I live in a rural area, in a 55+ park. The owner put this park in back in the early 70's, and has kept it well maintained. It's really beautiful, and homes here are in high demand; once one of them are listed for sale, they don't last long! He keeps the rent affordable because he knows that most folks are on fixed incomes. Rent was recently raised, and is currently at $320/month, which includes water, sewer & garbage. I guess my point is, it IS possible to find a place that doesn't charge a fortune for monthly rent! I hope you were able to find a place, good luck on your search!!
