I really like FvJ Jason's unmasked design honestly. It's probably a top three unmasked design for me. I know it's a really divisive look but it reminds me a lot of Part 4's design which is another one of my favorites. It also really REALLY reminds me of Boris Karloff's Frankenstein Monster which makes me like it all the more. I love it when they callback to the classic monsters like that. Jason's design from the movie definitely pulled a lot from Frankenstein's Monster in general. The face, the jacket, and of course the big 'ol lifts. Great review as always, Spot. I had a weird issue with my figure's shirt but outside of that I gotta say this is my favorite Jason figure NECA has done so far.

The biggest problem with the head isn't the head sculp, but the paint. They used the same color for his skin as they did his clothes. So there is no contrast between flesh and cloth and it all becomes muttled and indistinguishable.
A Jason X cyborg Jason would be sweet. As for the size comparisons Kane Hodder as Jason, he was mega tall. Not 100% sure on FvJ. But I could tell.he had some height.
My go to channel always putting out just pure quality! Been clamoring for this guy for some time now. Can’t wait to find him in the wild! Well hopefully in the wild. I loved Freddy vs Jason. Regardless of the hate. 🍻

Well despite this Jason's design including his walnut shaped noggin I still like this figure and he'll go great in your horror collection or collection in general.
I feel like with Freddy vs Jason they were going with a different take on Jason's character. Kane Hodder was really good at portraying Jason as this hulking, pissed off monster, busting through walls and smashing people's heads in. But in FvJ Jason was depicted more as a sad, lumbering giant who kills because his restless spirit needs his mother's validation. Now, I'm not saying it was Shakespearean levels of character depth, but it was definitely there. Freddy was undoubtedly the antagonist of the movie. Jason was just a pawn. Freddy's scenes were shot bathed in an evil red glow, but Jason's had a melancholic teal tint, and just Ken Kirzinger overall body language really conveys that sense that he's a lost, wandering misfit. It was a good way to make Jason kind of a sympathetic antihero. Maybe Kane Hodder could've done just as well as a more sympathetic Jason. I don't know. They never gave him the chance. But I think what they did worked.
Place your Bets was removed from the film. Also, I know in the final film it comes off as 'Jason is afraid of water', but I thought it was worth knowing the context of that idea. The writers, Swift & Shannon wanted to convey that Jason has a subconscious fear of DROWNING, which is why the following nightmare is Jason reliving his first death. But of course that didn't translate into the film at all.
This juggernaut Jason was awesome! The only thing I didn't like was his head wasn't as articulated as the other Jasons. Also, I noticed an extra hole on the bottom left side of the masks. Other than that, NECA nailed this figure! Love your reviews on these figures btw 👍
I got this figure today. I really like it. I am a little annoyed that one of the straps on his mask broke off, but gorilla glue fixed that. I have 4 Jasons(part 3, final chapter, part 6, and this one), and this one is probably my favorite.
Just got him last Monday. And I love him, I’m not to crazy about his KISS (Gene Simmons)shoes ha. Nice review by the way Spot. I have several guys I look forward to the reviews. Pretty cool! Love the flame effect on the machete. This guy is pretty tall. Nice work by NECA on the machetes looking worn and weathered. The added hockey mask variations are cool. Love the claw marked mask . Spot's walnut head sculpt description is hilarious. Kind of reminds me of one of the Skiff guards on Jabba's barge in Return of the Jedi. The boots look silly a la Frankenstein. The trench coat looks good with bullet holes and rips and is nicely dry brushed . The articulation seems stiff. I like the new arm and leg side swivel. A pretty good figure. I think Freddy won. Great review. Thanks again Spot!

The legal battle between the writer of the first movie, and the producer of the series for the ownership rights to the franchise have put a halt to F13 merchandise. NOBODY can do ANYTHING with Jason right now.
SlasherIncorporated I don’t think the Victor Miller lawsuit applies to NECA figures since the lawsuit happened in early 2018 and NECA has announced quite a few new F13 figures since then (Part V Dream, Part V Roy, FvsJ and the Remake one)
André Pansera It didn't at that time, but it does NOW. ALL merchandise being affected happened only just recently. NECA was still able to produce figures despite the lawsuit, but now they can't. They've lost the license. Any figures that were already announced and produced will still be released. But that's it. NECA can't do anymore Friday the 13th stuff. Ultimate Roy Burns Jason figure, and 8" clothed 'zombie' Pamela Voorhees from the end of Part III will be the last F13 figures from them for a while.

Great review! I think you put the fire on backwards though, it shows it the other way around on the box. Although I guess depending on which way you want to imagine him swinging the machete, they flames could be going either way. I'm definitely displaying him with the scratched mask, it's really cool. And personally, I thought Ken Kerzinger did an awesome job in this movie.

Bought this figure and most of the rest of the ultimate NECA Jasons because of this review. Had gotten out of collecting figures for a long time. Had to have em after seeing this though. Love this figure. Jason got the last blow in by impaling Freddy with his own arm so gotta give to him.

Yeah, I like to think that Jason won, mainly because Freddy killed only two people, and one of those happened in like, the past. Seriously, I know he isn't known for killing many people, but that was just kind of sad.
It makes me sad that no Hodder Jason is going to get the Ultimate treatment for the foreseeable future, but am happy they managed to cover so many in a short span of time. Can’t wait for Roy!
3 things I hoped this figure would've came with were 2 alternate hands one holding freddy's head and his other hand holding his machete, a fourth mask from the ending of the movie where it visibly has more damage/cracks, and that metal pole Jason's used for that double kill in the corn field when that rave dude tried to screw Gibb

I hated the platform boots until I realized that I definitely want Jason absolutely towering over Freddy. It just feels right. This is my favorite Jason, by far. Not a huge fan of the garb he's wearing. I don't hate it, don't love it either. But I adore the film for sure.
Is NECA going to make more Jason figures from 7,8,9,10 or was FvJ the last one they'll make, I'd really like all of those, this video is a month old so I'm assuming FvJ figure is still fairly new

Great review Spot as always. (That being said, this Jason design from this film is one of my least favorite Jason's ever. He just comes of like Frankenstein's monster with a hockey mask. The clothing looks nothing like previous Jason's to me. )

I like the head sculpt. What i DON'T like is it's a fixed head. Doesn't move, can't be swapped. I would expect that from McF, NOT NECA. I actually bought this figure for his accessories for use with part 6 Jason and with that mask and the flaming machete, it's *chef's kiss* the PERFECT Jason imo. Still might use him for something...

There is a Freddy severed head accessory, it doesn’t come with this one though, it comes with the older, less articulated figure.

You made a good point about having more blood on the body. However his clothing is so dark it would be difficult to see it

I hated the platform boots until I realized that I definitely want Jason absolutely towering over Freddy. It just feels right.
This is my favorite Jason, by far. Not a huge fan of the garb he's wearing. I don't hate it, don't love it either. But I adore the film for sure.
Is NECA going to make more Jason figures from 7,8,9,10 or was FvJ the last one they'll make, I'd really like all of those, this video is a month old so I'm assuming FvJ figure is still fairly new

NECA can also release this figure as a Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash comic style figure as well. Spot, Jason has a huge head because he has hydrocephalus (which is basically fluid on the brain).
Tubby3.0 They can't right now, or anytime soon. NECA recently lost the license to Friday the 13th, due to the lawsuit going on. The legal battle between the writer of the first movie, and the producer of the series for the ownership rights to the franchise have put a halt to F13 merchandise. NOBODY can do ANYTHING with Jason right now.

Ken kirzenger who plays Jason in the vs is the tallest stunt man that played Jason that's probably why it's taller than the rest.

Great review Spot as always. (That being said, this Jason design from this film is one of my least favorite Jason's ever. He just comes of like Frankenstein's monster with a hockey mask. The clothing looks nothing like previous Jason's to me. )
Hahaha love the walnut reference, yeah I agree it was definitely a bad Jason design but still a cool figure! My favorite version of Jason was from Jason Lives! I love that Neca figure and love the nasty face with his skull showing!

Jason's skin color in Freddy vs. Jason was more of a very dark gray than a brownish black. NECA really dropped the ball on this part.

I like michael myers better as a horror chacter but i have to say this looks way cooler than the halloween 2 neca and 2018 on youtube never saw in person.

I’ve been a diehard Michael fan for over 20 years, and I have to say that this FvJ is lightyears better in person. However, both of the ultimate Michael’s are awesome.

I like the head sculpt. What i DON'T like is it's a fixed head. Doesn't move, can't be swapped. I would expect that from McF, NOT NECA. I actually bought this figure for his accessories for use with part 6 Jason and with that mask and the flaming machete, it's *chef's kiss* the PERFECT Jason imo. Still might use him for something...
