Man, I totally get the hype around tech gadgets like the Remarkable Pro. They look sleek and give you that temporary boost of excitement, like you just unlocked a productivity cheat code. But let’s be real, it’s just another form of procrastination. We tell ourselves this new tool will make us more productive, but after a month, it’s just another thing we get used to-classic hedonic treadmill. At the end of the day, it’s not the $600 device that’s going to do the work for us, it’s just putting in the time. Gotta resist the mental trap!
The price point is way too high, hopefully another company comes along with great quality and can do it for half the price. It's something I've actually been wanting because I do sketch ideas and models but currently what I use is something basically for kids where you can do sketches but not erase with a pen or save it. If I write on paper, I'm likely to have a tougher time keeping track of everything. Especially, if I sketch something one day, and want to make changes, I need a new sheet of paper. I have to make the changes then transcribe everything I still want to keep from the original.
I mean if you're constantly taking notes with the traditional pen and paper anyways, I think this is actually quite useful and much more convenient. I hate using physical pen and paper and always do everything digitally if I can, but some stuff is just better with a pen. Although I'm not paying $1000 for this gadget, it's ridiculous. Maybe like $300
Bought the Paper Pro this morning. I’ve been using the RM2 every day for three years. I love it! I used paper journals before. The switch to remarkable was a good experience. The game changer for me with the Paper Pro is the front light. My older eyes need the extra light. This feature alone made the upgrade worth it.
@@ff20e03bbc Those of us who've had a reMarkable since way back got the sync subscription thing for free when they introduced the monthly fee. It's neat but I'd survive without it. I've just orderd this as a first time user. I was very close to buying the remarkable 2 after months of reseach but didn't go for it as it fell behind the market and competition in terms of specs however the community for the remarkable sounds solid and I look forward to trying out all the templates. Very glad I held on a few more days!
The reMarkable is not for anyone who loves the distraction of modern apps. But for those who prefer completely distraction-free writing, it's a bloody beast of a productivity tool. Using the reMarkable 2 currently. Tempted to order the reMarkable Pro - as my pet peeve to date has been the lack of direct colour writing. It's a cool product and guess it was only time they upgraded to soemething like this. Sure a worthy upgrade.
I use the ipad air with goodnotes as my primary way to write notes, lectures, and open pdfs, books, or articles online and save them for annotation, and that’s about all I use it for. Do you think the remarkable pro would be a better substitute for these tasks?
Yeah, Remarkable company doesn't make too good of decisions, sometimes. The specs for the Remarkable 2 should have been better. I bought it and was unimpressed, sadly. I returned it over Christmas 2023, because I wanted to treat myself. But, when I was reading PDF's, the page turning was so slow. Maybe, I didn't set it up right, don't know.
@@PoeLemic Page turns are slow if the pdf size is big. It also takes long to render the pages. But main thing that put me away was the lack of front light in RM2. There were many occasions where I wanted to read at night but if I have to keep my lights on.. that's why I barely use it now. During the day I don't get much time. The paper pro has good enough reason as it has front light and color is an added bonus but the price alone is a heavy deterrent. The complete package is around $1K 💀
@@PoeLemic That is the price to pay for e-ink. Unlike led displays, here you need to physically move particles up and down. It has exactly the same feeling as all the other e ink displays. I bought this one because I love my RM 2, and because there is a 100 return policy, apparently, so if I don't like it, I will return it. As for your concern, they say that they have almost halved the latency, so maybe pdfs are read faster. I don't know, it will arrive in 2 weeks, apparently.
I know a RM2 owner and we both ordered a paper pro - he wants both, so no trade-in needed but we understand the missing trade-in. And I waited for a RM with colours, so I‘ll be a new user. Kindle is not so important to me.
Man, you are FAST! You're killing it! I started watching the launch video, went to your Discord to see what you thought, and lo and behold, you've already got a video out! I can't say I'm not tempted by the rPP, but they didn't address the one thing I really missed from my r2, which is automatic sync to Dropbox/Google Drive. Kindle support (even via app) would have been nice too. I think I'll skip this one and stick to my Boox Air Note 3C for now.
My main reason for not buying a RM2 was the subscription, but now all the features are free, and the unlimited cloud storage is super cheap. I might honestly just get a used RM2 for now, then save up for the RM Paper Pro later on.
I preordered my ReMarkable 2 when it started out with a lot of bugs, some of which rendered the device almost unusable. However ReMarkable refined the RM2 into a nice writing device. What I missed was a screen light since I use my devices in relatively poor lighting. A book light worked for reading, but was not practical for writing as my hand would make terrible shadows. I gradually migrated to a Kindle Scribe which is a more basic writing device but ticked off all the boxes I needed. The Kindle screen is beautifully lit and higher in resolution than the RM2. I really loved how the RM2 worked but gradually migrated away because of its screen. The Kindle also has folders, but no PDFs or anything besides written documents, written on basic templates can be put in folders. I use a lot of color charts in my work which steers me my Mac or iPad. I am excited about this new ReMarkable device for its promise to solve all my deficiencies with writing devices in one swoop. I hear it can only write in 9 colors, but display a full spectrum of colors for ePubs and PDF files. Thats good enough for me.
Just ordered the Pro with accessories - $900. The new e-ink writing devices have always been a luxury had at a high cost when compared to tablets such as the iPad. The comparison to writing on paper is funny. Why not just buy a pad of paper and a pen or pencil and scan what you want to keep? I keep buying this stuff because I am a bit unbalanced to tell you the truth. That said, the Remarkable people listened to their customers. The new Pro has added many of the most requested features, including a front lighting system. So, I am on board for another round. If you are a first time user, I would go for the Pro and not the RM2 unless you can find a great deal on a used one to see if you like it. There is nothing more expensive than duplicating what you have in hand. That is what I do and you do not want to copy that. If you are a note taker for either business or personal use, an E-ink note taker helps get the work done and maintains a certain amount of order in your life. I may still have to search for a note, but at least I do not lose them, as I did with notes written on scraps of paper. Of course, if you already own an all purpose tablet, such as an iPad, you may not need one of these at all. Just buy an Apple Pencil and use the included Apple Note system. By the way, if you are an artist, I can’t help you as I cannot draw worth a lick.
I am most definitely excited about the color aspect but the price is a little steep. So I think my RM2 and Kindle will be my go to combination. No, matter what I know that who ever buys from Remarkable will have exceptional quality for the price!!!!
I ordered remarkable 2 last week, and it's arriving this week, but they just released paper pro. If i knew, i would have waited before i purchased. I already ordered the paper pro and plan to return remarkable 2
I’m in the same boat, I ordered the RM2 last Friday…haven’t even received it yet. How’s the delivery window for the paper pro? I need it by sep 16, don’t know what to do
@Sergiochaps on the website, it says limited supply, hence why i just purchased paper pro before RM2 even came. For the delivery process, it says 2-12 business days because of the current demand.
I knew they would pull this...lol! So glad I returned the RM2. I tried it and really liked it, but felt that it was too old and slow for the price point. Then suddenly a "sale" for back to school. I will say that the RM2 was the perfect size....wish they could have kept that design with the internals of the Pro.
Hey, thanks first of all for the absolutely great video of yours! I would love to get a glimpse on the visibility and sharpness of the Remarkable Paper Pro when it comes to *sheet music* . Ok, some context: I am a choir singer and have been thinking about the switch to digital paper (iPad? Remarkable?) for quite a while now and what I have noticed during my research: Nobody on RUclips is talking about this use case for this new and bigger Remarkable, but it's perfect in my view for musicians, because the bigger screen size brings it closer to A4 paper dimensions, also the e-ink screen is not as hard on the eyes and more readable in almost every lighting condition. You can take notes in the sheet and also don't need to worry about distraction through other (social media) apps as well as a short battery life as on the iPad. The only dealbreaker is: Are 229 ppi sharp enough for displaying notes accurately enough so that it is readable in the end? If you would test it out in a separate video, you could maybe partner up with some musician RUclipsr, that maybe already uses an iPad or something tablet-like. Does that sound like a RUclips niche that would be covered by you first? I would love to have at least some camera close-ups of the notes on the e-ink display combined with your opinion on readability :) That would be absolutely fantastic! Have a great day and thanks in advance :)
No thanks.....in my currency, after adding the stylus and cover, it was over $1,200. I'll stick with my iPad Air which is similar in price, but I can do a lot more with it, I have access to Kindle and Kobo books, I have a full rainbow of colors, and, most importantly, I don't need to pay for a subscription in perpetuity after paying an arm, a leg and my first born for the device itself.
It looks an amazing premium device...but a year ago went for the boox colour, simply because what i wanted was the additional ability to have email accounts, google drive account, and those abilities to be able to send something either via email or to drive and pick it up there has been very helpful! For instance, i utilise a pdf digital planner, and once a month just can upload a copy to the drive account, and then on my phone, laptop or other tablet i can open it and look at it there, including any of the journals and notes you make are updated there so its a very different use case, but this remarkable looks good! Having colour e ink is underrated...its important to be able to write in different colours! So nice that its come to Remarkable. However again for me this profile is too big for me to carry around...its that sweet spot between good writing screen real estate vs moving around with it. But nice product.
I have been a satisfied user of the RM2 for years. But I find it not acceptable that encrypting documents should only be available on the Pro and not as a software update on the RM2. Without a proper trade in program I will probably switch, not because I think the technology is bad, but because as a customer feeling used as a cash cow
Great video. Can I ask if you have found viewing academic papers and pdfs more manageable on the new device? I liked the look of the RM2 but it looks horribly clunky to view journals
Key thing for me will be whether existing third party software to allow custom templates will still work. Remarkable’s insane refusal to allow this is a huge barrier to upgrade.
Glad to finally see the remarkable company back in the thick of things. Once again, another very niche product, but wow they really nailed it. I am sure that this will have a big impact on their current product base and maybe even open this space for more users who will be attracted by the upgraded specs. Not a device for me, but I can see it working in hundreds of different use cases. Thanks for another great video Brandon! Can’t wait for the hands on review.
I think they can make this so you can play games like pac-man, super-mario, ninja gaiden, and even make animation using something like flipaclip or better. This could be the future of Tablets. It is so much better for the eyes.
Ordered the Paper Pro this morning, I have an IPad Pro and a pen but writing is never as comfortable and the numerous distractions on it is real! Hoping the Paper Pro will change this from what I’ve come to see the RM and RM2 has done for people. This isn’t a tablet for the regular consumer but more so for strict productivity.
Very tempted as I always wanted colour and a backlight. Only thing holding me back is I am a heavy template user for my journalling and planning routines so until these are ready not able to make the switch
I have a Boox Note Air 3 C, and it's mainly sat on a shelf. I bought it hoping it would transform a lot of my reading and writing workflow, and I've just never really jived with it. Think I'm going to swap to this and see if it's a better fit for me.
I wish it had access to one app: Kindle (like the Supernote) & possibly their own native ToDo List & Calendars. Other than that, it looks like a nice device. & not listed, but I assume the new device will have the latest USB C port unlike the regular Remarkable that just had the original slow charging USB C port.
For those who don't like flashy colors, this is a good product that adds color on the ink screen technology. The large size allows you to read more content, but it is not so convenient to carry. It would be better if there is a folding screen.
So far, I am very happy with the RMP. Regarding eBooks on Kindle, if you own a kindle and have a valid serial number, you can remove the DRM and put your entire kindle library on your Remarkable Paper Pro with Calibre software and DeDRM plug ins. Reading comics is nice, and the screen refresh is not as jarring as I thought it would be. Haven't messed around with the colors yet, but the syncing seems to work a lot better than my experience with the RM2.
@@BrandonKBoswellthe other colored eink tablets costs the same and i have to say the remarkable was always better then the other products. So they can sell IT better then the remarkable 2 becouse of trust in their quality and they fixes what many People want. Light and colour.
@@BrandonKBoswell it’s crazy expensive and only a few (me included) will be able to kind of justify it. Hopefully they will sell out fast and maybe the price can fall some…
The bigger size is a no go for me. Prior to having an e-ink tablet I had wanted a bigger size, but after having the remarkable 2 I do now think smaller is better (like supernote nomad) for the greater portability and if using on the go with laptop in tow. Canvas color does seem cool and more vibrant than Kaleido
I would love to have a program like yours that I can set tasks (and notifications, I assume it has alarms or notifications) on a product like the reMarkable for doing sales. I hate taking my phone out in front of a customer to set a reminder to do something for them because it looks and feels very impersonal where as busting out a notepad and righting it down just feels more focused on the customer for some reason so I thought the reMarkable or a similar product would be perfect but turns out none of them had a software where I could hand write a note on a page and then just long press on it to set a reminder or have it send me a email at a certain time which would be perfect. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only person that would love to be able to use the devices in this way as it combines the convenience and personal touch of a notepad with the obvious advantages of a digital planer on your phone.
I work as a therapist and really trying to decide what to do as I go through a bunch of notebooks. Had a rocket book, but just came across this. I already have an ipad but writing on it is not the same even with the paperlike protector
I got the Kindle Scribe when it launched and loved it but wanted more template options, so I just bought the Remarkable 2 and quickly realized I missed the backlight. The remarkable 2 did feel more sluggish compared to the scribe too. I'm still within the 100 days, so I'm returning the Remarkable 2 and just ordered the Paper Pro. I'm so excited about the color and backlight! Also the keyboard felt too small on the 2 so I'm excited for a bigger keyboard too
As wonderful and attractive as the new Paper Pro is, THE #1 reason to choose Supernote over the Remarkable is the ability of the former to store important files on an OTG thumb drive via the USB-C port! Many people work with highly confidential files, and quite often companies and agencies will simply NOT allow files to be uploaded into cloud servers under threat of employment termination. The Supernote allows you to stay completely offline and to save your files securely onto the OTG thumb drive. It doesn't get any more convenient than that.
Thank you, Brandon. Have you done a video on how to input ebooks on the remarkable? I’m a laggard and fully invested in paper books but want to have a single source for books and notes. Do you have best practices on how to avoid the DRM with Kindle? Should I start buying ebooks through Barnes & Nobel?
I love my R2 and would love color but I’m going to wait until some after market products are available. I also really wish they would allow DRM ebooks to be read.
When you are travelling and have limited hand luggage weight IE 7.5kg or maybe 10kg - an iPad type device is good for media but as you have concluded a laptop is also needed for work. Don't you think something like the Asus or surface pro is the one best device - pull the keyboard off for a tablet experience but you can code and do the full ow tasks too all in one device. Would you me happy just taking your Macbook air and no tablet / iPad?
I have such a basic workflow question that I can’t seem to find an answer. I want to use the device to take notes, convert to text, and use my computer to clean up/add more text, etc, and save it to Word. Is that possible? THANK YOU
I don't know how I feel about the pro, 99% of it I love, but there are just some features that I'm REALLY not happy with! The RM2 is really the largest size I want to carry around with me when I'm away from home, but I could still manage with the pro if I had to. I REALLY HATE how the pen is rechargeable (I've got enough devices with battery levels I need to keep track of!) and the fact that it can only be charged by the pro is deeply concerning if that connection gets damaged somehow! I'm also not a fan of how the colour flashes every time you use it. I'd mostly be using black text (unless reading a graphic novel), but I'm neurodivergent and the very distracting flashing is not only an issue for my concentration, but could add to me getting sensory overload! Also one reviewer said that it can leave a bit of a yellow ghosting affect when you erase something before it refreshes the page (which I'm okay with, with the RM2, but I think the grey wouldn't stand out as much). But then again I have really been wanting colour with my RM2, because I'm finding the highlighters on it just don't look different enough to everything else I'm doing, to draw my eye to important stuff! I think I'm going to see what the new Supernote is like, and then make a decision. I'm not as happy with all of this as I was hoping to be, but I'm also not quite unhappy enough to dismiss it entirely.
I like the new remarkable but as a student I dont really have then budget or the need for something like this and the regular remarkable satisfies my needs perfectly
Can someone help? I use the ipad air with goodnotes as my primary way to write notes, lectures, and open pdfs, books, or articles online and save them for annotation, and that’s about all I use it for. Do you think the remarkable pro would be a better substitute for these tasks?
I actually went ahead and purchased this unit, no typefolio. The things that appeal to me are that it's color, has a backlight, and that there is encryption. I don't want an iPad. I basically only want a suped-up notepad. I don't want Kindle on it... I want to use it for work. This sounds ideal for my use case. Yes, the cost was something I took into serious consideration. But, I expect this to be quality hardware for long-term use. I'll return it in a flash if its poor quality and the new pen tech turns out an issue for me... like the real possibility of misplacing or losing the only pen that works on the tablet. That flap had better be good!
I'm pleased about this new upgrade and immediately ordered the product. I would have liked to see a possibility of trading in the old device/accessories, but now my husband will have a new toy. I love that the new one is bigger and is LIT! I have to give a thumbs up to the software developer team, who are also listening to our requests for more flexibility on the tool bar. Suggestion for next pen: Double tapping on the body of the pen to change the setting, like on an Apple Pencil.
Same! Not in a rush because I have the rM2 and Supernote. Funny since the announcement my Supernote has been acting up and freezing 🥶. I have always loved my rM2 since getting it back in 2020 during pre-order. I thought I would use the functionality of the SN more but have found I really don’t and gravitate back no matter how hard I try, enjoy the pens 🖊️ of SN back to my reMarkable. It just works so well for me and outside of hyperlinks 🔗 I’m ok with my rM2. I don’t really use that function or the to-do list on SN like I thought I would.
Do you know by any chance if separate marker tips will be on sale later? or am I going to buy a new pen every time I run out of replacement tips? In the meantime, I am looking forward to your unboxing and first impression video!
I was holding my purchase for weeks, doing research watching reviews. Finally I decided for the RM2 and ordered it last Friday…then 4 days later they release the paper pro…what a bummer. For a first time user I don’t know what to do, like you mentioned in the video, $629 might be too much for a first time user but at the same time I feel I bought a device that fall behind now…I haven’t even received it yet…
but has not mentioned and addressed the disadvantage of this product with only 229 PPI with taking the panel of E Ink Gallery 3 (300 ppi), I am confused, Perhaps the original PPI of the native panel is two slow.
There is a huge clientele ready to spend on RM if they add Kindle. I went from the earlier version RM to Kindle Scribe as I don’t want to carry two devices with me, even tho the RM user experience is better for writing.
Something tells me in a year or 2, they publish remarkable 3. It's remarkable pro with basic specks of remarkable 2, but with color screen, and remarkable 2 price.
How does it compare to the FEEL-WRITE-2 experience of writing it on on STACK OF THICK stack of notepad? WHICH ACTUALLY FOR ME IS THE CLOSEST PAPER FEEL I EXPERIENCED ON A DIGITAL TABLET.. no wacom? A big downer for me ? And dampening should be on th the screen- LIKE ON REAL PAPER OF NOTEBOOK THICK STACK YOUR TAKE PLEASE?
Excellent tech, and love they’re bringing it in color now! BUT too pricey. At this price bracket, it’s the iPad Pro for me. PLEASE bring down the price!
Larger screen without making the device noticeably bigger + colour without sacrificing the screen whiteness + larger storage + reading light = I'm buying it. I was literally looking at the Boox Air 3C and Go 10.3, after I sold my Remarkable 2, when this popped up in my inbox. A sign, I wonder?!
This seems to be made for me, I love my remarkable 2 but I had 3 pet peeves: No backlight, no color and a tablet a tad too small... they've addressed just that
Great video, as always. That CPU bump is the biggest deal to me. The dual core in the RM2 is ancient. It's Cortex A9, which is 15 year old tech at this point (think first gen smartphone-era). Now it's using 2x the core count at nearly double the speed an using Cortex A53 cores. This CPU should be 8-10x more powerful than RM. This should allow for things like auto-shape creation that I've been dying for in the RM2, but they haven't implemented simply because there's not enough CPU power for that.
I ordered a rm2 2weeks ago but the changes are not worthy for 200$ more expensive one. Principal activity of the device is taking notes and you can still highlights things in color. Selective lightning , pdf in color and lower marker latency (20ms are not horrible tbh) are good though but not worth the price for this upgrade
Hello Brandon, This is my first time on your channel. I have been a big supporter of reM2 from the get-go. Having used it throughout my master's program, not only did I fall in love with it, but I convinced 3 members of my cohort to get it. I would be on board with getting the Pro, given how they move forward regarding the current client. Do you know anything about the deal they would be offering for us? Thank you in advance.
Will this work with Android apps like Mobile Sheets Pro for sheet music? Musicians would be interested in that. It doesn't have Bluetooth for page turns but maybe it would work with pedals using the USB port.
Thanks, so much! Another quick Q: I’ve love to offer this to my writing clients (I’m a coach!) but how easy is it to have them swap their credit card number and attach it to their connect account? If my card is connected to the purchase, I woundn’t want my card used for Connect.
I wish they'd just add the colored ink and adjustable lighting to the current version in a softer update. Feels like that should be possible. I just bought the remarkable 2 this year, and the two features I've felt like its missing are color and the ability to work under any lighting. So I'm just a bit frustrated by the timing i guess because im absolutely not getting a new remarkable right noe
I like that it’s got better latency. Other than that I just really want some kind of screenwriting software integration. If they put final draft in it I’m buying it instantly with that type folio case. Besides that I liked the look of it previously…
Wow, I expected a lot more given all the hype in the comments. It’s honestly not that impressive. The pen technology feels like a step backward, especially since it needs a battery, and the screen seems like it's still experimental. Honestly, the best thing about Remarkable is the marketing...I'm keeping my Boox Note Air 3c.
I just bought my remarkable 2 a month ago and now this comes out :/ I'm not sure about upgrading to the pro and i think the remarkable 2 is the better option for me. The thing im curious about is, if the remarkable 2 will be cheaper now, can i return mine and just buy another one at this new reduced price (or just ask them for the price difference back)
I am so on the fence. On the one hand, I do use my RM2 every single day, every meeting, and I use for home and school as well. I would be lost without it. However, I have only had it for a year and I am trying to justify the price increase (for myself, not overall). If the Pro had been available when I was in the market originally, that is what I would have purchased.
Man, I totally get the hype around tech gadgets like the Remarkable Pro. They look sleek and give you that temporary boost of excitement, like you just unlocked a productivity cheat code.
Can finally stop switching between by my Remarkable and iPad! Also great to see something new that doesn't have AI slapped onto the name.
Thats good enough for me.
so how is it ?
Just ordered one, so excited! I've been using the remarkable 2 for 3 years.
Am curious to see if the next iPad airs will have the “textured” screen to give it a closer feel to writing on paper
You think like I do. I am very spendy when it comes to novelty
You shouldn’t have any issues within the 100 day return window.
I would expect we get a proper rM3 next year
Hey, thanks first of all for the absolutely great video of yours!
I purchased the remarkable 2 last week. I was getting ready to send it back as the screen is too dark. I got the email today for this one.
I’m glad you’re within the 100 day window!
I have been a satisfied user of the RM2 for years. But I find it not acceptable that encrypting documents should only be available on the Pro and not as a software update on the RM2. Without a proper trade in program I will probably switch, not because I think the technology is bad, but because as a customer feeling used as a cash cow
🤞that this can come as a software update.
@@BrandonKBoswell I hope so, either. Noted!
Great video. Can I ask if you have found viewing academic papers and pdfs more manageable on the new device? I liked the look of the RM2 but it looks horribly clunky to view journals
The additional size would be helpful.
At $625 for the set, I'll stick with getting leather bound diaries for the next 10 years and just printing notes etc, thanks.
I’m diagnosed with ADHD and my therapist recommended this to help keep me organized, it has one job and minimum distractions 🫣😬
This is pure speculation, but my guess is a template store is coming at some point in the future
Calendar and does it sync to an app where you can actually see your writing?
I have a Boox Note Air 3 C, and it's mainly sat on a shelf. I bought it hoping it would transform a lot of my reading and writing workflow, and I've just never really jived with it. Think I'm going to swap to this and see if it's a better fit for me.
I am contemplating jumping straight to Paper Pro😬
I wish it had access to one app: Kindle (like the Supernote) & possibly their own native ToDo List & Calendars. Other than that, it looks like a nice device.
& not listed, but I assume the new device will have the latest USB C port unlike the regular Remarkable that just had the original slow charging USB C port.
For those who don't like flashy colors, this is a good product that adds color on the ink screen technology. The large size allows you to read more content, but it is not so convenient to carry. It would be better if there is a folding screen.
I just scooped one up. My remarkable 2 has weathered enough writing sessions at the bar, time to retire the old lass and start a new chapter
I bought one while the Promo video was running… very expensive with all the accessories- very. But I’m in. 🤦
For existing reMarkable users I think it’s a much easier sell, but I worry about the price point for completely new users
I think the physical size of the device is hardly bigger than the Remarkable 2. The actual screen definitely is, which is a huge plus.
Directly bought one during the show ❤
I work as a therapist and really trying to decide what to do as I go through a bunch of notebooks. Had a rocket book, but just came across this. I already have an ipad but writing on it is not the same even with the paperlike protector
I have two therapists in my family that now both use the reMarkable 2 and love it.
Love it! Glad they got that early prototype out to you. 🙂
💯
What do you think about it being 230 ppi?
I don't have a Remarkable device yet and am considering of buying one. Does it allow for searching keywords to notes you have written before?
Is it ideal for book reading too or is it simply for note taking ?
Thank you
If you have ebooks/pdfs it works well.
I can’t wait for this release. The only thing I’m worried about is if they offer more sharing options.
The backlight and colour, plus the other improvements, attract my interest. I have a Kindle Scribe. Hmm...should I switch?
I just placed my order. Upgrading from my RM2. Hope I don't regret this.
If you don’t love it, return it within 100 days
Es la misma pantalla o tiene más color que la boox tab ultra c pro ?
I love my R2 and would love color but I’m going to wait until some after market products are available. I also really wish they would allow DRM ebooks to be read.
When you are travelling and have limited hand luggage weight IE 7.5kg or maybe 10kg - an iPad type device is good for media but as you have concluded a laptop is also needed for work. Don't you think something like the Asus or surface pro is the one best device - pull the keyboard off for a tablet experience but you can code and do the full ow tasks too all in one device. Would you me happy just taking your Macbook air and no tablet / iPad?
I have the RM1. Just ordered the paper pro! I'm super excited.
Me too. I’m excited to hear what you think
Improved a lot: the side, highlight, colors, the pen. Just ordered 👍
I have such a basic workflow question that I can’t seem to find an answer. I want to use the device to take notes, convert to text, and use my computer to clean up/add more text, etc, and save it to Word. Is that possible? THANK YOU
Yes with a subscription
The early prototype was fantastic!
❤️
Very nice video. Thank you :)
This is a huge e ink announcement, you and KITT should get together for a remarkable pro chat
Would definitely order one.. using RM2 for around 2 yrs now
As soon as I can, I'm getting it! I love my remarkable 2 and can not wait to put my hands on the remarkable pro! 🤩 ❤❤❤
@@telockett9850 Me three!!!
Do you know by any chance if separate marker tips will be on sale later? or am I going to buy a new pen every time I run out of replacement tips? In the meantime, I am looking forward to your unboxing and first impression video!
They do sell replacement tips
Is there any exchage policy for rmk2 users
Does the new pen use USI protocol? or Wacom AES?
I was holding my purchase for weeks, doing research watching reviews. Finally I decided for the RM2 and ordered it last Friday…then 4 days later they release the paper pro…what a bummer.
For a first time user I don’t know what to do, like you mentioned in the video, $629 might be too much for a first time user but at the same time I feel I bought a device that fall behind now…I haven’t even received it yet…
Ironically, I’d be all in with the pro if it were *smaller*. Portability is a huge factor for me.
I wish they would make a smaller version as well
rM3
but has not mentioned and addressed the disadvantage of this product with only 229 PPI with taking the panel of E Ink Gallery 3 (300 ppi), I am confused, Perhaps the original PPI of the native panel is two slow.
My guess is reMarkable 3 will be monochrome.
06:54 Silly question maybe, does the magnetic strap also come with type folio or only with Folio?
Both
Did you get your hands on one yet? I really want to buy this and will be waiting for your review 😊
Supposedly it is on the way!
Excellent tech, and love they’re bringing it in color now! BUT too pricey. At this price bracket, it’s the iPad Pro for me. PLEASE bring down the price!
Jesus christ I forgot how expensive remarkable products are. I already have a remarkable 2, I'll stick with that for the next few years.
Would be nice if you could review the daylight computer, no color yet, but 60fps screen
I am in batch 1 of the orders, but it is delayed until October, which isn't far off now.

This seems to be made for me, I love my remarkable 2 but I had 3 pet peeves: No backlight, no color and a tablet a tad too small... they've addressed just that
Really great idea making a sketch of it. Never saw that done in a review 🎉 nice video
I’m a sucker for new tech and itching to upgrade for the colours and extra storage… eeeep!! 💸
Sorry to put that on you
Awesome! Thanks for the info! Interesting changes.
Hello Brandon,
This is my first time on your channel.
It does not run Android buddy.
@@minhtrovert OK. Then for me it's useless.
The Boox devices will be more likely to support USB accessories
Can I use my existing connect cloud account if I upgrade? I’m grandfathered in and don’t pay for Connect. Wonder if I lose that benefit by upgrading.
I would expect that you only need one connect membership per person, that’s how it works for me with two reMarkables
@@BrandonKBoswellawesome! Thanks!!
Thanks, so much!
Another quick Q:
I’ve love to offer this to my writing clients (I’m a coach!) but how easy is it to have them swap their credit card number and attach it to their connect account? If my card is connected to the purchase, I woundn’t want my card used for Connect.
Really solid, fast review. Good effort.
I don’t think software updates can add color ink to it
LOL
Pen and paper will stay forever.
I like that it’s got better latency. Other than that I just really want some kind of screenwriting software integration. If they put final draft in it I’m buying it instantly with that type folio case. Besides that I liked the look of it previously…
I ordered during the Video reveal. (Upgrading from RM2). It says “Limited Supply.” How long do you think it will take for delivery?
Shows as 2-12 days here in the US
Wow, I expected a lot more given all the hype in the comments. It’s honestly not that impressive. The pen technology feels like a step backward, especially since it needs a battery, and the screen seems like it's still experimental. Honestly, the best thing about Remarkable is the marketing...I'm keeping my Boox Note Air 3c.
Yay, you’re back! 🎉❤
❤️. It’s been too long. More content coming soon.
So there is nothing about making photos an easy attach to the created files & PDF?
If that is core to your workflow I think you will be happier with a Boox device
I just bought my remarkable 2 a month ago and now this comes out :/ I'm not sure about upgrading to the pro and i think the remarkable 2 is the better option for me. The thing im curious about is, if the remarkable 2 will be cheaper now, can i return mine and just buy another one at this new reduced price (or just ask them for the price difference back)
P.S : I am still in the 100 days that remarkable offers as the "tryout period" , so i can still return it i guess.
If you are in the tryout period you can use that. My understanding is the price only dropped $20.
@@BrandonKBoswell Ok thanks!
Thank you
You're welcome
I am so on the fence. On the one hand, I do use my RM2 every single day, every meeting, and I use for home and school as well. I would be lost without it. However, I have only had it for a year and I am trying to justify the price increase (for myself, not overall). If the Pro had been available when I was in the market originally, that is what I would have purchased.
