Great vid! It's generally accepted to use AB over MWD for FW. Navy slicers are a dream to fight in a Kestrel, they don't have enough mid slots to fit a web, AB, and scram. You don't see those with webs too often. You just have to burn in, web/scram, and orbit. If they happen to have a MWD to disruptor kite you (20k kite), then expect company. Otherwise, they have to turn off either their MWD or disruptor after a minute or two, because both eat so much cap. You can either warp out (disrupter turned off) or push in for the tackle and orbit (MWD turned off), or die before they run out of cap lol. In the case of the one you found, you both had similar range and dps. When your mwd turned off and you passed by him at 5km, his hits grazed. He had the speed advantage when you turned off your MWD, and had great application when you had it on. You could have had that fight since you weren't webbed by simply running an AB! Hindsight is 20/20. I look forward to more FW fights! Also, running a double webbed, armor tanking kestrel gives you the same EHP as a big ol shield, but much better EM/Thermal resistance. Having the slicer double webbed would have given just about perfect application, which allows you to drop the ballistics control for an armor low slot module.
Have barely touched FW, so can't really speak much on ships and their counters, but... Even without that, you can make estimations. Like - knowing the approximate speeds any ships can go at with AB/MWD. Knowing the base ranges of their weapons systems with differing ammo. Rather a lot of specific game knowledge, I know, but nothing you can't slowly pick up along the way. Also - using 'view' on your target, to check the specific weapons fitted, can help rather greatly. Especially with SOCT ships like Sunesis/Gnosis/Praxis... Although simply knowing whether you can outrange blasters, or have to tank rails regardless - can get very much helpful in approaching each specific engagement. Range control is a very powerful thing, as it can both allow to reduce or negate incoming damage, as well as give yourself an out in case things get sour. Can get tricky with frigates though, as fights tend to end rather quickly. Not to mention, being on the receiving end of someone with range control can feel rather frustrating, as you no doubt experienced with the Moa. Still happy to see you trying so hard at FW, although I would advise *against* trying Pirate frigates, even if you can afford them. For stuff that can easily become painful KMs, they have a lot of potential at scaring prey away. Also - you will likely see limited effectiveness even with them, without first learning the basics of fast-paced frigate combat. Getting a general idea of targets you can or can't engage, or how to achieve victory in specific match-ups takes time, and without the knowledge you will become a free KM more often than not. Honestly - I would like to actually see tidbits of your thought process, as you go over the factors that got you killed, and how you could've countered/avoided them. Especially given how you have actual fight footage to analyze. Similarly to experimental Abyss fits, it's important to consider various aspects of not just fits, but also the ways you fly them. That would make for more enjoyable content for me personally, and likely much more educational for others as well. Snippets of your thoughts have given me plenty of inspiration to try harder myself on various occasions, so I feel like it would be keeping with the good tradition that has shaped much of your channel. :) EDIT: sudden idea - why not try something Minchurra did? Stuff like - "What I learned from losing 10 *insert ship name*" Sounds like it could be both very entertaining and educational at the same time...

Slicer using lasers does em damage, caldari shields are traditionally weak against that, unless you use one EM rig. Anyone who can, will use EM damage vs a shield tanked kestrel, so other missiles, lasers or projectiles. In FW, having an AB is usually preferred cause it'll still work vs a mwd, allowing you to try mitigating damage as well as try to keep range control. Faction frigs... Very expensive, hard to get fights in, and the fights you do get are against ppl who have an actual plan to kill you, so unless you really know what you're doing, you'll just die to something that counters. Worm is pretty strong, kinda quick, good buffer, loads of unmitigatable damage. Most fw fights are rock paper scissors, decided by the initial engagement conditions and matchup.

Krestel is a great kiter my fav fit for it is a full range missile sniper using all low and mid slot for missile and targeting range mods then you get 105km with capacitor and launcher rigs to maintain stable the 5mn MWD and some drones bc why the hell no , no one expect this but if yes anyways you can scape with relative easiness @ 2900 m/s, very fun fit.

That slicer blasted through your em hole on your shields. Probably a bad fight to take in the first place.
This has been my experience in Faction Warfare: even if you have max skills, if you fly solo, the T1 ships just can't win.

It seems like Minmatar and Gallente are pushing pretty hard recently. It is a great time for anyone to star faction warfare.
I would definitely show the passive modules. It is good to know when your passive modules are on the verge of burning out.
