Propane conversation is the way to go--Burns clean and very efficient + you never have to store fuel or drain it very nice-In my fema days they were out of Gas propane was always accessible!
Thanks for the video...I purchased one of these for my off-grid cabin about 7 yrs ago to operate my deep well pump. But I find I use it for everything, from power tools to refrigerator etc., and it just keeps on ticking. It's light, quiet and easy to operate...I Love it!
I'm glad its working for you. I think its a slight step up from the Honda given its feature set too.
I walked right by one today at work. I noticed it by seeing it sooner than i heard it. Nice quiet little machine.
Thank you so very much for making this video! We have had ours for years, but my husband did all of the maintenance. Sadly, he passed last October and I needed to learn how to maintain the generators! I have two, but that is because we use them to RV! If you have done a video on changing the spark plugs, let me know! Thanks!
I have one of these I stored 9 months and 5 min ago, it started w/absolutely no pre storage prep. I cannot recommend this. When it goes back to storage, I’ll most certainly prepare it for storage. It started first and only pull.
What is the recommended oil change interval and what weight of oil.
I must have this. I will put it next to my blue Yamaha Kodiak ATV. This could be very useful for my sump pump in a storm when power is out. Also really like the notion of a series set-up and that its 4 stroke and it comes with badass sheepskin slippers. Thanks for posting
Great video, brother. I love my Yamaha. Same brand name as my saxophone.🎼
Very clear -complete directions
Just picked one of these up a week ago. Love it!
Good vid I have been looking into buying a generator. But if I get one must I wear those shoes?
For breaking in, you don't want to use some premium synthetic oil as it will actually hamper the break in. Just use regular oil, and if you really want to be cautious change it after a few hours run time to make sure there's no foreign particles left over from engine assembly. After it's broken in then you can start using synthetic. You really don't have to 'baby' the engine. Just look on some motorcycle forums and you will see the best advice for breaking in a new motorbike is to, "ride it like you stole it." Even on new cars they tell you such things as, "vary the engine speed, don't run at the same speed for an extended time during break in." So for a gen, flip the 'Eco' switch every now and then to vary the speed.
Be sure and test just what you can power with it so there's no surprise overloads during an emergency. Mine can easily run my 25.9 cu ft late model fridge and window A/C. Older model fridges and A/Cs might have too high startup wattage.
My Yamaha gen has been used once. It has been drained of gas and stored for about 2 years. Now I have use for it, but having changed the oil and filled up with gas, I find it is surging and once the choke is in it cuts out?
Great video. Mine runs excellent but it's not powering up anything I plug into it currently. Haven't used it in a while but does start right up? Any idea what it may be or how to fix it ? Thanks....
Flip the switch for power.
At How many hours you change oil
Yes I really like that royal purple synthetic oil I run it in my jeep and it seems to do pretty well
Royal Purple is good oil for racing applications, but it doesn’t have detergents I’m it like Mobil 1.
When do you have to change the air filter?
Those are great units! Just one thing if your going to try to run them in parallel it may not be quite enough for some RV start capacitors.
You're probably right about the capacitors.
I've heard of folks changing out the start capacitors to get them to work.
The Yamaha has metal ⚙️ gears that turn the top end of the engine; the Honda uses a rubber belt. I’d rather have metal gears. I’ve also head that Honda is gonna start going with a nylon cam. (Keep it.). And the Yamaha has the fuel gage; Honda doesn’t. Yamaha comes with cast iron cylinder sleeves. Not sure about the Honda. All the outfitters in Florida who take these on fishing boats, use the Yamaha & swear by it.
Thx for the video....fuel gauge stop working on mine, any ideas? thx...
Thanks mate, top video.
How do you remove the cover on the Yamaha EF2000is inverter.
I sure would NOT be wearing those shoes around an oil change! LOL!
Can you tell me why you removed your spark arrestor gauze. Does it run better without?
+Neih Hou I didn't know I removed anything.
have you tried to use truefuel ? I use it on all my small engine equipment it's an excellent fuel.
Save money and just find ethanol free gas station near you. $4 vs $19
Thanks for the video.
Love the shoes!
Do you oil on the spark plug hole every 100 hours?
I have one of these. Good review on the oil change. I like the shoes!!
Oh here it is. You mentioned it in the steam last week. Id never even heard of it. In radio its all Honda Honda Honda.
Yep. I think the Yamaha is a better unit when you look at the features.
I just purchased a unit like yours for camping. My friends recommended putting a table spoon of sugar in my gas tank to help clean the carburetor every 10 hrs. I have 2 hrs to go until the 10 hrs is up. Thanks for the info
RAPTURE READY I've never heard a thing about sugar in the gas tanks. Other than when it is done to cars, bad things happen. I'd advise not following your friends recommendation.
RAPTURE READY Your friends are idiots.
you were right. it ruined my motor.. ugh
you were right. it ruined my motor.. ugh
you were right!
i have had this gen for about 9 years , good gen but low oil sensor is very touchy . If it gets just a tiny bit low it will shut down. Pain in the rear if you are out camping and dont have oil to put in it. Plenty strong enough to run a sawzall or circular saw.
Thanks so much, just changed my oil and you made it simple!
Andrew Citarella I apreciate the comment! Glad the video helped! Its a great unit! I really like mine.
No problem, yeah love mine too!
What's the best cheapest generators that provide the most power ?
Buy a pulsar 2300 their really nice
These have a very sensitive oil switch in that the machine must be near level when running.
I have one of these and stored it w/ no prestotprage
thanks for the vid and review. those shoes are FIRE by the way!
Thanks buddy!
This generator still running?
Heck yeah
@@HamRadioCrashCourse Thats super encouraging. I have the 2200ie just changed oil with purple. Ran it hard last year and a half with camper and house building. Zero issues and runs for almost 11 hrs on tank.
Thanks bub!
You wiped the ground and then went straight to the sump plug with the paper wipe ?????
What is the link in Amazon the hours meter reader thanks
Hardline model amzn.to/2DMNQqG
My yam, almost brand new shorted its inveror, motor runs fine, no power. Best in class? Not.
Great units !
I agree!
Thank you for the phone call information on
Can you fun a 5000btu air conditioner?
I'll output about 13.5 amps at 120v
What is the total amount of oil to fill it? 1/2 qt.?
John Echterhoff Yes, I believe 1/2 qt. is correct.
Got the manual in front of me. Says 0.4L which is 0.42 qt so a little under a half quart i would say.
Thanks
John Echterhoff
You're welcome!
so what is the battery chrger on the front...does it not work witha standard 110 volt battery charger
That is a straight 12 v DC out. It also of course has AC.
Informative video. 🙏
Watch out using inverter generators while using ham radio. They do create EMI. You'll need a good account line filter. Unless you don't mind noise spikes all over the bands.
Stator generators are even worse for emi. I try and get them very far away from anything either way.
@@HamRadioCrashCourse yes.....but, even if 100 feet away, you've just put a 100 ft radiating element on it. Looking into some better EMI line filters for my encomm/portable rig.
I guess what I am trying to say is, if you use a generator, no mater which kinda you will most likely face this issue. And of all the generators you can buy, the inverter is the noisy. You'd still need to use chokes and appropriate grounding to quiet the noise.
Yeah....I hear ya there. The old type, you had stator noise, and the new ones...the inverter style, while giving you a nicer sine wave, are notorious for emi. I spend most of my time on the lower end of 40 meters, and am lucky I don't get much noise there. But, I'm looking into a good commercial emi filter, so, it's a nice package to haul around. My homebrew filter doesn't lend itself to compactness, and travel.
1:39 not exactly true. Shutting the fuel off and letting it run dry is fine. But you will find that opening the carb drain screw will produce a significant amount of fuel left in the bowl.
This is a very good point. True winterizing is draining your bowl.
Nice shoes buddy.
Thanks pal
Thanks!!! You make it look so easy!!! :)!!! :D!!!
so u have to change the oil every 10 hrs u run
The first few changes to be good to the engine, yeah.
first hour and magnetic drain stick. Metal on ends not as much honda yamaha senci motors.
I only use ethanol free gasoline and no stable and still starts flawlessly.
Jenny should be run every three months to keep internals lubricated.
Ummm. You should have gotten the RP break in oil....
I don't mean to be a keyboard warrior.
But you should have at least used dino conventional oil....
That RP you used is beyond synthetic
Use non-ethanol gas. Do a search on the internet and you will find a gas station that carries it near your property.
sorry I meant trufuel.
nice shoes :D
2:49 A table is good.
The shoes 👞 🤣🤣
Comfy is king.
@@HamRadioCrashCourse Believe it or not I have changed oil in similar shoes.
Thank you for using an American made product.. Porter Cable Product
nice slippers.
you filled it incorrectly top of spout look at the idiot diagram on the gene, also why are you using car oil, its not ment for the heat of an air cooled engine, a car operates at 198 degrees, air cooled way hotter, use an approved motorcycle oil, like yamalube, thumper, motol, whatever not car oil, the heat will break down the car oil quick. dont follow this procedure read the book brahhhh
Maui Kawi I did read the manual, its filled to the top of the bottom threads and 10w-30 is fine.
100% idle?
do not add sugar to your gas tank fyi... it didn't help
+RAPTURE READY No, it does not.
+hoshnasi how's your genie been treating you?
It is working great! Did you get yours back up and running?
I sure did.. they warranties the rings. It's been running great now. We had a bad storm roll threw on Christmas day & lost power for 3 days. It ran my wood stove refrigerator TV & fan with ease. Great genie
nice shoes .....
thanks You Tube Son
wtf kinda shoes are those?
Some badass sheeps wool slippers.
HE is protecting his virginity .......
Foot shoes.
