Fantastic run! Love Iceborn's Alatreon, eschaton and all. It's one of the coolest fights in the series for spectacle, up there with Sunbreak's Amatsu spectacle, and is p tough as a casual player too. It *feels* epic, and when I killed both of them it genuinely felt like killing a god--those two are just so far and away above the other elders in how they're presented. Also just love the way 3s theme is woven into Altreon's theme. Even with the two hits, this was such a clean run--you continue to inspire and impress with every run. Especially love that spin into golf swing when he does the freezy breath. What hammer skin are you using here? It looks cool as heck. The surprise adios took me out laughing, loved it. And loved editting in 3s victory at the end too.
I know fatalis weapons end up being better in terms of pure dps, but are they worth using knowing you'll be killed by Escaton? Kjarrs are statistically worse, but they can grant you at least one elemental topple, don't require handicraft and let you stay in the arena when Escaton happens. Would't that improve the time or is it just the same with the 1 cart?
Since coming back to MHW, I’ve started using Hammer allot more and while challenging at points it’s engaging and fun, just need to look at getting more/ decorations and figuring out best armor and skills to use, though yesterday I finally beat Raging Brachydios and got his hammer!
Near complete garbage fight design. I say near because in multiplayer he can still be somewhat fun I think Furious Rajang is a little better, even if he has his own bullshit
There is an option in the settings (in-game, not in the title screen) that allows you to choose an outline color for your character when he or she is behind objects.
I don't use any mods aside from the blood VFX and the different critical hit VFX, the majority of my mods are just cosmetic or small utility like showing true attack numbers on weapons.
Sunbreak in my opinion has the better hammer moveset but Iceborne has those heavy hit sound that give me happy feels when i hit a monster. Been on the grind on a 2nd iceborne character doing the content without pause between update leave you with no decos and money it's been rough!😅 Great run and a stylish look as bonus!
Iceborne has by far the better Hammer moveset. Yes Sunbreak has Courage Hammer, which is a rework of Valor Hammer, but Strength Hammer is absolute shit with abysmal motion values all around and only one single move worth using. Even Courage has only charge attacks worth using, everything else is completely useless. Iceborne Hammer has its entire moveset viable, with not a single move in it not being useful for different situations. It is by far one of if not the best iteration of Hammer in the series.
@@bluemew6457 if you mean the side slap, it's a faster combo starter for your Golf swing finisher. You see me use it more than a couple times in this run. It's also a good starter before using your Big Bang Combo but I haven't learned to do this properly yet personally
Rise/Sunbreak Hammer is awful and extremely limiting, went from mostly hammer in world to never using in in rise because it was so gutted. Some other weapons got expanded movesets but Hammer got dumbed way down.
this video made me realize that for hammer mains its probably easier to just brute force alatreon with raw damage while going solo, instead of going for elemental damage or playing in groups. though when i did beat him earlier today i was using the fatalis hammer. how hard do you think it would be to fight alatreon with raging brachy equipment?
If you're fighting Alatreon before having acquired Fatalis equipment then you might have to eat two Escaton Judgement carts, which shouldn't really matter as long as you don't cart from anything else Alatreon does
I do like Iceborne. I played through it with my best friend so despite all the criticisms I have about it, I still had a good time playing it. There is no best fight in the game, the best fight is whichever is your own favorite
5:27 Main reason why Alatrion is a bad fight. You've wailed on him nonstop and because hammer doesn't deal much of element damage, you can't prevent the Judgment from being at full power. Great Monster to fight but the mechanic is the reason I never want to fight him ever again after getting Weapons/Armor
I'm answering this late but using a Safi hammer on Alatreon with just Fire attack 3 or 4 is enough to easily meet the elemental checks, this is my choice in this run to use the Fatalis Hammer because its raw power just gets a better completion time.

For Hammer specifically going raw is superior.

No the Ele threshold is still perfectly meetable with Hammer, casually I don’t recommend trying to brute force it.
