- There are very few monsters in the series that can rivalise the amount of personality Kulve Taroth has.
I was never really a fan of her chase-event in High Rank, but Master Rank Kulve Taroth is one of my favorite fights in Iceborne.
The different themes this monster has, her moveset, phase changes, and lore around her are some of the highest amount of work put into one monster in these games. I love her roar, and I love the whole lore around her golden mantle and how this species feels ugly and vulnerable if they are "naked" without said mantle.
Which is actually true in gameplay, Kulve Taroth has a somewhat soft body all around that can take good damage especially tenderized.
Kulve Taroth is also by far one of the best "very" large monsters in the series. Her speed and moveset are just right, allowing players to easily interact with her in combat despite her size.
Her giant golden slam at 6:29 is one of my favorite moves ever.
It's like the ultimate super move ; it has a lot of wind up, it looks impressive, but it also has very short active frames, making it easy to dodge it and be rewarded for doing so. Probably my favorite attack in that whole game.
Lastly, Kulve Taroth's unique victory theme goes so hard. I think it's my favorite in the series after Tri's victory theme, it's so, so good. You can even hear parts of Astera's main melody in it - 8:03.
This video is something I wanted to do for a while. I did a few mistakes, and it's not the best completion time... But at least my main goal with this run was to be the least sloppy possible, to not use mantles and to not get hit by Kulve Taroth.
I did get hit once before the first phase change, but it really didn't matter since she was moving away anyways. Unfortunately I also got hit by some RNG lava at the last phase... I hope you will still enjoy this showcase.

Imagine being swallowed whole by a monster and then using spinning bludgeon to break out... What an odd ending, but a great video, as always.
Sliding air hammer is one of the most satisfying strategies.
YES! Kulve taroth as a siege monster was ok, i remember immediately being struck by how layered and alien sounding her roar is. but MR kulve taroth is probably my second favorite fight in all of iceborne, only behind alatreon. Totally agree about the belly slam, i used to get so terrified and try to superman dive it, but at some point i learned i could time my roll around the explosion, not her landing, and it became one of her most satisfying moves to punish.
that ending though lol
Edit: Also want to add that I absolutely agree with you about Kulve Taroth. Such an incredibly well designed monster and I really hope to see her again in Wilds!
I would kill for that
Your @ is so fucking funny lmao
@@dynamo_lynn I'm glad you think so 😁
That ??? ending tho 😂🙌 5:30 was so intense 😬 . So cool u gave us your 2 cents in the description and also pointed out Astera theme part in Victory music. I didnt notice it till now 😲! I love reading these ❤. Great bonking, Lynn!!! Such an amazing fight! GG 👍🤗
I laughed out loud as world's weird collision decided you got to be inside at the end, what an unintentionally funny finish. Really fun fight to watch; Kulve just drips style.
Great job, as always! Happy Holidays !
Great video Lynn!!
dude, this matchup is so amazing. Hammer on Kulve just feels so satisfying, and hard agree on her being the best “giant” monster fight in the series, thus far. she’s just so much more interactive than any of the other monsters that came before, and the pace really does feel just right. i think it’s partially since she isn’t slow as shit, but also because she doesn’t really rely on projectiles and big AOEs to fight. she’s a surprisingly physical monster, and her move-set is really well crafted to-boot. compared to shit like Safi, Xeno, Narkarkos, or even Shen, Lao, or the Yama’s, there’s just no comparison. Arch Tempered Xeno and Gaismagorm are kinda close, but Kulve is just so much more intimidating, especially in her final phase. praying that Wilds brings in more monsters of this caliber, because she is a standout of 5th gen for sure.
Kulve Taroth is such a great fight. Honestly an easy, but still an incredibly fun one. The atmosphere of the locale, the beautiful soundtrack, the gimmicks and intricacies of her fight, make her siege and MR hunt both spectacular fights. Probably the only reason I was able to grind 70 Kulves to get all my Dual Blades and then continue hunting her another 150 times. Only annoying thing is her fire attacks, though, hate some of them with a passion. I recall one run of mine, which had potential to be a PB, where I died to the lingering fire after knocking her with the boulder and in the process of setting up for a follow-up stun. Very frustrating and I still am yet to get a sub-7.
Despite that, I'd love to see her in Wilds too, although my favorite overall is still Vaal Hazak and I'll sacrifice any other monster for him. XD
Her Stories 2 fight was also cool too. Shame I was solo and had to resort to cheese invulnerability so the AI wouldn't kill itself.
That beggining was brutal
i love the aerial spinning bludgeon on hammer
MR KT and Alatreon were my peak experiences in Iceborne
Such fun fights
2:22 oh thats just brilliant
The panicking at the end haha
that was amazing bonking skill..
Kulve was done so well. I personally say better than Safi'jiiva.
Such a good breath of fresh air with siege fights. Hope the older ones can follow both of their examples.
You killed him from inside 😂👍🏼
Thank you for carving, it drives me nuts when runners don't do it
Haha that's something I do in all of my videos!
I’m MR in MHWI and already find the piece of gold and hear about this elder dragon but I can’t find her quest anywhere.
I’m not so high to unlock her quest in MR but I’m supposedly available for her quest in high rank but nothing still 😪
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think MR KT is an event quest, but one that isn't always available. I had to resort to a mod that makes it a permanent quest to be able to record this video.
Yeah, unfortunately Kulve is only available for 2 weeks before rotating out with Safi.
wich pants are those
How you get this mission? I thought it was festive event.
Probably mod to keep the Quest active out of season
Noice
how did you get access to this quest even now?
Permanent mod.
Finally someone turned off the damage indicators
huh? 🤨
