The actual reason techwear pants have straps is because the original "techwear" pants were inspired by air force pants which are used to keep objects secure inside the pockets whilst the pilot does aerial manouvers.

Look more like M1942 Jump Trousers for paratroopers. You see old pictures of them with the straps around full cargo pockets.
Only major difference is the colour and more taper below the knee.

@@lofighost8811 The modernized, and less copied, style was already being done by ACRNM, the 1940s were something he could copy directly, quickly to jump on ACRNMs nuts.
If I saw someone dressed like that, I'd either think they were into EDM, or into bondage. At no point would I think "techwear".
Techwear is the name for this genre of fashion, and yes, it is heavily associated with EDM culture

I really like some of the innovations of tech wear. They do have purpose /functionality, which makes them have that extra aside from aesthetic. I find these things really useful for hiking or being on the go. Traveling seems like a good for for this kind of aesthetic.

There phones and wallets lookin mad uncomfortable and it’s more secure than normal pockets I find with tech wear quality over quantity unless ur going with a full fit for air soft or paintball you only need like 1 or 2 pieces to stand out enough but still be comfortable,stylish and secure.

I tuck my straps in because a lot of dangling gear is bad or could get caught on stuff. So I roll them up and put rubber bands along them to keep them in place.
I learned this when dealing with SCBAs and the straps just get everywhere-so I just tuck them in.
These are just a carry over from the early 2000s when you had a phone. A jump drive, a cd player. Cd case. Head phones, and an extra 10 pack of batteries, the game boy and all your games....lol

In my opinion, there should be a way to stow the excess straps. Sure, it's practical to tie down heavy weight in your cargo pocket.
However, it's a major liability & snag hazard. Imagine having your reinforced nylon legstraps get stuck in machinery or on terrain/obstacles when running away from someone. Seems like a major design flaw if practicality is your goal.
