The problem with the Shark is the battery dies very quickly. No, I don't mean just the charge (yes, it also degrades fast), I mean the battery itself. I have owned multiple units and they die very quickly I find. I just purchased the Bissel model so hopefully that product has a better longevity for it's battery.
I've been using both for over a year now and neither have died yet. The Shark I use the most because it is in my home- it continues to work pretty well for me!
I am looking for a handheld vaccum for the car so I think I would probably go with the Bissell Aeroslim as it has the thinner nozzle and therfore it will be easier to get into those hard to reach areas like down the sides of the car seats.
