The theme from the Bean movie...great orchestral music, thought it deserved a place on youtube for everyone to listen to. Copyright Howard Goodall 1997
I've been finding that video that used this theme as background, and the visuals had this rapidly changing world, like new inventions coming up, new discoveries, and cures to diseases that were incurable before. I cant find it , I should've downloaded it when I had the chance. It was a huge joy to feel that... we as humanity have come so far...
This song fills me with pure joy, happiness, faith and ascend my soul into heaven, and I'm not even exaggerating. Thank you Rowan Atkinson for giving us the most memorable childhood.
This song exhibits so much symbolism. You have the “mad pianos” chaotic notes that you hear very loudly at first, but as the piece goes on, they fade, and even though you can still hear them slightly in the background, you are overwhelmed with this beautiful orchestrated harmony that calms you. Its basically saying that no matter how much you worry or stress over something, you will be okay in the end and there is always a way to fix what has been broken. Calm down and don’t worry, it will all be just fine 😔
wow 🤯 this perfectly describes exactly how i feel about this composition and approach in life. whatever we’re going through, we’ll make it through. we’ll all be ok.
How this song goes from an intense and sort of chaotic sound into this beautiful orchestrated piece all while the pianos keep with the chaotic sound is amazing. It's like if you are to make a mistake you are able to make something beautiful out of it if you try hard enough. Everything will be alright. You've got this.
This theme may seem out of place for being Mr Bean, but it's pretty damn good. And it actually fits perfectly with the epic scene by the end. A surprisingly touching scene where Mr Bean proves that he's actually very smart (just misunderstood) and also where he shows a rare glimpse of humanity by redeeming himself for his friend.
I remember seeing an interview where Rowan Aktinson explained, that in his eyes, bean isn't stupid or mentally challenged, but simply has a child-like approach to the world. In that context, it becomes easy to see how a lot of his actions are simply what a child would chose to do in the same situation. Bean isn't stupid or mentally damaged, but an adult who never gave up on his childhood. That in turn explains why particularly children absolutely adore watching mr. Bean, because they can see themselves in him.
@@bobsemple7660 I’ve been watching Mr. Bean since childhood and he never struck me as alien. He’s been a great inspiration to me. He always has a way out or around.

While this film is comedy-based, it has deeper meaning surrounding Mr. Bean, he may act silly and act out of the standards of society, but he is also a reflection of what is and means to be human. In the film he messes up, and, when his true nature is discovered, it motivates him to improve to the best version of himself, and this is reflected in the music. Its not just a comedy, its a film reflecting all of us as humans.
I truly don't know why this flabbergasting masterpiece hasn't been recorded or perfomed on video by some sort of producers nowadays... I'm literally speechless how can this theme be soooo soooo understimated
This score deserved at least an Oscar nomination, and I’m done pretending like it didn’t. Mr. Goodall’s score for this film is both the funniest and most uplifting musical score I’ve heard. Having the pleasure of watching this movie as a kid, and still remembering it and keeping it with me all these years- good on you, Mr. Goodall.
I love Mr. Bean. Everything about him and the shows/movies. To me, the character embodies so much of life. He is clumsy, awkward and naive. Almost like an adult who is still a child of mind. I feel like that is a perfect mix for what we should all strive for. His actions and manners come off sometimes as rude and insensitive. But it’s not usually all his fault, it’s the other people and his intentions are insanely pure. He wants to do right, he wants to do good. But people (specifically rude and inconsiderate people) thwart his intentions and ruin the day. To Howard Goodall, who played the incredible theme for Mr. Bean in his films, you understood the assignment and beautifully captured the essence of Mr. Bean and life in general in your music. Start off with determined intention and focus. 3 intense horn sections (with triangle hits in the ends which I feel are ADHD thoughts or distractions before refocusing for the next intention). Then beautifully transitioning to the “Mad Pianos” section the song is named for. Seemingly random chords and notes at a frenetic pace on the piano continuously sounding through the whole song. This to me represents the exterior world, life. Constant distraction, misinformation, family demands, tasks to be completed, demands for attention, ridiculous social constructs, ads, ambient noise…etc. This is what I think the mad pianos represent in the mind of Mr. Bean. And I completely relate. What an insane world of “mad pianos” sounding off constantly that we live in. But there’s hope. Very soon, the orchestral medley starts to build. Soothing, inspiring, structured and beautiful. The melody swells ever more loudly and intensely. Until finally, the inspiring and structured orchestral melody overtakes the mad pianos and drowns them out, which are still continually present in the background. WOW!! What an insanely beautiful musical description of what I imagine is Mr. Bean’s mental state (which I’m sure many can relate to). Constant noise and he’s trying to focus on the melody, but he slips. We can all relate I’m sure of that. Focus on the melody! Such an inspiring musical translation of what we all face today. Constant noise. Insane demands. Incredible amounts of misinformation. Distractions. So many challenges and demands for our attention…Find the melody. Find the inspiration that drowns out the mad pianos in your life. I have heard this song at least 3,000 times in my life and I STILL get goosebumps every time from what I feel when I listen to it. Just like Mr. Bean, you will make mistakes among the noise. But seek the melody and truth always. And in the end, the mad pianos stand no chance of being heard.
Mr. Bean: Hello, I'm Dr. Bean. Apparently. And my job is to sit and look at paintings. So, what have I learned that I can say about this painting? Well, firstly, it's really quite big, which is excellent. Because If it were really small, you know, microscopic, then hardly anyone would be able to see it. Which would be a tremendous shame. Secondly, and I'm getting quite near the end of this... analysis... of this painting, secondly, why was it worth this man here spending fifty million of your American dollars on this portrait? And the answer to that is, well this painting is worth such a lot of money because... it's a picture of Whistler's mother. And as I've learned by staying with my best friend David Langley and his family, families are very important and even though Mr. Whistler was perfectly aware that his mother was a hideous old bat who looked like she'd had a cactus lodged up her backside, he stuck with her, and even took the time to paint this amazing picture of her. It's not just a painting. It's a picture of a mad old cow who he thought the world of. And that's marvelous Well that's what I think.
It is just kind of beatiful, indeed like no matter how you mess things up, everything is gonna end up fine. Tells about my life also, and i really can share all the feelings with Mr. Bean!
Me too, I have autism so I can worry alot but than in the end I think to myself that I shouldn't woory so much after all. Simple solutions to complicated problems, right?
I spent a couple summers in London. One of them working by myself. I played this track a lot, while walking around by myself. Gave me some great comfort and also a great soundtrack while I toured some great sights.
This theme is really great. So much memories to it, I can't help thinking about 1997 when I hear it. Howard did a great job and this is certainly amongst the best movie themes I've ever heard.
Absolutely love how above and beyond Mr. Goodall went with his score for Mr Bean. Music this majestic and sublime is normally only reserved for epics like Jurassic Park, Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings.
A testament to both Rowan Atkinson and Howard Goodall that you can pair this stunningly beautiful theme with one of tv's greatest walking disasters and yet still make it believable...love this piece so much and never get tired of hearing it.
It never fails to make me smile :) Mr.Bean our helpless hero. Love how you can hear the T.V. theme motif played just that much slower and broader with fast rhythm piano, timpani, slow strings and brass...Pure Cinema
***** Classic! :) I still love the episode when he looks after the baby, and uses a teddy bear as a nappy. And when he attaches loads of balloons to the baby's boggie and it takes off. He uses a pencil sharper to make arrows and shoots it down :)
Pure cinema indeed. I miss movie scores that really accentuate the magic of movies and use the majesty of a full orchestra. Most of the move scores I hear now sound like Muzak. The music isn’t a character in and of itself.
I always thought it was perfect how Bean always had epic orchestra music and Gregorian choir as background music. It's such a stark contrast to the hilarious situations he puts himself in.
Mr Bean is probably one of the best examples of an autistic person in film that I have ever seen. And yeah, I know that he probably wasn't intended to be so, but that combination of ''outwardly rejecting social norms and can barely string a sentence together'' and ''inwardly being a kindhearted genius with mad skills'' is the description that I would give to so many autistic people that I have met in my life.

Man I love this song! I get chills just listening to it! The entire piano line is fucking epic, and the composer is a fucking genius. Seriously, music like this is rare these days.
Always love Mr bean , this is the music he broke into the museum and fixed the problem he created , such a genius, I love this movie , this is the first mr bean movie
How can two people without saying a single word create such masterpieces in cinema and music, both are geniuses of their trade, this is just phenomenal
Love this song from France ! When i was kid i saw this movie and... THIS MUSIC was in my mind maybe 15years later... I'm so proud to find it today. Merci Monsieur Haricot ! 😉
I find this piece so compelling because throughout my childhood Mr bean was a fantastic celebrity figure for years because he was so childlike, oblivious to his surroundings and hyperfocused on one thing at a time, like kids. This music, coupled with the intense scene of destroying not only a prized artwork, but a new friendship certainly delivers. His friend even said he would take responsibility for what Mr Bean has done to the painting, despite the fact he himself was about to lose his marriage and potentially his daughter after she was put in ICU. Mr bean for the first time in his career has taken accountability for his mistakes, something that many many of us do not do. Mr Bean, Like a child trying to make it right after breaking a vase and gluing it back together... gets a beautiful score of redemption. The music screams to me, can you see this? Mr bean is being responsible for his actions, what about you? Beautifully done
This is about as iconic as the Star Wars main theme. As soon as you hear the first few seconds you immediately picture Mr. Bean arriving in his green mini like a mad man, swerving back and forth down the road. Rowan Atkinson is a brilliant man and a genius. There will never be a better Mr. Bean. God bless his soul.
It brings back so many loving memories... used to watch this on my grandma's couch. She bought me an enitre bean collection with all episodes, movies etc. Not a care in the world... just watching mr. bean all morning.
I saw this film at the cinema in 1997. I just remember the scene with the security guard trying to get in the toilet while Mr Bean switched the painings - This music was playing over the whole scene and as a result it really stuck out from the whole movie as being so captivating and beautiful.
You can say whatever you want about mr.Bean and this movie, but you can only admit that it has one of the best movie soundtracks ever made. It honestly gets me everytime ... Reminds me of my childhood when i would replay this movie 3times in a row non stop and think its the funniest film ever made but it also reminds me of the pain the final scene causes me to feel everytime i think about it... and how lonely mr.Bean really was..
Can't believe this JUST hit one million views.

Man I love this song! I get chills just listening to it! The entire piano line is fucking epic, and the composer is a fucking genius. Seriously, music like this is rare these days.

Batman 1989 ending and this theme. Straight epicness
This soundtrack is perfect to listen to when replacing a 30 million dollar painting with a poster

This gives me hope during quarantine
i can't wait to walk down the aisle to this
Howard Goodall was the composer for the mr bean tv series theme tune ! Genius composer.
This theme got stuck in my mind since the day I saw the movie at the teather, back in 1997.
This movie is an Masterpiece! must watch it now
How can two people without saying a single word create such masterpieces in cinema and music, both are geniuses of their trade, this is just phenomenal
It’s actually touching this theme
This is about as iconic as the Star Wars main theme. As soon as you hear the first few seconds you immediately picture Mr. Bean arriving in his green mini like a mad man, swerving back and forth down the road.
Rowan Atkinson is a brilliant man and a genius. There will never be a better Mr. Bean. God bless his soul.
Omg.. this is so nostalgic
What a film
Best film ever

It brings back so many loving memories... used to watch this on my grandma's couch. She bought me an enitre bean collection with all episodes, movies etc. Not a care in the world... just watching mr. bean all morning.
Started college this week. I promise that when/if I graduate, I play this as my celebratory song.
most beautiful shots in movie history pt II put me on, holy shit this is amazing
the best music! In this years, i don't read the good music!!!!!
Goosebumps when i hear this
I saw this film at the cinema in 1997. I just remember the scene with the security guard trying to get in the toilet while Mr Bean switched the painings - This music was playing over the whole scene and as a result it really stuck out from the whole movie as being so captivating and beautiful.
Martie200 I also saw this in the cinema in 1997. I agree the music in the scene was beautiful and definitely stuck out from the whole movie
Yeah I agree. This film reminds me of my childhood also. This was the very first film I saw at the cinemas back in 1997. Memories.
This is a truly great, fantastic, and absolutely amazing film
Goodall is a genius!

You know that he is the best when his themes are just so good, you want to listen repeatedly.
0:58 gives goosebumps, I remember even as a kid finding this score insanely inspiring haha, who knew a Bean film would create such amazing music 😂
