5 minutes. after that i could tick a pole which asked me, how happy have you been with your last game, but the fuck you WG button was missing.
I rly would like to report that Grezzo guy. Calling everyone noob yet he died in the first 2 min apparently not looking at the matchups and anticipating german DDs, but being toxic af in chat. Playerbase in a nutshell.
People dont know how to handle this ship yet, its new for them. all that brindisi had to do is bow on you until MBRB runs out and then kick your ass. Plus, a DM would have done better in every situation.
Yeah Flambino commented on it later, and that's why he shot by going ham on the mouse instead of doing sequential when killing the Brindisi. If your guns reload faster than the sequential fire shoots the guns, one will not fire. That is because the sequential always fires the fist gun that is loaded. This was earlier a problem with Yamamoto Harugumo, so WG made the sequential fire faster IIRC. Now it seems that they have once again created a ship whose reload can overtake the sequential firing speed.
Grezzo used to be a lot on Flamu's Discord talking shit so we decided to have fun with him over there and staged some 1 v 1s against that guy as he was boasting he could take us all on. You already know how those 1 v 1s went, in fact I recorded them on my account lol. Grezzo has 0 knowledge about the game and he's always blamed everything other than himself. I also have some hilarious quotes of his saved from the Discord, including all the ships he thought were OP lmfao. It's actually sad to see he STILL didn't learn anything even though we explained everything to him thoroughly and clapped him in duels.
It makes me sad that every second game I see has people criticizing me and backseat gaming and calling me names like the guys in this chat. CVs or OP ships or Deadeye aren't the biggest problem this game has, it's the community.
Large caliber HE loves the Austin... yeah, if they are unspotted they do way to much damage way to quick especialy to bottom tier ships, but their guns and tubes are made of glass, last 2 I shot lost 3 offensive armament per salvo.. one of them by salvo two had permanently lost 2 rear turrets and the third was disabled.
Honstly the most OP thing about this ship is the 32mm side plating, THE ONLY HEAVY CRUISERS WITH THAT KINDA OF PLATING ARE RUSSIAN! everything else has like 27 to 30. Still perfectly balanced ship, cus if you dont take a shell on the side plateing BOOM cideled. Edit note: Atlanta hull, DD hunter, with that reload boost, Cruiser killer, only real weakness is battleships EXCEPT you if you know how to use side plating you can TAKE a hell of chunk out of them before dying. (unless its a Yamato class)
but if you angle that plate, you shows the 16mm stern/bow/deck to the enemy asking to get nuked cause lower hp than Smolensk without smoke is surely fun
The stupidest thing about this game is that WG seems to be addicted to gamey, gimmicky, stupid mechanics that have ZERO basis in reality but fill some sort of game niche in WGs mind. For example, they might start by deciding "Hey, let's give some sort of ship a burst fire machine gun mode, wouldn't that be cool !". They then create the mechanic - a boring mundane ship with very ordinary ROF until god mode is engaged, create a limiting factor (unlimited charges but 2 minute cooldown) and then create a whole new ship out of thin air (USS Austin). They release the ship in broken form, let the CCs and press account players get everyone excited, release it for cash, then wait 6 months before slowly but quietly nerfing it into the ground. Rinse and repeat, forever. As a guy who played WOT for around 3-4 years solid up until around 2016 this is the most infuriating part for me - there is ZERO basis in reality for any of this. I mean seriously, can you imagine how any of this could have been implemented in reality ? What - half a dozen rounds and bagged charges placed on hand around the turret ? A six round revolver style magazine ? A magazine feed system ? None of this makes sense and none of them would allow a 5 inch gun of the circa 1950s fire at 30-40 rounds per minute. I am long done with this game (and WOT) but again I love the graphics and sound, it's pity that they wasted such amazing work on such a shit game.
WG doesn't know how to leave well enough alone. I just uninstalled WOT and have been playing since it came out, it just stopped being fun playing any classic tank that hasn't received power creeping "balance" adjustments. I'm waiting for the same to happen with WOWs sadly. Until then I still enjoy it and really like the fact that you can compliment both sides. Also, Austin lol.
might as well give us a destroyer with the french thingy and 33k hp as well as 4 sets of 5 (2 per side) and guns with a reload to blot out the sun but you can't set fires

A way to reestablish brawling as a thing would be to give BBs a skill which reduces their main battery reload speed significantly and decreases main battery dispersion slightly 1) the more ships are within your detection range or 2) the closer you are to a warship designated as your secondary's target :0
Dead eye can stay as it enforces ships like Slava or Champagne to not yolo and rush to the front but there should be an alternative skill for battleship lines which are supposed to brawl like the soviet and german BB lines.
Flambass sandblasting HP's off every enemy ship in range: "Take note, WG! BALANS!!!"
Pee pee poo poo but yeah I agree
I can feel it... triple austin division! Well, actually it would need a smoke ship in the mix.
how do you get your hands on this mr. powercreep ship?
yesterday I drove my BB to spot the enemy cause 1st no dd at my flank, 2nd carrier too busy to help spot 3rd CA not want to push.

There was so much salt in the chat that Morton could have mined it.
What league is Flambino referring to at 10:30?
League of legends i think the most toxic kids are there
@@GoodgameGG1. Fortnite says hi.
It's nice to see SerB so happy in the thumbnail. He really seems to care...about what, I have no idea.
Money
The fact his company can do whatever it wants and people will still keep throwing money at them.
Hello, What does your invite code offer? I'm currently downloading the game. TiA.
Sometimes I want to disable chat. Then I remember it’s a useful feature
Rock on
Does anyone else take a min to check out the little villages and stuff during the slow parts of a match? Maybe its just me.
My theory behind Wargaming's inability to make a balanced ship is purely due to the fact that they want people to buy it, then once ppl have bought it they nerf the fuckery out of anything that doesn't carry air divisions
@@JohnSmith-cb6qx yea, most games nowadays are pay to win, its sad
@flambass, why don't you like warthunder's ship mode ?
I rly would like to report that Grezzo guy. Calling everyone noob yet he died in the first 2 min apparently not looking at the matchups and anticipating german DDs, but being toxic af in chat. Playerbase in a nutshell.
Calling everyone noob with his 43.82 win rate and 464 PR.
People dont know how to handle this ship yet, its new for them. all that brindisi had to do is bow on you until MBRB runs out and then kick your ass. Plus, a DM would have done better in every situation.
17:21 sixth turret is not even shooting. Does that make sense?
Hi Flambass, what happened to the submarines in WoWS?
I believe every time WG reads somewhere that their balance is broken they are like: "What you think shit is broken already? Wait anf hold my Vodka!
Next WG is going to add rocket boosters to BB's so that they can surge forward 2000 meters at 90 knots for that epic ram.
At least we got a little bit out of that booster...
*does 25k extra damage with the shells already in the air*
It makes me sad that every second game I see has people criticizing me and backseat gaming and calling me names like the guys in this chat. CVs or OP ships or Deadeye aren't the biggest problem this game has, it's the community.
Large caliber HE loves the Austin... yeah, if they are unspotted they do way to much damage way to quick especialy to bottom tier ships, but their guns and tubes are made of glass, last 2 I shot lost 3 offensive armament per salvo.. one of them by salvo two had permanently lost 2 rear turrets and the third was disabled.
2:36 "now", they never did that before xD
Wargaming should start selling French fries to go with all the salt in the community.
6:16 what is that?
I wonder how the reload booster would work with Yamamoto Isorokus second wind enabled.
You can actually get pretty close with Halsey confederate talent
Imagine Harugumo that can fire her rifles every 0.5 seconds.
Nooo you cannot make a ship that shoots faster than a machine gun...
Thaha Austin goes BRRRRRRR
The Brindisi player in the ending is in the same clan as me. 😂
(unless its a Yamato class)
but if you angle that plate, you shows the 16mm stern/bow/deck to the enemy asking to get nuked cause lower hp than Smolensk without smoke is surely fun
flambass should have an auto clicker for when he plays this ship XD
The austin is not a constant ship, but is balanced, I mean, you can do that damage with other ships in a more consistent situations...
in a year the ARP ships will actually get their super weapons working at this rate.
I think in order to BALANCE Austin it needs a 10minute long smoke a 20minute duration speed boost and a 15k Radar that last 5minutes
21:50 ah so you mean a sea worthy A-10 Warthog?
Flambass showing his inner Tasmanian Devil
Playing German BB right now with everyone just sitting in the back with deadeye is cancer
Flambass speaks fluid daka-daka👌
WG doesn't know how to leave well enough alone. I just uninstalled WOT and have been playing since it came out, it just stopped being fun playing any classic tank that hasn't received power creeping "balance" adjustments. I'm waiting for the same to happen with WOWs sadly. Until then I still enjoy it and really like the fact that you can compliment both sides. Also, Austin lol.
This video. So worth staying to the end. HAHAHA So great.
well, we got the serman now, over 20k hp and it's a dd, so no citadel to worry about
Flambass saw what happened to Flamu and be like: "hmm a new job position has opened up."
on hiatus till the italian BBs are in full or the Commander rework redone
High skill cap ship but yeah OP in the right hands
Happy Flambass at the end!
might as well give us a destroyer with the french thingy and 33k hp as well as 4 sets of 5 (2 per side) and guns with a reload to blot out the sun but you can't set fires
Wait, why does the Austin have 5 heals? 4:15
awesome Flambass!
32k hp to 0 in 37 seconds...that's 53k DPM. Balans indeed
the reason battleship play is in the back is because of submarines.... gotta remember they are trying to balance around subs...
