The blooms are beautiful despite the thrips trying their best to get them. Do you think giving the higher fertilizer for part of the year helps with the growth and blooming?
Still not sure, but I do think so because of the big structures that the plant needs to create, it needs feed to do that... So that's why it does get more feed in the growing season.
Hi, great advice and tips for growing cymbidium in semihydro, thanks for sharing. Hopefully you will get rid of those thrips soon. I have an Asian cymbidium which is coming to bloom soon. Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
Great question, thanks! I have two Psychopisses growing in self watering, inorganic media. One is doing great, the other one is not a strong plant, but is doing fine. I have them in SW for at least three years now. They bloom all the time for me! So they can be grow this way. They do not like to be to cold. So I do not go under the 18 degrees at night. I will make a Q&A video this week and will discus this question a bit further. Because these plants are not the easiest for most people to grow.... Thanks again and I hope this helps? :D Happy growing!
Thrips!! I hate them! I am surprised that the plant and spikes didn’t rot away in that setting. I would say you need complete repot/clean up to get rid of thrips…
This time I had some blooms but it took a lot of spraying… I will do a repot soon! Good advice, thanks. I agree, they are in the media off this one indeed…
😊👍
