      Wouldn't have been cooler though if they would have gotten some black person on their crew though? They act as if we're tech illiterate, which only furthers the stereotype that we actually are by not representing us and contributing to the problem of racism as a whole. @@alexanderfrancis3008 What the hell are you actually talking about? You're legitimately insane to imply that any company "needs" black people. Forced diversity is terrible and always backfires since it's not about quality, but rather about meeting a quota. They hire based on application and if there are people that are unfit for hire, then they aren't hired and that's about that. That's also incredibly pretentious to assume that there are that many black people applying at all, for all we know there's 1% or fewer, but there's no point even thinking about since once again it is something we have no knowledge of. Not just that, but not once have they made any defamatory or negative comments towards any black person in the decade or so that I've been watching them, so to say "They act as if we're tech illiterate" is outright idiotic. I'm half black and hate seeing people spout this diversity nonsense when it has zero impact on the content whatsoever. Please unsubscribe if your ignorance here is any display of what you bring to the community, I'm certain everyone will be happier with that outcome.

    do not expect your space bar or keys to sound like this. as a mechanical keyboard enthusiast i can tell you right now, this keyboard was optimized as much as it could be for what it is. this and the gmmk pro, both keyboards of this price point are not going to sound this way being sent to you as a non-youtuber. the same way they took the time to make custom branding and key-caps for this review unit is pretty apparent they took the time to tune the stabilizers and possibly hand lube the switches. if you do buy this keyboard, make sure to listen to your space-bar and come back to this video. you will see what i mean. your keyboard is not going to sound like this. not trying to ruin anyone's fun, i just think its important you guys understand as folks coming from a mostly computer and tech channel, keyboard companies often send optimized builds, the same way graphics card manufactures send higher binned GPUs to review channels to show the optimum benchmark scores.

    no you can't change it for a rotary encoder. that's something they talked about but didn't actually do and it requires a completely different pcb from the one they shipped.

    • @Nivengoh
      @Nivengoh 3 года назад

      A few reasons, 1 mainly is the aesthetic. Second as he mentioned you can have the cable remain/stay on the board that way you can have the front half of the cable be matching to the theme colour which again is about aesthetic. And lastly to prevent wearing out your type C connector on the board.

      @@beseakos USB-C connections are pretty durable. A good example would be a couple weeks ago where Switch and Click typed the entire script from Bee Movie and switched keyboards for every "bee". Same cable for the whole stream.
      If you get multiple cables from the same maker or are able to confirm the pinouts are the same, what you can do with aviator connectors is use a plain black or neutrally colored straight section and swap out the coils. That way you can match coils to the builds.

    • @Okusar
      @Okusar 3 года назад +2

      @@beseakos USB Type C is rated for over 10,000 cycles. If the charging port on your phone can stand up to almost daily charging for 2 - 5 years, I think it can survive being plugged/unplugged from your keyboard on occasion for a very long time. Besides, Type C is designed to wear mostly on the plug side, so even if it does wear out you could just swap the cable.

    it is dim because they designed south facing LEDs. there is a reason that most key caps have the lettering near the top of the key these days. It lines up with the LED better if the LED is ABOVE the switch rather than below. could be fixed with custom key caps with the lettering at the bottom... i guess... but i doubt any of their key caps do that.

    Someone from LTT who knows that switches don't start and end with cherry mx :) This and the GMMK Pro are pretty decent intro boards. The only thing that sucks about this is the $30 shipping to the US. International shipping always hurts. I would personally absolutely sacrifice the gasket flex for a thicker foam layer though.

    Don't disconnect aviator connectors when your keyboard is plugged in. They are not designed to be hot pluggable and might screw your usb controller. Usually, hot pluggable switches have ground connection disconnected first and then other pins are disconnected (like your USB connector housing or extra long pin in PCI).
