They really are a new air, all the members are incredibly talented, the simple fact that this sypher is a combination of 3 languages is proof of it.
quick rundown:
XG - Global Girl group under XGALX. 7 japanese members, promoting in S.Korea. all their official release songs out so far are 100% English.
Tippy Toes - debut
Mascara - 1st comeback
Shooting Star - 2nd comeback
Left RIght - b-side

Not K-pop, these girls are all Japanese or Japanese mix. They describe themselves as a global R&B/Hip-hop group, as all their official releases are in English. For this Xypher tho, they're rapping in English, Japanese, and Korean!

The latest full group releases are Shooting Star and Left Right. Both are legit bangers! Absolute 🔥🔥🔥
I wasn't a big fan of their first two singles, but I really like the turn towards 90's R&B of Shooting Star, and especially Left Right. Plus the choreographies are so good (these girls can dance!!!). Chisa and Juria are really good vocalists, and Jurin is basically superb at everything. Rapping, dancing, singing. She can do it all (on top of also being a competitive snowboarder).
They said in one of their interviews that the hip hop + throwback R&B sound is their identity, which is exactly what I wanted to hear. The sound from Shooting Star and Left Right is so goddamn good, I need mooooooore.

The samples are all pretty famous Rap beats from JID, Dreamville, Ty Dolla $ign, and Rosalia. They absolutely murdered these beats.

They are so in trend and popular. And their regular songs are all in English. In my humble opinion best female K-pop group (no not rookie group but group) right now. Vocals and choreo more than on point and of course their rap has more bars than any K-POP female group out there or even certain kpop male rappers or the mumbo jumbo American male rappers of nowadays . In this cypher they rap in Japanese, Corean and English, switching with an incredible ease with such a flow and even double meaning in all the languages. Also they all have swag to die for and not one bad singer. Check "shooting stars" , "left right" those are the songs that really put them on the map. They only have 4 songs though and one cypher. Personally I think their 1st song and looks was to introduce them to the korean scene and was your tipycal K-POP song since they are japanese (bad song and too Kpop formated and lack of originality). The second was more creative specially the choreo but was still not there. Thank god they've decided to show who they really are after that. Like I say the best.

Other girl groups "rap" or "assign someone "to rap" XG spits 🔥 like some true G's. XG is made is made up of 4 legit rappers & 3 elite vocalists and all 7 of them having elite dance crew skills. Their cypher has reached like legendary status on social media. I'm old skool & I absolutely love XG. There is no one else out there like them. Their combination of ultra level talent, fire charisma, swag and aura is just next level. I've seen 100s of groups come and go over the decades and XG is just different.
You really should check out their newest mv's Shooting Star and Left Right are both 10/10 each could be SOTY. Left Right is a heavy late 90s/early 2000s old skool R&B jam its currently #35 on the U.S. Pop chart. Some of XG's biggest influences are TLC, Aaliyah, Lauryn Hill and many others.

Cocona really has been rapping for most of her life, she started when she was in 3rd grade. It partially explains why she's so absurdly good at her age. The whole rap line is bonkers, though, I have never seen a girl group with this quality AND quantity of rap talent. This has gotta be a first.

I'll be #567th to say, YES, the rest of the group/ other songs are off-the-charts great. Shooting star is remarkable, Left-Right transported me back to college days (mid 90's) & the XG Move vids (all the members do a dance highlight of sorts) made me wish for better days LOL. Take TLC, Ciara, Megan + extreme K pop quality vocals, choreo + mix in an IT factor that few other K pop groups possess & you have XG. Looking forward to more reacts, amigo!

Tape #1 is good, too. It offers a much better rap by Harvey IMHO. Also, in some of their songs, such as "Left Right" Jurin does a bit of rapping.

XG is a Hip hop and RnB group from Japan 🇯🇵, all of them were born, raised and trained in Japan before they moved to korea to establish their base there. They're under XGALX that it's a Japanese subsidiary of AVEX (the company that trained them and their producer who was also an employee there).
They consider themselves a Global group and not J-pop or kpop, that's why they sing in English 👍🏻

That was a really good reaction, particularly with Harvey. It's subtle but every four bars get more like rap. I think your the only one that picked up on that.
Based on what you said and your preference on rap, I think you'd like Shooting Star. Just a guess.
And yeah, they're all extremely talented and confident but Cocona's swag is 100% authentic. Actual quote, "I'll be fine, I'm Cocona from XG. Period." She's Japanese but channels South Central.
Careful tho, it's a wormhole like no other. I was like, this is fun then I heard their vocalists Chisa and Juria. Chisa has sort of a haunt-your-dreams voice and Juria's voice is like a warm blanket.
