I love the fact that Diego helped until the end, and this scene really explains how they got out of the mine, and also Why Diego's funeral lasted 3 days, I believe Santana helped with it
Yeah. Diego remained a hero till the end. He still remained Zorro in one way. Notice he had some Zorro kit on him. The black vest, the gloves and the belt. Oh and , did Diego and Alejandro exchange swords? Or did Don Diego have more than one in his lair ? I think he had more than one sword. I mean he was a professional.
So unrealistic. This scene should have gone like this. Santana: who are you? Zorro: WHAT!?!!?!? Santana: who are you? Everyone: WHAT????? Zorro: Sorry I and I'm pretty sure everyone else behind me can't hear you given the fact that we just had our hearing destroyed by a massive explosion.
Its a good scene for sure and im sorry it got deleted but I can see why. It was dramatically more impactful to dissolve from Diegos death to the ending. Showing this after would have been lessen the his death scene.Plus it would have been awkward that Alejandro and Elena would start to make out right after as well. My guess is this was supposed to be the ending but they cut it and shoot the ending in the theatrical version we see now.
One of the things I appreciate about this ending is that coy look Santa Anna gave Alejandro afterwards. Clearly knowing but catching Alejandro's drift to play along so that Zorro always remains a useful myth.
I like how Joaquin de Almeida played this short role ! His character seems so friendly ! Shame they deleted this scene ! Oh and how come he didn't notice Alejandro was Zorro?! Sure he didn't have the mask on. But the black garments say almost everything. Come on ! Everyone knows Zorro is a man in black. In the 2007 telenovela, Diego was recognised by his dad, when He was only in the black pirate shirt , the boots, the pants and with the medallion on his neck. Oh come on !
Oh and on second thoughts. It is fine if he didn't recognise him as Zorro. Zorro's costume is nothing special or specific. Any one can make a disguise like that. You just put some black jeans on, black shoes, gloves , a mask made out of a cloth, a hat , and a sword. Anyone can be this man ! Litteraly any one ! Including me. Sometimes I like to pretend I am something like him. My fave character of all time.
He was only human. Santa Ana was apparently a pretty chill guy. It it because his later actions that most Mexicans remember him as a traitor, and Americans remember him as a villain.
This scene is the best continuation and make the presidente an important character for a sequel .. Maybe the reason why they deleted this is because of the black attire of Alejandro which is very similar to Zorro
the most unhappy crowd of people, who were slaves, nearly got killed and now are free and Santa Anna will give them food and drink and a place to stay and sleep 😆
Well, they may be free, but they still have nothing, I like the realistic aproach of the slaves, You know, unlike other movies when they just saw the end of the world but start partying and singing right after.
I can’t believe he married mel Griffith so glad there not together anymore she was and is such a bad drug dealing who should have stoped long time ago I feel sorry yet happy Antonio and Don have a healthier relationship with there girls in there life now
I'll be very surprised Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna and Zorro will be friends and allies and I knew Rafael and Captain Love are no match against Santa Anna Army because Santa Anna has thousands of men more than Rafeal small army
And by "Remember Alamo" I suppose you mean remember when a bunch of white settlers started to cross into Mexican territory and bring their slaves with them, a practice that was illegal in Mexico (but very much booming in the US), and when the Mexican government started to crack down on the slavers they decided to "proclaim their independence" and then proceeded to beg the US government (headed by an expansionistic slaver in the form of Polk) to intervene in a shameless war of expansion that not only preserved slavery in Texas for another 20 years but also seized massive amounts of land from Mexico for the sake of "Manifest Destiny"?
@@olavops1000 It was Mexico at the time that needed Anglo-American migrants if they converted to Catholicism for Mexican citizenship to help Mexico fight the Indians and cultivate the land. But it was the Spanish settlers in Mexico the first to have enslaved Africans and Indians by forcibly converting them to Catholicism or exterminating them.
@@clem5632 That's irrelevant. It was illegal in Mexico (no longer Spain). And those Anglo settlers never converted and never gave up their slaves. They were worse than Santa Anna.
@@dab0331 Santa Anna was not better either he was a tyrant (Mexican Napoleon) He executed a lot of innocent people at Fort Alamo and in Goliad he took no prisoners.

They should have kept that scene in. It was great to see Joaguin de Almeida playing Santana. Man, what a gem. :-)

It doesn't explain how they got out of the mine.
One part I like is that Santa Anna took everyone who was forced to work as slaves to get them food, water, and possibly new clothes.
So unrealistic. This scene should have gone like this.

Santana: who are you?

Fun fact, that is a alternate ending in my head cannon
Lol he knew he was Zorro. He didn't need to ask especially when he's the only one wearing something that would resemble Zorro
Yeah and he saw he wants to have it as a secret so was discrett 😊
Miss Jones was exceptionally pretty in this movie.
Indeed. Hands down among the top 5 most beautiful women in cinema history.

Actually the final version made the movie more fairytale-like than this would have

From heartless drug lord to generous commander
That kiss is so awkward without music omg I had to whistle it myself.
Ahahahaha I'm dead
Santa Anna i think knew he s zorro but of discret 😊😉
Indeed!!!!
Absolutely! The smile and the nod at the end says everything! He wanted to thank him back by keeping his identity a secret
I hate it when they cut out full fully shot scenes from these movies! It's dishonest!
I think Elena now was glad she did not take the map from him . Otherwise the slaves would get killed
They should have put this in the movie for sureeeee😭😭😭

Zorro could be ANYWHERE!!!
So, there's still a ZORRO.
He's batman's ancestor
Of course their must be a batman reference everywhere even where it doesn't fit
00:16 It looks like the production remembered some historical trivia, his left legs looks pretty... prosthetic.
Thank you for uploading this.
I like this scene. I wish they hadn't cut it out.
Notice how they portray General Santa Ana as good guy as opposed to a villain like in The Alamo.
He was only human. Santa Ana was apparently a pretty chill guy. It it because his later actions that most Mexicans remember him as a traitor, and Americans remember him as a villain.

Needs a little music...
but Elena is a passionate kisser as well as dancer...
They should have kept that scene
this was more a 60's western vibe ending, I really liked this one better than the original ending
She's an angel 🥵🥵🥵
Too bad this wasn't in the 4K release's special features.
Santa Anna.
Good guy....or bad guy?
There are very strong opinions on this (both ways).
That's why the scene was deleted.
Pity three fingured Jack did not survive
At least he was avenged.
Yeah but he could of survived if he woudnt do nonsence and then with Alejandro punch love

Santa Ana wasn't a particularly nice guy, but he opposed slavery, which is more than the Texans can say.

The Alamo

Texas: Santa Anna
