"You're gonna have to pay the bill because....you have my wallet." PRICELESS!! I loved this.
The need for the realization that there Are more Julio's in our world has never been stronger. "Social Media" and fear driven news makes us forget.
"Well you know" lol
Thanks for having a beautiful heart Julio
police in the city should learn from this. instead to incarcerating young minds who are living as diaz said in a complicated city, they should have more rehabilitation programs.
Muhammad Hasan
Muhammad Hasan right
there are officers that do this... just not enough
Thiere are plenty of good cops that on thiere own accord invest theire own time to teach theam selfs how to have a gentel approach. Then thiere are the real rotten appels that see the gun and the badge as means of excerting power. We cant do much about these guys execept for making it harder for theam to join the force or make sure they are accountabel for thiere actions.
What we really do need is the ones that are in the middel grounds, the ones that dont take iniative to go beyoned the book but dont make things personal or feel they need to abuse thiere power. They clock in they follow thiere traning and instructions and then they clock out. No matter the job we will always have the pepole who simply wanna do thiere job. We need to change the rules and ledership so these pepole more resemble the guys that go beyoned rather then the rotten appels
Well, I don't see how a specific cop could make more rehabilitation programs, If a cop see's someone mugging someone, it's their job to arrest them.
How I wish I could be as chill as Julio! My anxiety doesn't help either haha. This was inspiring though.

this made me smile. It was soo sweet!!
Whether this is a true story or not, this made me cry and made my heart a little bit warmer, thank you 😊
It’s a true story - Storycorps put it out years ago and eventually, Upworthy grabbed it up.
As it goes.
Beautiful story, thank you.
Fortunate that it happened that way. It doesn't always. Most times there's no time for any interaction. Somebody Up There must have been directing the event, is all I can imagine.
beautiful

I am brasilian uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuu
Good on this guy for being so caring, but it was a big risk for him to take. I don't believe it is wise to gamble your well-being or even your life like that. he got lucky he wasnt approached by someone more willing to do harm to him.
Come by cuz I've been reading the Humankind book, truly an inspiring story!
Yeah... you got robbed then mentored the criminal. This story isn't bullshit or anything.
I want to believe this story so bad but I mean cmon bruh...
I know a friend of a friend who actually did something similar
Beautiful. When our response to threat can be be love miracles can happen.
Being friendly has long term benefits.
Replying to anger with love, beautiful.
I've heard of this story somewhere in Language arts
Mike
Mike I've read that too. I like this story better though
I don't like this story...I LOVE it.
My heart melted.
You're a better person than me. Great story.
Luke 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
This man lived Luke chapter 6.

What's the ending song?
Well done, Julio!
Great story. There ARE fantastic people in the world who love and show care for one another, tons of them I'm sure. The problem that we are facing right now with the country, is that these people are not getting the spotlight that they deserve.

What an ANGEL.....people should make the world a better place for having been here......even if you only smile at someone who seems down.....it takes so little to make such a difference....and it has a domino effect! XOX :)
That's a really nice thing to do... With your own money. This hashtag seems to be about politics, so we need to remember that politics doesn't just spend your money, it spends other people's money too. You gotta respect that.
English class sucks

love this story. so many times well-thought-out words infused with sincerity and understanding can change people one at a time, which is how we change the world. thank you julio.
I think they've uploaded this before but I don't mind I love hearing this story over and over again :D
it's nice to hear something decent for once we need it badly.

You pay the price when you're nice!
Is this even real? LMAO

"Teenager"
Amazing
its a good story, good to see a end where things work out..... but sorry, if some one threatens my life, they are gonna die then and there, im not risking my life for some one violent, im gonna defend myself, no exception........ and i wouldnt feel bad about it the slightest,.... they willingly and voluntarily chose to die when they chose to endanger my life...if they wanted to live, they should have lived in peace.....live in peace, or die... its that simple.
It's almost like you didn't watch the video. You're blatantly admitting to being heartless and cruel.
haha bunch of crap...
"they willingly and voluntarily chose to die when they chose to endanger my life"
hahaha
are bees cruel for stinging some one who kicks their hive? or did the person ask for it by threatening them?.......... actions have consequences,.... you cant blame me for the bad choice of others.....my choice is always going to be to stay safe, you can bet your life on it, but i woudlnt recommend it.
PARADOXICLES Wow dude, you're so cool and so edgy. Can't wait to see you in action!
Also, comparing people with actual human problems to bees is doing the situation a huge injustice. People don't turn bad for the sake of turning bad, they are placed in bad situations, and make bad decisions. You speaking so insensitively and so tryhard is just embarrassing.
Here's the thing my man: the characteristics you portray here - characteristics of ruthlessness, of mindless reaction, of unquestionable violence - are the EXACT same qualities engendered by the "other." If you truly are a person who desires to "live in peace," I suggest you examine your own life.
Think about it. If you lived in a world populated with only copies of yourself, you would be running around killing yourself over and over "no exception.... not feeling bad about it in the slightest," just because of some overreaction to a bad circumstance.
Either way - I wish you the best.
